2008-07-14drm: reorganise drm tree to be more future proof.Dave Airlie1-320/+0
With the coming of kernel based modesetting and the memory manager stuff, the everything in one directory approach was getting very ugly and starting to be unmanageable. This restructures the drm along the lines of other kernel components. It creates a drivers/gpu/drm directory and moves the hw drivers into subdirectores. It moves the includes into an include/drm, and sets up the unifdef for the userspace headers we should be exporting. Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com>
2008-06-19drm/radeon: Restore sw interrupt on resumeDennis Kasprzyk1-1/+1
Fixes performance drop after suspend/resume on some systems. Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com>
2008-05-07Revert "drm/vbl rework: rework how the drm deals with vblank."Dave Airlie1-83/+88
This reverts commit ac741ab71bb39e6977694ac0cc26678d8673cda4. Okay this looks like wasn't as fully baked as I'd led myself to believe. Revert for now for further baking. Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com>
2008-04-26drm/vbl rework: rework how the drm deals with vblank.Jesse Barnes1-88/+83
Other Authors: Michel Dänzer <michel@tungstengraphics.com> mga: Ian Romanick <idr@us.ibm.com> via: Thomas Hellstrom <thomas-at-tungstengraphics-dot-com> This re-works the DRM internals to provide a better interface for drivers to expose vblank on multiple crtcs. It also includes work done by Michel on making i915 triple buffering and pageflipping work properly. Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@redhat.com>
2008-02-07drm: cleanup DRM_DEBUG() parametersMárton Németh1-3/+3
As DRM_DEBUG macro already prints out the __FUNCTION__ string (see drivers/char/drm/drmP.h), it is not worth doing this again. At some other places the ending "\n" was added. airlied:- I cleaned up a few that this patch missed also Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@linux.ie>
2007-10-20Convert files to UTF-8 and some cleanupsJan Engelhardt1-1/+1
* Convert files to UTF-8. * Also correct some people's names (one example is Eißfeldt, which was found in a source file. Given that the author used an ß at all in a source file indicates that the real name has in fact a 'ß' and not an 'ss', which is commonly used as a substitute for 'ß' when limited to 7bit.) * Correct town names (Goettingen -> Göttingen) * Update Eberhard Mönkeberg's address (http://lkml.org/lkml/2007/1/8/313) Signed-off-by: Jan Engelhardt <jengelh@gmx.de> Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@kernel.org>
2007-10-16radeon_driver_vblank_do_wait() staticAdrian Bunk1-2/+2
radeon_driver_vblank_do_wait() can become static. Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@stusta.de> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
2007-10-15drm: Replace DRM_IOCTL_ARGS with (dev, data, file_priv) and remove DRM_DEVICE.Eric Anholt1-14/+6
The data is now in kernel space, copied in/out as appropriate according to t This results in DRM_COPY_{TO,FROM}_USER going away, and error paths to deal with those failures. This also means that XFree86 4.2.0 support for i810 DR is lost. Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@linux.ie>
2007-10-15drm: Replace filp in ioctl arguments with drm_file *file_priv.Eric Anholt1-1/+1
As a fallout, replace filp storage with file_priv storage for "unique identifier of a client" all over the DRM. There is a 1:1 mapping, so this should be a noop. This could be a minor performance improvement, as everyth on Linux dereferenced filp to get file_priv anyway, while only the mmap ioct went the other direction. Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@linux.ie>
2007-10-15drm: Remove DRM_ERR OS macro.Eric Anholt1-6/+6
This was used to make all ioctl handlers return -errno on linux and errno on *BSD. Instead, just return -errno in shared code, and flip sign on return f shared code to *BSD code. Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@linux.ie>
2007-07-11drm: remove drm_file_t, drm_device_t and drm_head_t typedefsDave Airlie1-12/+12
some drivers still todo. Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@linux.ie>
2007-07-11radeon: add support for vblank on crtc2Dave Airlie1-11/+95
This adds support for CRTC2 vblank on radeon similiar to the i915. Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@linux.ie>
2006-12-19drm: fixup comment header styleDave Airlie1-2/+2
Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@linux.ie>
2005-09-25drm: lindent the drm directory.Dave Airlie1-64/+63
I've been threatening this for a while, so no point hanging around. This lindents the DRM code which was always really bad in tabbing department. I've also fixed some misnamed files in comments and removed some trailing whitespace. Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@linux.ie>
2005-06-26drm: fix radeon irq properlyDave Airlie1-14/+13
After the previous fix in 2.6.12, this patch should properly fix the radeon IRQ handling code. From: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org> Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@linux.ie>
2005-06-10[PATCH] remove bogus hack from radeon IRQ handlerDave Airlie1-5/+0
This removes a bogus hack from the radeon IRQ handler. There is a better fix from myself and benh in DRM CVS but I'll wait until 2.6.13-rc so it gets more testing. Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airlied@linux.ie>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
