2021-07-19drm/mediatek: Fix PM reference leak in mtk_crtc_ddp_hw_init()Wang Li1-1/+1
[ Upstream commit 69777e6ca396f0a7e1baff40fcad4a9d3d445b7a ] pm_runtime_get_sync will increment pm usage counter even it failed. Forgetting to putting operation will result in reference leak here. Fix it by replacing it with pm_runtime_resume_and_get to keep usage counter balanced. 2020-12-30drm/mediatek: avoid dereferencing a null hdmi_phy on an error messageColin Ian King1-2/+3
[ Upstream commit b097efba9580d1f7cbc80cda84e768983e3de541 ] Currently there is a null pointer check for hdmi_phy that implies it may be null, however a dev_err messages dereferences this potential null pointer. Avoid a null pointer dereference by only emitting the dev_err message if hdmi_phy is non-null. It is a moot point if the error message needs to be printed at all, but since this is a relatively new piece of code it may be useful to keep the message in for the moment in case there are unforseen errors that need to be reported. [ Upstream commit 0680a622318b8d657323b94082f4b9a44038dfee ] if of_find_device_by_node() succeed, mtk_drm_kms_init() doesn't have a corresponding put_device(). 2020-02-24drm/mediatek: handle events when enabling/disabling crtcBibby Hsieh1-0/+8
[ Upstream commit 411f5c1eacfebb1f6e40b653d29447cdfe7282aa ] The driver currently handles vblank events only when updating planes on an already enabled CRTC. Pull drm updates from Dave Airlie: "This is the main pull request for 5.4-rc1 merge window. I don't think there is anything outstanding so next week should just be fixes, but we'll see if I missed anything. I landed some fixes earlier in the week but got delayed writing summary and sending it out, due to a mix of sick kid and jetlag! There are some fixes pending, but I'd rather get the main merge out of the way instead of delaying it longer. It's also pretty large in commit count and new amd header file size. 2019-06-25drm/mediatek: Use drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_fencesDaniel Vetter4-40/+3
If we use the gem fb helper as the prepare_fb hook, plus the drm_prime.c import helpers now automatically setting obj->resv, we can use the shared helpers to wait for fences instead of rolling our own. 2019-06-04drm/mediatek: call mtk_dsi_stop() after mtk_drm_crtc_atomic_disable()Hsin-Yi Wang1-1/+9
mtk_dsi_stop() should be called after mtk_drm_crtc_atomic_disable(), which needs ovl irq for drm_crtc_wait_one_vblank(), since after mtk_dsi_stop() is called, ovl irq will be disabled. If drm_crtc_wait_one_vblank() is called after last irq, it will timeout with this message: "vblank wait timed out on crtc 0". This happens sometimes when turning off the screen. In drm_atomic_helper.c#disable_outputs(), the calling sequence when turning off the screen is: 1. mtk_dsi_encoder_disable() --> mtk_output_dsi_disable() --> mtk_dsi_stop(); /* sometimes make vblank timeout in atomic_disable */ --> mtk_dsi_poweroff(); 2. mtk_drm_crtc_atomic_disable() --> drm_crtc_wait_one_vblank(); ... --> mtk_dsi_ddp_stop() --> mtk_dsi_poweroff(); mtk_dsi_poweroff() has reference count design, change to make mtk_dsi_stop() called in mtk_dsi_poweroff() when refcount is 0. 2019-06-04drm/mediatek: unbind components in mtk_drm_unbind()Hsin-Yi Wang1-5/+1
Unbinding components (i.e. mtk_dsi and mtk_disp_ovl/rdma/color) will trigger master(mtk_drm)'s .unbind(), and currently mtk_drm's unbind won't actually unbind components. During the next bind, mtk_drm_kms_init() is called, and the components are added back. .unbind() should call mtk_drm_kms_deinit() to unbind components. And since component_master_del() in .remove() will trigger .unbind(), which will also unregister device, it's fine to remove original functions called here. 2019-05-20drm: Remove users of drm_format_info_plane_cppMaxime Ripard1-1/+1
drm_format_info_plane_cpp() basically just returns the cpp array content found in the drm_format_info structure. 2019-05-20drm/fourcc: Pass the format_info pointer to drm_format_plane_cppMaxime Ripard1-1/+1
So far, the drm_format_plane_cpp function was operating on the format's fourcc and was doing a lookup to retrieve the drm_format_info structure and return the cpp. However, this is inefficient since in most cases, we will have the drm_format_info pointer already available so we shouldn't have to perform a new lookup. Some drm_fourcc functions also already operate on the drm_format_info pointer for that reason, so the API is quite inconsistent there. Let's follow the latter pattern and remove the extra lookup while being a bit more consistent. In order to be extra consistent, also rename that function to drm_format_info_plane_cpp and to a static function in the header to match the current policy. 2019-05-20drm: Remove users of drm_format_num_planesMaxime Ripard1-2/+4
drm_format_num_planes() is basically a lookup in the drm_format_info table plus an access to the num_planes field of the appropriate entry. Most drivers are using this function while having access to the entry already, which means that we will perform an unnecessary lookup. Removing the call to drm_format_num_planes is therefore more efficient. Some drivers will not have access to that entry in the function, but in this case the overhead is minimal (we just have to call drm_format_info() to perform the lookup) and we can even avoid multiple, inefficient lookups in some places that need multiple fields from the drm_format_info structure. 2019-01-24drm: Split out drm_probe_helper.hDaniel Vetter6-6/+6
Having the probe helper stuff (which pretty much everyone needs) in the drm_crtc_helper.h file (which atomic drivers should never need) is confusing. Split them out. To make sure I actually achieved the goal here I went through all drivers. And indeed, all atomic drivers are now free of drm_crtc_helper.h includes. v2: Make it compile. There was so much compile fail on arm drivers that I figured I'll better not include any of the acks on v1. v3: Massive rebase because i915 has lost a lot of drmP.h includes, but not all: Through drm_crtc_helper.h > drm_modeset_helper.h -> drmP.h there was still one, which this patch largely removes. Which means rolling out lots more includes all over. This will also conflict with ongoing drmP.h cleanup by others I expect. v3: Rebase on top of atomic bochs. v4: Review from Laurent for bridge/rcar/omap/shmob/core bits: - (re)move some of the added includes, use the better include files in other places (all suggested from Laurent adopted unchanged). - sort alphabetically v5: Actually try to sort them, and while at it, sort all the ones I touch. v6: Rebase onto i915 changes. v7: Rebase once more.
