2020-09-23drm/mediatek: Add exception handing in mtk_drm_probe() if component init failYu Kuai1-1/+6
[ Upstream commit 64c194c00789889b0f9454f583712f079ba414ee ] mtk_ddp_comp_init() is called in a loop in mtk_drm_probe(), if it fail, previous successive init component is not proccessed. Thus uninitialize valid component and put their device if component init failed. Fixes: 119f5173628a ("drm/mediatek: Add DRM Driver for Mediatek SoC MT8173.") 2019-09-19drm/mediatek: mtk_drm_drv.c: Add of_node_put() before gotoNishka Dasgupta1-1/+4
commit 165d42c012be69900f0e2f8545626cb9e7d4a832 upstream. Each iteration of for_each_child_of_node puts the previous node, but in the case of a goto from the middle of the loop, there is no put, thus causing a memory leak. Hence add an of_node_put before the goto in two places. Issue found with Coccinelle. 2016-10-17drm: Add reference counting to drm_atomic_stateChris Wilson1-1/+2
drm_atomic_state has a complicated single owner model that tracks the single reference from allocation through to destruction on another thread - or perhaps on a local error path. We can simplify this tracking by using reference counting (at a cost of a few more atomics). This is even more beneficial when the lifetime of the state becomes more convoluted than being passed to a single worker thread for the commit. v2: Double check !intel atomic_commit functions for missing gets v3: Update kerneldocs Signed-off-by: Chris Wilson <chris@chris-wilson.co.uk> Cc: Daniel Vetter <daniel.vetter@ffwll.ch> Cc: dri-devel@lists.freedesktop.org Reviewed-by: Eric Engestrom <eric.engestrom@imgtec.com> Reviewed-by: Sean Paul <seanpaul@chromium.org> Signed-off-by: Daniel Vetter <daniel.vetter@ffwll.ch> Link: http://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20161014121833.439-27-chris@chris-wilson.co.uk

2016-08-29drm/atomic-helper: Add NO_DISABLE_AFTER_MODESET flag support for plane commitLiu Ying1-2/+4
Drivers may set the NO_DISABLE_AFTER_MODESET flag in the 'flags' parameter of the helper drm_atomic_helper_commit_planes() if the relevant display controllers(e.g., IPUv3 for imx-drm) require to disable a CRTC's planes when the CRTC is disabled. The helper would skip the ->atomic_disable call for a plane if the CRTC of the old plane state needs a modesetting operation. Of course, the drivers need to disable the planes in their CRTC disable callbacks since no one else would do that. 2016-08-08drm/mediatek: Fix mtk_atomic_complete for runtime_pmBibby Hsieh1-1/+16
To properly implement atomic w/ runtime pm, we move drm_atomic_helper_commit_modeset_enables() above drm_atomic_helper_commit_planes() to ensure CRTCs are enabled before modifying plane registers, and set active_only to true to filter out plane update notifications when the CRTC is disabled. According to the document from linux kernel: Set the active_only parameters to true in order not to receive plane update notifications related to a disabled CRTC. This avoids the need to manually ignore plane updates in driver code when the driver and/or hardware can't or just don't need to deal with updates on disabled CRTCs, for example when supporting runtime PM. 2016-06-21drm/mediatek: Remove redundant calls to drm_connector_register_all()Chris Wilson1-7/+0
