2020-08-24treewide: Use fallthrough pseudo-keywordGustavo A. R. Silva1-2/+2
Replace the existing /* fall through */ comments and its variants with the new pseudo-keyword macro fallthrough[1]. Also, remove unnecessary fall-through markings when it is the case. 2020-07-07drm/meson: overlay: fix build failureNeil Armstrong1-2/+4
The recent GCC compiler is very picky with the VD_H_START() and AFBC_DEC_PIXEL_BGN_H() macros, triggering a runtime assert error as: In function 'meson_overlay_setup_scaler_params', inlined from 'meson_overlay_atomic_update' at drivers/gpu/drm/meson/meson_overlay.c:542:2: ./include/linux/compiler.h:392:38: error: call to '__compiletime_assert_341' declared with attribute error: FIELD_PREP: value too large for the field drivers/gpu/drm/meson/meson_overlay.c:413:4: note: in expansion of macro 'AFBC_DEC_PIXEL_BGN_H' 413 | AFBC_DEC_PIXEL_BGN_H(hd_start_lines - afbc_left) | | ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ./include/linux/compiler.h:392:38: error: call to '__compiletime_assert_401' declared with attribute error: FIELD_PREP: value too large for the field It's not expected to overflow these fields, but the compiler did find a case where it overflows. We can safely ignore this, so mask the value with the field width. 2020-07-03drm/meson: overlay: setup overlay for Amlogic FBCNeil Armstrong1-8/+243
Setup the Amlogic FBC decoder for the VD1 video overlay plane. The VD1 Amlogic FBC decoder is integrated in the pipeline like the YUV pixel reading/formatter but used a direct memory address instead. This adds support for the basic layout, and needs to calculate the content body size since the header is allocated after. 2019-08-22drm: meson: use match data to detect vpu compatibilityJulien Masson1-1/+1
This patch introduce new enum which contains all VPU family (GXBB, GXL, GXM and G12A). This enum is used to detect the VPU compatible with the device. We only need to set .data to the corresponding enum in the device table, no need to check .compatible string anymore. 2019-07-17drm/meson: drop use of drmP.hSam Ravnborg1-8/+5
Drop use of the deprecated drmP.h header. While doing so used the opportunity to clean up a little so includes are now sorted and removed unused include files. In a few cases added some forwards to allow header files to built in different include order. 2019-05-20drm/fourcc: Pass the format_info pointer to drm_format_plane_width/heightMaxime Ripard1-6/+6
So far, the drm_format_plane_height/width functions were operating on the format's fourcc and was doing a lookup to retrieve the drm_format_info structure and return the cpp. However, this is inefficient since in most cases, we will have the drm_format_info pointer already available so we shouldn't have to perform a new lookup. Some drm_fourcc functions also already operate on the drm_format_info pointer for that reason, so the API is quite inconsistent there. Let's follow the latter pattern and remove the extra lookup while being a bit more consistent. In order to be extra consistent, also rename that function to drm_format_info_plane_cpp and to a static function in the header to match the current policy. The parameters order have also be changed to match the other functions prototype. 2019-05-20drm: Remove users of drm_format_num_planesMaxime Ripard1-1/+1
drm_format_num_planes() is basically a lookup in the drm_format_info table plus an access to the num_planes field of the appropriate entry. Most drivers are using this function while having access to the entry already, which means that we will perform an unnecessary lookup. Removing the call to drm_format_num_planes is therefore more efficient. Some drivers will not have access to that entry in the function, but in this case the overhead is minimal (we just have to call drm_format_info() to perform the lookup) and we can even avoid multiple, inefficient lookups in some places that need multiple fields from the drm_format_info structure. 2019-04-09drm/meson: Add G12A Support for the Overlay video planeNeil Armstrong1-2/+8
Amlogic G12A SoC supports the same set of Video Planes, but now are handled by the new OSD plane blender module. This patch uses the same VD1 plane for G12A, using the exact same scaler and VD1 setup registers, except using the new blender register to disable the plane. 2018-11-13drm/meson: Support Overlay plane for video renderingNeil Armstrong1-0/+586
The Amlogic Meson GX SoCs support an Overlay plane behind the primary plane for video rendering. This Overlay plane support various YUV layouts : - YUYV - NV12 / NV21 - YUV444 / 422 / 420 / 411 / 410 The scaler supports a wide range of scaling ratios, but for simplicity, plane atomic check limits the scaling from x5 to /5 in vertical and horizontal scaling. The z-order is fixed and always behind the primary plane and cannot be changed. The scaling parameter algorithm was taken from the Amlogic vendor kernel code and rewritten to match the atomic universal plane requirements. The video rendering using this overlay plane support has been tested using the new Kodi DRM-KMS Prime rendering path along the in-review V4L2 Mem2Mem Hardware Video Decoder up to 3840x2160 NV12 frames on various display modes.
