2021-07-27clk: mediatek: make COMMON_CLK_MT8167* depend on COMMON_CLK_MT8167Miles Chen1-15/+10
I found that COMMON_CLK_MT8167* do not depend on COMMON_CLK_MT8167, so it is possible to config: CONFIG_COMMON_CLK_MT8167=n CONFIG_COMMON_CLK_MT8167_*=y Although it does not cause build breaks with such configuration, I think it is clearer to make COMMON_CLK_MT8167* depend on COMMON_CLK_MT8167. 2021-02-09clk: mediatek: Select all the MT8183 clocks by defaultEnric Balletbo i Serra1-0/+11
If MT8183 SoC support is enabled, almost all machines will use topckgen, apmixedsys, infracfg, mcucfg and subsystem clocks, so it feels wrong to require each one to select that symbols manually. Instead, enable it whenever COMMON_CLK_MT8183_* is disabled as a simplification. This would add few KB in the kernel image size but will make the life a bit easier to the users, anyway you'll need to probably enable all of them if you want to have proper support for that SoC. 2020-06-13treewide: replace '---help---' in Kconfig files with 'help'Masahiro Yamada1-32/+32
Since commit 84af7a6194e4 ("checkpatch: kconfig: prefer 'help' over '---help---'"), the number of '---help---' has been gradually decreasing, but there are still more than 2400 instances. This commit finishes the conversion. While I touched the lines, I also fixed the indentation. There are a variety of indentation styles found. a) 4 spaces + '---help---' b) 7 spaces + '---help---' c) 8 spaces + '---help---' d) 1 space + 1 tab + '---help---' e) 1 tab + '---help---' (correct indentation) f) 1 tab + 1 space + '---help---' g) 1 tab + 2 spaces + '---help---' In order to convert all of them to 1 tab + 'help', I ran the following commend: $ find . -name 'Kconfig*' | xargs sed -i 's/^[[:space:]]*---help---/\thelp/' Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <masahiroy@kernel.org>

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/clk/linux Pull clk updates from Stephen Boyd: "This time around we have four lines of diff in the core framework, removing a function that isn't used anymore. Otherwise the main new thing for the common clk framework is that it is selectable in the Kconfig language now. Hopefully this will let clk drivers and clk consumers be testable on more than the architectures that support the clk framework. The goal is to introduce some Kunit tests for the framework. Outside of the core framework we have the usual set of various driver updates and non-critical fixes. The dirstat shows that the new Baikal-T1 driver is the largest addition this time around in terms of lines of code. After that the x86 (Intel), Qualcomm, and Mediatek drivers introduce many lines to support new or upcoming SoCs. There is no strong reason for this to use CLK_OF_DECLARE instead of being a platform driver. Plus, MMSYS provides clocks but also a shared register space for the mediatek-drm and the mediatek-mdp driver. git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/clk/linux Pull clk updates from Stephen Boyd: "This round of clk driver and framework updates is heavy on the driver update side. The two main highlights in the core framework are the addition of an bulk clk_get API that handles optional clks and an extra debugfs file that tells the developer about the current parent of a clk. The driver updates are dominated by i.MX in the diffstat, but that is mostly because that SoC has started converting to the clk_hw style of clk registration. The next big update is in the Amlogic meson clk driver that gained some support for audio, cpu, and temperature clks while fixing some PLL issues. Finally, the biggest thing that stands out is the conversion of a large part of the Allwinner sunxi-ng driver to the new clk parent scheme that uses less strings and more pointer comparisons to match clk parents and children up. In general, it looks like we have a lot of little fixes and tweaks here and there to clk data along with the normal addition of a handful of new drivers and a couple new core framework features. 2018-01-11clk: mediatek: adjust dependency of reset.c to avoid unexpectedly being builtSean Wang1-0/+1
Changes from v1->v2: Add 'select RESET_CONTROLLER' under COMMON_CLK_MEDIATEK and enable reset.c to be built when COMMON_CLK_MEDIATEK is selected. That should be quite reasonable because the reset controller is tightly embedded inside and exported from these clock subsystems. At least it can be found on infracfg and pericfg subsystem that both are really fundamental block lots of devices must depend on. commit 74cb0d6dde8 ("clk: mediatek: fixup test-building of MediaTek clock drivers") can let the build system looking into the directory where the clock drivers resides and then allow test-building the drivers. But the change also gives rise to certain incorrect behavior which is reset.c being built even not depending on either COMPILE_TEST or ARCH_MEDIATEK alternative dependency. To get rid of reset.c being built unexpectedly on the other platforms, it would be a good change that the file should be built depending on its own specific configuration rather than just on generic RESET_CONTROLLER one. If I say "no" to "Clock driver for Mediatek MT2701", I don't want to be asked individually about each sub-driver. No means no. Additionally, this driver shouldn't be proposed at all on non-mediatek builds, unless build-testing.
