2024-08-14Bluetooth: btnxpuart: Shutdown timer and prevent rearming when driver unloadingLuke Wang1-1/+1
[ Upstream commit 0d0df1e750bac0fdaa77940e711c1625cff08d33 ] When unload the btnxpuart driver, its associated timer will be deleted. If the timer happens to be modified at this moment, it leads to the kernel call this timer even after the driver unloaded, resulting in kernel panic. 2024-08-03Bluetooth: btnxpuart: Add handling for boot-signature timeout errorsNeeraj Sanjay Kale1-4/+48
[ Upstream commit 27489364299a2ddb5c54cd9f29a3f41bd8d151ab ] This handles the timeout error codes sent by the chip as part of the bootloader signatures during firmware download process. When the bootloader does not receive a response packet from the host within a specific time, it adds an error code to the bootloader signature while requesting for the FW chunk from the same offset. The host is expected to clear this error code with a NAK, and reply to only those bootloader signatures which have error code 0. However, the driver was ignoring this error code and replying with the firmware chunks instead, which is apparently ignored by the chip and the chip resends the same bootloader signature with the error code again. This happens in a loop until the error code self clears and firmware download proceeds ahead, adding a couple of milliseconds to the total firmware download time. Commit 689ca16e5232 was an initial implementation which simply printed the following line during driver debug: - FW Download received err 0x04 from chip This commit adds the expected handling to the error codes. This error handling is valid for data_req bootloader signatures for V3 and future bootloader versions. 2024-06-28Bluetooth: btnxpuart: Enable Power Save feature on startupNeeraj Sanjay Kale1-1/+1
This sets the default power save mode setting to enabled. The power save feature is now stable and stress test issues, such as the TX timeout error, have been resolved. commit c7ee0bc8db32 ("Bluetooth: btnxpuart: Resolve TX timeout error in power save stress test") With this setting, the driver will send the vendor command to FW at startup, to enable power save feature. 2024-06-28Bluetooth: qca: Fix BT enable failure again for QCA6390 after warm rebootZijun Hu1-3/+15
Commit 272970be3dab ("Bluetooth: hci_qca: Fix driver shutdown on closed serdev") will cause below regression issue: BT can't be enabled after below steps: cold boot -> enable BT -> disable BT -> warm reboot -> BT enable failure if property enable-gpios is not configured within DT|ACPI for QCA6390. The commit is to fix a use-after-free issue within qca_serdev_shutdown() by adding condition to avoid the serdev is flushed or wrote after closed but also introduces this regression issue regarding above steps since the VSC is not sent to reset controller during warm reboot. Fixed by sending the VSC to reset controller within qca_serdev_shutdown() once BT was ever enabled, and the use-after-free issue is also fixed by this change since the serdev is still opened before it is flushed or wrote. 2024-06-28Bluetooth: Add quirk to ignore reserved PHY bits in LE Extended Adv ReportSven Peter1-0/+8
Some Broadcom controllers found on Apple Silicon machines abuse the reserved bits inside the PHY fields of LE Extended Advertising Report events for additional flags. Add a quirk to drop these and correctly extract the Primary/Secondary_PHY field. Because both MT7920 and MT7921 use the same chip ID. We use the 8th bit of fw_flavor to distingush MT7920. The original patch made a mistake to check whole fw_flavor, that makes the condition both true (dev_id == 0x7961 && fw_flavor), and makes MT7921 flow wrong. In this patch, we correct the flow to get the 8th bit value for MT7920. And the patch is verified pass with both MT7920 and MT7921. 2024-05-14Bluetooth: hci_bcm: Limit bcm43455 baudrate to 2000000Hans de Goede1-1/+1
Like the bcm43430a0 the bcm43455 BT does not support the 0xfc45 command to set the UART clock to 48 MHz and because of this it does not work at 4000000 baud. These chips are found on ACPI/x86 devices where the operating baudrate does not come from the firmware but is hardcoded at 4000000, which does not work. Make the driver_data for the "BCM2EA4" ACPI HID which is used for the bcm43455 BT point to bcm43430_device_data which limits the baudrate to 2000000. The default device address apparently comes from the NVM configuration file and can differ quite a bit between controllers. Store the default address when parsing the configuration file and use it to determine whether the controller has been provisioned with an address. This makes sure that devices without a unique address start as unconfigured unless a valid address has been provided in the devicetree. 2024-05-03Bluetooth: qca: fix NVM configuration parsingJohan Hovold1-2/+22
The NVM configuration files used by WCN3988 and WCN3990/1/8 have two sets of configuration tags that are enclosed by a type-length header of type four which the current parser fails to account for. Instead the driver happily parses random data as if it were valid tags, something which can lead to the configuration data being corrupted if it ever encounters the words 0x0011 or 0x001b. As is clear from commit b63882549b2b ("Bluetooth: btqca: Fix the NVM baudrate tag offcet for wcn3991") the intention has always been to process the configuration data also for WCN3991 and WCN3998 which encodes the baud rate at a different offset. Fix the parser so that it can handle the WCN3xxx configuration files, which has an enclosing type-length header of type four and two sets of TLV tags enclosed by a type-length header of type two and three, respectively. Note that only the first set, which contains the tags the driver is currently looking for, will be parsed for now. With the parser fixed, the software in-band sleep bit will now be set for WCN3991 and WCN3998 (as it is for later controllers) and the default baud rate 3200000 may be updated by the driver also for WCN3xxx controllers.
