[Why] HPD sense changes can occur during low power states and need to be notified from firmware to driver. Upon notification the hotplug redetection routines should execute. [Why] We can hang in IPS2 checking DMCUB_SCRATCH0 for link detection state. [How] Replace the HW access with a check on the shared state bit. This will work the same way as the SCRATCH0 but won't require a wake in the case where link detection isn't required. [Why] It's possible to skip parts of the eval and exit sequencing if we know whether DCN is in IPS2 already or if it's committed to going to idle and not in IPS2. [How] Skip IPS2 entry/exit if DMCUB is idle but the IPS2 commit is not set. Skip the eval delay if DMCUB is already in IPS2 since we know we need to exit. These are turned off by default. [Why] Read modify write hazards can occur when using a single shared scratch register between driver and firmware leading to driver accessing DCN in IPS2 and a system hang. [How] Add infrastructure for using REGION6 as a shared firmware state between driver and firmware. This region is uncachable. Replace the existing get/set idle calls with reads/writes to the (volatile) shared firmware state blocks that a separated by at least a cache line between firmware and driver. Remove the workarounds that required rewriting/checking read modify write hazards. In some instances, the GPU is transmitting repeated frame to the sink without any updates or changes in the content. These repeat transmission are wasteful, resulting in power draw in different aspects of the system 1. DCN is fetching the frame of data from DF/UMC/DRAM. This memory traffic prevents power down of parts of this HW path. 2. GPU is transmitting pixel data to the display through the main link of the DisplayPort interface. This prevents power down of both the Source transmitter (TX) and the Sink receiver (RX)  The concepts of utilizing replay is similar to PSR, but there is a benefit of: Source and Sink remaining synchronized which allows for - lower latency when switching from replay to live frames - enable the possibility of more use cases - easy control of the sink's refresh rate during replay Due to Source and Sink remaining timing synchronized, Replay can be activated in more UI scenarios.
