2024-02-23drm/amdgpu: Release 'adev->pm.fw' before return in 'amdgpu_device_need_post()'Srinivasan Shanmugam1-0/+1
[ Upstream commit 8a44fdd3cf91debbd09b43bd2519ad2b2486ccf4 ] In function 'amdgpu_device_need_post(struct amdgpu_device *adev)' - 'adev->pm.fw' may not be released before return. Using the function release_firmware() to release adev->pm.fw. Thus fixing the below: drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/amdgpu_device.c:1571 amdgpu_device_need_post() warn: 'adev->pm.fw' from request_firmware() not released on lines: 1554. 2024-02-23drm/amdgpu: Drop 'fence' check in 'to_amdgpu_amdkfd_fence()'Srinivasan Shanmugam1-1/+1
[ Upstream commit bf2ad4fb8adca89374b54b225d494e0b1956dbea ] Return value of container_of(...) can't be null, so null check is not required for 'fence'. Hence drop its NULL check. 2024-01-26drivers/amd/pm: fix a use-after-free in kv_parse_power_tableZhipeng Lu1-3/+1
[ Upstream commit 28dd788382c43b330480f57cd34cde0840896743 ] When ps allocated by kzalloc equals to NULL, kv_parse_power_table frees adev->pm.dpm.ps that allocated before. However, after the control flow goes through the following call chains: kv_parse_power_table |-> kv_dpm_init |-> kv_dpm_sw_init |-> kv_dpm_fini The adev->pm.dpm.ps is used in the for loop of kv_dpm_fini after its first free in kv_parse_power_table and causes a use-after-free bug. 2024-01-26drm/amd/pm: fix a double-free in si_dpm_initZhipeng Lu1-3/+2
[ Upstream commit ac16667237a82e2597e329eb9bc520d1cf9dff30 ] When the allocation of adev->pm.dpm.dyn_state.vddc_dependency_on_dispclk.entries fails, amdgpu_free_extended_power_table is called to free some fields of adev. However, when the control flow returns to si_dpm_sw_init, it goes to label dpm_failed and calls si_dpm_fini, which calls amdgpu_free_extended_power_table again and free those fields again. Thus a double-free is triggered. 2023-09-23drm/amdgpu: Use RMW accessors for changing LNKCTLIlpo Järvinen2-52/+20
[ Upstream commit ce7d88110b9ed5f33fe79ea6d4ed049fb0e57bce ] Don't assume that only the driver would be accessing LNKCTL. ASPM policy changes can trigger write to LNKCTL outside of driver's control. And in the case of upstream bridge, the driver does not even own the device it's changing the registers for. Use RMW capability accessors which do proper locking to avoid losing concurrent updates to the register value. 2023-01-18drm/amdgpu: Fix type of second parameter in trans_msg() callbackNathan Chancellor1-1/+4
[ Upstream commit f0d0f1087333714ee683cc134a95afe331d7ddd9 ] With clang's kernel control flow integrity (kCFI, CONFIG_CFI_CLANG), indirect call targets are validated against the expected function pointer prototype to make sure the call target is valid to help mitigate ROP attacks. 2022-08-25drm/amdgpu: Check BO's requested pinning domains against its preferred_domainsLeo Li1-0/+4
commit f5ba14043621f4afdf3ad5f92ee2d8dbebbe4340 upstream. When pinning a buffer, we should check to see if there are any additional restrictions imposed by bo->preferred_domains. This will prevent the BO from being moved to an invalid domain when pinning. For example, this can happen if the user requests to create a BO in GTT domain for display scanout. amdgpu_dm will allow pinning to either VRAM or GTT domains, since DCN can scanout from either or. However, in amdgpu_bo_pin_restricted(), pinning to VRAM is preferred if there is adequate carveout. This can lead to pinning to VRAM despite the user requesting GTT placement for the BO. v2: Allow the kernel to override the domain, which can happen when exporting a BO to a V4L camera (for example). 2022-06-14drm/amd/pm: fix double free in si_parse_power_table()Keita Suzuki1-5/+3
[ Upstream commit f3fa2becf2fc25b6ac7cf8d8b1a2e4a86b3b72bd ] In function si_parse_power_table(), array adev->pm.dpm.ps and its member is allocated. If the allocation of each member fails, the array itself is freed and returned with an error code. However, the array is later freed again in si_dpm_fini() function which is called when the function returns an error. This leads to potential double free of the array adev->pm.dpm.ps, as well as leak of its array members, since the members are not freed in the allocation function and the array is not nulled when freed. In addition adev->pm.dpm.num_ps, which keeps track of the allocated array member, is not updated until the member allocation is successfully finished, this could also lead to either use after free, or uninitialized variable access in si_dpm_fini(). Fix this by postponing the free of the array until si_dpm_fini() and increment adev->pm.dpm.num_ps everytime the array member is allocated.
