2013-11-21ACPICA: Resources: Fix loop termination for the get AML length function.Lv Zheng1-2/+7
The loop terminates on a NULL resource pointer, which can never happen since the loop simply increments a valid resource pointer. This fix changes the loop to terminate on an end-of-buffer condition. Problem can be seen by callers to AcpiSetCurrentResources with an invalid or corrupted resource descriptor; or a resource descriptor without an END_TAG descriptor. Add checks for zero-length resource descriptors in all code that loops through a resource descriptor list. This prevents possible infinite loops because the length is used to increment the traveral pointer and detect the end-of-descriptor. 2013-01-10ACPICA: Debugger: Major update for the Disassemble<method> command.Bob Moore1-1/+3
This command was downreved and did not properly disassemble control methods with any reasonable complexity. This fix brings the command up to the same level as the rest of the disassembler. Adds one new file, dmdeferred.c, which is existing code that is now common with the main disassembler and the debugger disassembl command. 2013-01-10ACPICA: Cleanup coding style to reduce differences between Linux and ACPICA.Lv Zheng1-1/+1
This is a cosmetic patch only. Comparison of the resulting binary showed only line number differences. This patch does not affect the generation of the Linux binary. This patch decreases 314 lines of 20121018 divergence.diff. ACPICA core uses ()'s on return statements. This is a known and committed differences from Linux standard coding style. This patch cleans up the Linux side ACPICA code to use this codying style in order to reduce the source code differences between Linux and ACPICA. 2012-11-15ACPICA: Fix indent caused divergences.Lv Zheng1-2/+1
New version of "indent" program will generate different outputs that will lead to the divergences between the Linux and the ACPICA. This patch fixes such divergences caused by the "indent" program. The version of the "indent" used for this patch is "GNU indent 2.2.11". This patch will not affect the generated vmlinux binary. This will decrease 581 lines of 20120913 divergence.diff. 2009-05-02acpica: validate package element more carefully in ↵Robert Moore1-0/+7
acpi_rs_get_pci_routing_table_length acpi_rs_get_pci_routing_table_length is not performing sufficient validation on the package returned from _PRT. It assumes a package of packages and fails/faults if this is not the case. We should validate each subpackage when extracted from the parent package, and not accept objects of the wrong type, since that will just cause the scanning to fail (likely with a kernel oops).
