2025-03-20drm/bridge: Add encoder parameter to drm_bridge_funcs.attachMaxime Ripard1-1/+2
The drm_bridge structure contains an encoder pointer that is widely used by bridge drivers. This pattern is largely documented as deprecated in other KMS entities for atomic drivers. However, one of the main use of that pointer is done in attach to just call drm_bridge_attach on the next bridge to add it to the bridge list. While this dereferences the bridge->encoder pointer, it's effectively the same encoder the bridge was being attached to. We can make it more explicit by adding the encoder the bridge is attached to to the list of attach parameters. This also removes the need to dereference bridge->encoder in most drivers. 2024-10-24drm/bridge: aux: allow interlaced and YCbCr 420 outputDmitry Baryshkov1-0/+4
As both aux bridges are merely passthrough bridges, mark them as supporting interlaced and YCbCr 420 data. Other bridges in the chain still might limit interlaced and YCbCr 420 data support on the corresponding connector. 2024-10-21drm/bridge: Fix assignment of the of_node of the parent to aux bridgeAbel Vesa1-1/+2
The assignment of the of_node to the aux bridge needs to mark the of_node as reused as well, otherwise resource providers like pinctrl will report a gpio as already requested by a different device when both pinconf and gpios property are present. Fix that by using the device_set_of_node_from_dev() helper instead. 2023-12-19drm/bridge: properly refcount DT nodes in aux bridge driversDmitry Baryshkov1-1/+2
The aux-bridge and aux-hpd-bridge drivers didn't call of_node_get() on the device nodes further used for dev->of_node and platform data. When bridge devices are released, the reference counts are decreased, resulting in refcount underflow / use-after-free warnings. Get corresponding refcounts during AUX bridge allocation. 2023-12-04drm/bridge: add transparent bridge helperDmitry Baryshkov1-0/+140
Define a helper for creating simple transparent bridges which serve the only purpose of linking devices into the bridge chain up to the last bridge representing the connector. This is especially useful for DP/USB-C bridge chains, which can span across several devices, but do not require any additional functionality from the intermediate bridges.
