[ Upstream commit 38953513d7313992676d4136cd425cdb70c6278e ] amdxdna_cmd_submit() calls xdna->dev_info->ops->cmd_submit() unconditionally, but only aie2_dev_ops defines that callback. aie4_vf_ops (the AIE4 SR-IOV virtual function) does not, so a user AMDXDNA_EXEC_CMD ioctl on an AIE4 device reaches a NULL function-pointer call and oopses the kernel. AIE4 submits work through a mapped user queue and doorbell, not this ioctl path. Reject the submission early with -EOPNOTSUPP when the device provides no cmd_submit op, so the shared EXEC ioctl is a clean no-op on such devices. [ Upstream commit faebb7ba1ac65fa5810b640df02ce04e509fdc11 ] amdxdna_cmd_submit() stores current->mm in job->mm without holding any reference. aie2_sched_job_run() later access job->mm from the DRM scheduler worker thread. With only a raw pointer and no structural reference, the mm_struct can be freed before the scheduler runs the job. Fix this by calling mmgrab() to hold a structural mm_count reference for the lifetime of the job, paired with mmdrop() in every cleanup path. Read the LNL interrupt status register instead. commit ddb44baed257560f192b145ed36cf8c0a412de47 upstream. fw_log_from_bo() validates the tracing buffer header_size and that the log fits within the BO, but never checks that log->size is at least log->header_size. fw_log_print_buffer() then computes: u32 data_size = log->size - log->header_size; which underflows to a near-U32_MAX value when firmware reports a log whose size is smaller than its header. That huge data_size defeats the log_start/log_end bounds clamps added by commit dd1311bcf0e6 ("accel/ivpu: Add bounds checks for firmware log indices"), so fw_log_print_lines() reads far past the small real data region of the BO. A size of 0 also makes fw_log_from_bo() advance the offset by 0, causing the callers to loop forever on the same header. Reject logs whose size is smaller than the header (which also rejects size == 0). When vm_insert_pages() fails, the error path calls vma->vm_ops->close(vma) which internally calls drm_gem_vm_close() → drm_gem_object_put(), releasing the GEM object reference acquired at the start of the function. However, the close_vma label then falls through to put_obj, which calls drm_gem_object_put() a second time on the same object. If the first put releases the last reference, the object is freed and the second put accesses freed memory, causing a use-after-free. Fix by returning directly from close_vma instead of falling through to put_obj, since the close handler already performs all necessary cleanup including the object put. If aie2_populate_range() runs concurrently, it may obtain a reference to an amdxdna_umap that is being released, leading to a potential use-after-free. Use kref_get_unless_zero() in aie2_populate_range() when acquiring a reference. If the reference count has already dropped to zero, release is in progress and the entry is skipped. [ Upstream commit e7ab91e2bf01b024691d6ce488546533943e7a6b ] A command queue is considered valid and usable by the driver only when it has a doorbell ID assigned (db_id != 0), meaning both the FW cmdq creation and doorbell registration completed successfully. However, when either ivpu_register_db() or set_context_sched_properties() fails after ivpu_hws_cmdq_init() has already created the cmdq in FW, the command queue is left registered in FW while the driver treats it as uninitialized (db_id remains 0). On the next submission attempt the driver tries to register the same cmdq again, which fails because FW already has an entry for it. Fix by calling ivpu_jsm_hws_destroy_cmdq() on error paths to properly unwind FW state and allow subsequent registration attempts to succeed. 2026-06-09accel/rocket: fix UAF via dangling GEM handle in create_boDhabaleshwar Das1-5/+12
[ Upstream commit f706e6a4ce75585af979aec3dcbdce68bc76306b ] rocket_ioctl_create_bo() inserts a GEM handle into the file's IDR via drm_gem_handle_create() early on, then performs several operations that can fail (sgt allocation, drm_mm insert, iommu_map). If any fail after the handle is live, the error path calls drm_gem_shmem_object_free() which kfree's the object without removing the handle from the IDR. This leaves a dangling handle pointing to freed slab memory. Any subsequent ioctl using that handle (PREP_BO, FINI_BO, SUBMIT) calls drm_gem_object_lookup() and dereferences freed memory (UAF). Fix by moving drm_gem_handle_create() to after all fallible operations succeed, matching the pattern used by panfrost, lima, and etnaviv. Also fix drm_mm_insert_node_generic() whose return value was silently overwritten by iommu_map_sgtable() on the next line. Add the missing error check. This can cause use after free issues when munmap() unmaps only the VMA region and not the additional mappings. To prevent this, check the remaining size of the VMA before remapping and truncate the remapped length if sg->length is too large. 2026-04-11accel/qaic: Handle DBC deactivation if the owner went awayYoussef Samir1-2/+45
[ Upstream commit 2feec5ae5df785658924ab6bd91280dc3926507c ] When a DBC is released, the device sends a QAIC_TRANS_DEACTIVATE_FROM_DEV transaction to the host over the QAIC_CONTROL MHI channel. QAIC handles this by calling decode_deactivate() to release the resources allocated for that DBC. Since that handling is done in the qaic_manage_ioctl() context, if the user goes away before receiving and handling the deactivation, the host will be out-of-sync with the DBCs available for use, and the DBC resources will not be freed unless the device is removed. If another user loads and requests to activate a network, then the device assigns the same DBC to that network, QAIC will "indefinitely" wait for dbc->in_use = false, leading the user process to hang. As a solution to this, handle QAIC_TRANS_DEACTIVATE_FROM_DEV transactions that are received after the user has gone away. [ Upstream commit f509a081f6a289f7c66856333b3becce7a33c97e ] When rocket_job_init() is called, iommu_group_get() has already been called, therefore we should call iommu_group_put() and make the iommu_group pointer NULL. This aligns with what's done in rocket_core_fini(). If pm_runtime_resume_and_get() somehow fails, not only should rocket_job_fini() be called but we should also unwind everything done before that, that is, disable PM, put the iommu_group, NULLify it and then call rocket_job_fini(). This is exactly what's done in rocket_core_fini() so let's call that function instead of duplicating the code. 2026-03-12net: qrtr: Drop the MHI auto_queue feature for IPCR DL channelsManivannan Sadhasivam1-44/+0
[ Upstream commit 51731792a25cb312ca94cdccfa139eb46de1b2ef ] MHI stack offers the 'auto_queue' feature, which allows the MHI stack to auto queue the buffers for the RX path (DL channel). Though this feature simplifies the client driver design, it introduces race between the client drivers and the MHI stack. For instance, with auto_queue, the 'dl_callback' for the DL channel may get called before the client driver is fully probed. This means, by the time the dl_callback gets called, the client driver's structures might not be initialized, leading to NULL ptr dereference. Currently, the drivers have to workaround this issue by initializing the internal structures before calling mhi_prepare_for_transfer_autoqueue(). But even so, there is a chance that the client driver's internal code path may call the MHI queue APIs before mhi_prepare_for_transfer_autoqueue() is called, leading to similar NULL ptr dereference. This issue has been reported on the Qcom X1E80100 CRD machines affecting boot. So to properly fix all these races, drop the MHI 'auto_queue' feature altogether and let the client driver (QRTR) manage the RX buffers manually. In the QRTR driver, queue the RX buffers based on the ring length during probe and recycle the buffers in 'dl_callback' once they are consumed. This also warrants removing the setting of 'auto_queue' flag from controller drivers. Currently, this 'auto_queue' feature is only enabled for IPCR DL channel. So only the QRTR client driver requires the modification. [ Upstream commit 343f5683cfa443000904c88ce2e23656375fc51c ] The firmware sends a response and interrupts the driver before advancing the mailbox send ring head pointer. As a result, the driver may observe the response and attempt to send a new request before the firmware has updated the head pointer. In this window, the send ring still appears full, causing the driver to incorrectly fail the send operation. This race can be triggered more easily in a multithreaded environment, leading to unexpected and spurious "send ring full" failures. To address this, poll the send ring head pointer for up to 100us before returning a full-ring condition. This allows the firmware time to update the head pointer. [ Upstream commit e0c0891cd63bf8338c25c423e28a5a93aed3d74c ] Ensure that imported buffers are properly mapped and unmapped in the same way as regular buffers to properly handle buffers during device's bind and unbind operations to prevent resource leaks and inconsistent buffer states. Imported buffers are now dma_mapped before submission and dma_unmapped in ivpu_bo_unbind(), guaranteeing they are unmapped when the device is unbound. Add also imported buffers to vdev->bo_list for consistent unmapping on device unbind. The bo->ctx_id is set in open() so imported buffers have a valid context ID. Debug logs have been updated to match the new code structure. The function ivpu_bo_pin() has been renamed to ivpu_bo_bind() to better reflect its purpose, and unbind tests have been refactored for improved coverage and clarity. Currently, if find_and_map_user_pages() takes a DMA xfer request from the user with a length field set to 0, or in a rare case, the host receives QAIC_TRANS_DMA_XFER_CONT from the device where resources->xferred_dma_size is equal to the requested transaction size, the function will return 0 before allocating an sgt or setting the fields of the dma_xfer struct. In that case, encode_addr_size_pairs() will try to access the sgt which will lead to a general protection fault. Return an EINVAL in case the user provides a zero-sized ALP, or the device requests continuation after all of the bytes have been transferred. 2025-10-14accel/qaic: Fix bootlog initialization orderingJeffrey Hugo1-2/+3
As soon as we queue MHI buffers to receive the bootlog from the device, we could be receiving data. Therefore all the resources needed to process that data need to be setup prior to queuing the buffers. We currently initialize some of the resources after queuing the buffers which creates a race between the probe() and any data that comes back from the device. If the uninitialized resources are accessed, we could see page faults. Fix the init ordering to close the race. 2025-09-25accel/habanalabs: add Infineon version checkPavan S1-2/+9
On HL338 ASICs, the Infineon first‑stage firmware is not present and the reported version is 0. In this case printing a version number is misleading, as it suggests valid firmware when it does not exist. Fix this by printing the first‑stage Infineon firmware version only if the reported value is non‑zero. This avoids confusing or incorrect log messages on devices where the first stage is not applicable. Dirty state can occur when the host VM undergoes a reset while the device does not. In such a case, the driver must reset the device before it can be used again. As part of this reset, the device capabilities are zeroed. Therefore, the driver must read the Preboot status again to learn the Preboot state, capabilities, and security configuration.
