[ Upstream commit 1781172526d1092323af443fa03f00e6de560401 ]
The bank-shared fields like 'rising' and 'falling' are modified using
non-atomic read-modify-write operations. Since every gpio chip instance
represents an entire bank of 32 pins, if 'mediatek_gpio_irq_type()' is
called concurrently for different IRQs on the same bank a possible overwrite
of each other's configuration is possible. Thus, protect this state with
'gpio_generic_lock_irqsave' lock in the same way it is handled in irp_chip
'mediatek_gpio_irq_mask()' and 'mediatek_gpio_irq_unmask()' callbacks.

[ Upstream commit d3e91a95b2b0fc6336dbf3ec90d831a1654d2720 ]
tegra_gpio_direction_input() and tegra_gpio_direction_output() already
program the GPIO controller direction registers directly. The additional
pinctrl_gpio_direction_input/output() calls do not add a Tegra pinctrl
operation, because the Tegra pinmux ops provide GPIO request/free
handling but no gpio_set_direction hook.
The extra call still enters the pinctrl core and takes pctldev->mutex.
Shared GPIO users can call the direction path while holding their
per-line spinlock, so this otherwise redundant pinctrl direction call can
sleep in an atomic context.
This was found by our static analysis tool and then confirmed by manual
review of tegra_gpio_probe(), the Tegra GPIO direction callbacks and the
Tegra pinctrl ops. The reviewed path has a default non-sleeping
struct gpio_chip while the direction callback still enters the pinctrl
mutex path.
A directed runtime validation kept the same non-sleeping chip registration
and drove:
gpio_shared_proxy_direction_output()
gpiod_direction_output_raw_commit()
tegra_gpio_direction_output()
pinctrl_gpio_direction_output()
Lockdep reported a sleep-in-atomic warning with the shared GPIO spinlock
held and pinctrl_get_device_gpio_range() plus tegra_gpio_direction_output()
on the stack.
Do not mark the whole chip as can_sleep to paper over this: can_sleep
describes whether get()/set() may sleep, and Tegra value access is MMIO.
Remove the redundant pinctrl direction calls and keep pinctrl involvement
in the existing request/free path.

[ Upstream commit 286533cb14a3c8a8bd39ff64ea2fc8e1aa0f638b ]
sch_irq_unmask() enables the GPIO IRQ and then updates the controller
state through sch_irq_mask_unmask(), which takes sch->lock with
spin_lock_irqsave(). The callback can be reached from irq_startup()
while setting up a requested IRQ. That path is not sleepable, but on
PREEMPT_RT a regular spinlock_t becomes a sleeping lock.
This issue was found by our static analysis tool and then manually
reviewed against the current tree.
The grounded PoC kept the request_threaded_irq() -> __setup_irq() ->
irq_startup() -> sch_irq_unmask() -> sch_irq_mask_unmask() carrier and
used the original spin_lock_irqsave(&sch->lock) edge. Lockdep reported:
BUG: sleeping function called from invalid context
hardirqs last disabled at ... __setup_irq.constprop.0 ... [vuln_msv]
sch_rt_spin_lock_irqsave+0x1c/0x30 [vuln_msv]
sch_irq_mask_unmask.constprop.0+0x31/0x70 [vuln_msv]
__setup_irq.constprop.0+0xd/0x30 [vuln_msv]
Convert the SCH controller lock to raw_spinlock_t. The same lock is
also used by the GPIO direction and value callbacks, but those critical
sections only update MMIO-backed GPIO registers and do not contain
sleepable operations. Keeping this register lock non-sleeping is
therefore appropriate for the irqchip callbacks and does not change the
GPIO-side locking contract.

commit 9a6c0b6ea12746d50cf53d59a7e05fd83f974bda upstream.
The Nuvoton NCT6126D Super-I/O is available in two hardware revisions.
According to the manufacturer datasheet revision 2.4, version A reports
chip ID 0xD283, while version B reports chip ID 0xD284.
The driver currently only recognizes only the version A ID. Version B
only contains hardware fixes unrelated to the GPIO functionality, so it
can be supported by simply adding its chip ID without any other driver
changes.

commit 90f0109019e6817eb40a486671b7722d1544ae29 upstream.
sprd_eic_irq_unmask() enables the GPIO IRQ and then updates controller

[ Upstream commit 3e46c18d5d87f063a93ae0fe7662fbf6660459d5 ]
The bank->clk was previously obtained via of_clk_get() and manually
prepared/enabled. However, it was missing a corresponding clk_put() in
both the error paths and the remove function, leading to a reference leak.
Convert the allocation to devm_clk_get_enabled(), which also properly
propagates failures from clk_prepare_enable() that were previously ignored.
The GPIO bank device uses the same OF node as the previous of_clk_get()
call, so devm_clk_get_enabled(dev, NULL) correctly resolves the same
clock provider entry.
Fix the reference leak and simplify the code by removing the manual
clk_disable_unprepare() calls in the probe error paths and in the
remove function.

This is because the spin_lock would change to rt_mutex in PREEMPT_RT,
however the sprd_gpio->lock would use in hard-irq, this is unsafe.
So change the spin_lock_t to raw_spin_lock_t to use the spinlock
in hard-irq.

commit 730e5ebff40c852e3ea57b71bf02a4b89c69435f upstream.
Commit 11a78b794496 ("ARM: OMAP: MPUIO wake updates") registers the
omap_mpuio_driver from omap_mpuio_init(), which is called from
omap_gpio_probe().
However, it neither makes sense to register drivers from probe()
callbacks of other drivers, nor does the driver core allow registering
drivers with a device lock already being held.
The latter was revealed by commit dc23806a7c47 ("driver core: enforce
device_lock for driver_match_device()") leading to a potential deadlock
condition described in [1].
Additionally, the omap_mpuio_driver is never unregistered from the
driver core, even if the module is unloaded.
Hence, register the omap_mpuio_driver from the module initcall and
unregister it in module_exit().

commit 7ca497be00163610afb663867db24ac408752f13 upstream.
Marking the whole controller as sleeping due to the pinctrl calls in the
.direction_{input,output} callbacks has the unfortunate side effect that
legitimate invocations of .get and .set, which cannot themselves sleep,
in atomic context now spew WARN()s from gpiolib.
However, as Heiko points out, the driver doing this is a bit silly to
begin with, as the pinctrl .gpio_set_direction hook doesn't even care
about the direction, the hook is only used to claim the mux. And sure
enough, the .gpio_request_enable hook exists to serve this very purpose,
so switch to that and remove the problematic business entirely.

The BIT() macro uses unsigned long, which is 32 bits on 32-bit
architectures. When iterating over GPIO pins with index >= 32,
the expression (*value & BIT(i)) causes undefined behavior due
to shifting by a value >= type width.
Since 'value' is a pointer to u64, use BIT_ULL() to ensure correct
64-bit mask on all architectures.

[ Upstream commit 014a17deb41201449f76df2b20c857a9c3294a7c ]
GPIO drivers with latch input support may miss short pulses on input
pins even when input latching is enabled. The generic interrupt logic in
the pca953x driver reports interrupts by comparing the current input
value against the previously sampled one and only signals an event when
a level change is observed between two reads.
For short pulses, the first edge is captured when the input register is
read, but if the signal returns to its previous level before the read,
the second edge is not observed. As a result, successive pulses can
produce identical input values at read time and no level change is
detected, causing interrupts to be missed. Below timing diagram shows
this situation where the top signal is the input pin level and the
bottom signal indicates the latched value.

PCAL variants provide an interrupt status register that records which
pins triggered an interrupt, but the status and input registers cannot
be read atomically. The interrupt status is only cleared when the input
port is read, and the input value must also be read to determine the
triggering edge. If another interrupt occurs on a different line after
the status register has been read but before the input register is
sampled, that event will not be reflected in the earlier status
snapshot, so relying solely on the interrupt status register is also
insufficient.
Support for input latching and interrupt status handling was previously
added by [1], but the interrupt status-based logic was reverted by [2]
due to these issues. This patch addresses the original problem by
combining both sources of information. Events indicated by the interrupt
status register are merged with events detected through the existing
level-change logic. As a result:
* short pulses, whose second edges are invisible, are detected via the
interrupt status register, and
* interrupts that occur between the status and input reads are still
caught by the generic level-change logic.
This significantly improves robustness on devices that signal interrupts
as short pulses, while avoiding the issues that led to the earlier
reversion. In practice, even if only the first edge of a pulse is
observable, the interrupt is reliably detected.
This fixes missed interrupts from an Ilitek touch controller with its
interrupt line connected to a PCAL6416A, where active-low pulses are
approximately 200 us long.

Adds support for level-triggered interrupts in the PCA953x GPIO
expander driver. Previously, the driver only supported edge-triggered
interrupts, which could lead to missed events in scenarios where an
interrupt condition persists until it is explicitly cleared.
By enabling level-triggered interrupts, the driver can now detect and
respond to sustained interrupt conditions more reliably.

[ Upstream commit 00aaae60faf554c27c95e93d47f200a93ff266ef ]
There are GPIO controllers such as the one present in the LX2160ARDB
QIXIS FPGA which have fixed-direction input and output GPIO lines mixed
together in a single register. This cannot be modeled using the
gpio-regmap as-is since there is no way to present the true direction of
a GPIO line.
In order to make this use case possible, add a new configuration
parameter - fixed_direction_output - into the gpio_regmap_config
structure. This will enable user drivers to provide a bitmap that
represents the fixed direction of the GPIO lines.

The generic_handle_domain_irq() function resolves the hardware IRQ
internally. The driver performed a duplicative mapping by calling
irq_find_mapping() first, which could lead to an RCU stall.
Delete the redundant irq_find_mapping() call and pass the hardware IRQ
directly to generic_handle_domain_irq().

When a software-node gets added to a device which already has another
fwnode as primary node it will become the secondary fwnode for that
device.
Currently if a software-node with GPIO properties ends up as the secondary
fwnode then gpiod_find_by_fwnode() will fail to find the GPIOs.
Add a new gpiod_fwnode_lookup() helper which falls back to calling
gpiod_find_by_fwnode() with the secondary fwnode if the GPIO was not
found in the primary fwnode.

commit 56bdf7270ff4f870e2d4bfacdc00161e766dba2d upstream.
This reverts commit 10af0273a35ab4513ca1546644b8c853044da134.
While this change was merged, it is not the preferred solution.
During review of a similar change to the gpio-mlxbf2 driver, the
use of "platform_get_irq_optional" was identified as the preferred
solution, so let's use it for gpio-mlxbf3 driver as well.
