2012-11-15ACPICA: Audit/update for ACPICA return macros and debug depth counterBob Moore1-2/+2
1) Ensure that all functions that use the various TRACE macros also use the appropriate ACPICA return macros. 2) Ensure that all normal return statements surround the return expression (value) with parens. 2012-09-21ACPICA: Table Manager: Merge duplicate code (root table)Lv Zheng1-36/+5
Merge/remove duplicate code in the root table resize functions One function is external, the other is internal. 2012-08-20ACPI: export symbol acpi_get_table_with_sizeAlex Deucher1-0/+1
We need it in the radeon drm module to fetch and verify the vbios image on UEFI systems. Signed-off-by: Alex Deucher <alexander.deucher@amd.com> Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org
2012-07-17ACPICA: AcpiSrc: Fix some translation issues for Linux conversionBob Moore1-9/+9
Fixes issues like this: i_aSL -> iASL 00-7_f -> 00-7F local_fADT -> local_FADT execute_oSI -> execute_OSI Also, in function headers, the parameters are now translated to lower case (with underscores if necessary.) 2012-07-17ACPICA: Add new ACPI table load/unload external interfacesBob Moore1-42/+0
Add acpi_load_table and acpi_unload_parent_table to support host-directed dynamic table load/unload. Intended to support hotplug addition and removal of SSDTs. 2012-07-17ACPICA: Split file: tbxface.c -> tbxfload.cBob Moore1-164/+1
Split out the table load functions in preparation for addition of new interfaces. Signed-off-by: Bob Moore <robert.moore@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Lin Ming <ming.m.lin@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>
2012-01-17ACPICA: Update all copyrights to 2012Bob Moore1-1/+1
Update all copyrights to 2012. Signed-off-by: Bob Moore <robert.moore@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Lin Ming <ming.m.lin@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>
2011-11-01acpi: add export.h to files using THIS_MODULE/EXPORT_SYMBOLPaul Gortmaker1-0/+1
These files were relying on module.h to come in via the path in an include/acpi header file, but we don't want to have instances of module.h being included from include/* files if it can be avoided. Have the files include export.h instead. Signed-off-by: Paul Gortmaker <paul.gortmaker@windriver.com>

2010-05-06ACPICA: Clarify/rename some root table descriptor fieldsBob Moore1-11/+15
Original fields were not very descriptive and led to maintenance problems. New fields should help to understand the existing code. Signed-off-by: Bob Moore <robert.moore@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Lin Ming <ming.m.lin@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>
2010-04-20ACPICA: Update DSDT copy/detection.Bob Moore1-6/+23
Move initialization of DSDT pointer. Emit address of DSDT in the dump of both table headers (good/bad DSDT). Now handles the case where the root table can be reallocated, which would invalidate the original pointer. 2010-04-20ACPICA: Add subsystem option to force copy of DSDT to local memoryLin Ming1-0/+10
Optionally copy the entire DSDT to local memory (instead of simply mapping it.) There are some BIOSs that corrupt or replace the original DSDT, creating the need for this option. Default is FALSE, do not copy the DSDT. https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14679 Signed-off-by: Lin Ming <ming.m.lin@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Bob Moore <robert.moore@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>
2010-04-20ACPICA: Add detection of corrupted/replaced DSDTLin Ming1-20/+12
This change adds support to detect a DSDT that has been corrupted and/or replaced from outside the OS (by firmware). This is typically catastrophic for the system, but has been seen on some machines. https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14679 Signed-off-by: Lin Ming <ming.m.lin@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Bob Moore <robert.moore@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>
2010-04-20ACPICA: Fix for acpi_reallocate_root_table for incorrect root table copyAlexey Starikovskiy1-5/+18
When copying the root table to the new allocation, the length used was incorrect. The new size was used instead of the current table size, meaning too much data was copied. 2010-01-22ACPICA: Update all ACPICA copyrights and signons to 2010Bob Moore1-1/+1
Add 2010 copyright to all module headers and signons, including the Linux header. This affects virtually every file in the ACPICA core subsystem, iASL compiler, and all utilities. 2009-03-26ACPICA: Remove extraneous parameter in table managerBob Moore1-2/+1

2009-03-26ACPICA: Allow OS override of all ACPI tablesBob Moore1-30/+1
Previously, the table override mechanism was implemented for the DSDT only. Now, any table in the RSDT/XSDT can be replaced by the host OS. (including the DSDT). 2009-02-09acpi/x86: introduce __apci_map_table, v4Yinghai Lu1-3/+14
to prevent wrongly overwriting fixmap that still want to use. ACPI used to rely on low mappings being all linearly mapped and grew a habit: it never really unmapped certain kinds of tables after use. This can cause problems - for example the hypothetical case when some spurious access still references it. v2: remove prev_map and prev_size in __apci_map_table v3: let acpi_os_unmap_memory() call early_iounmap too, so remove extral calling to early_acpi_os_unmap_memory v4: fix typo in one acpi_get_table_with_size calling Signed-off-by: Yinghai Lu <yhlu.kernel@gmail.com> Acked-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Ingo Molnar <mingo@elte.hu>
