2013-01-11arch/um: remove depends on CONFIG_EXPERIMENTALKees Cook1-4/+4
The CONFIG_EXPERIMENTAL config item has not carried much meaning for a while now and is almost always enabled by default. As agreed during the Linux kernel summit, remove it from any "depends on" lines in Kconfigs. 2012-05-22timers: Fixup the Kconfig consolidation falloutThomas Gleixner1-1/+0
Sigh, I missed to check which architecture Kconfig files actually include the core Kconfig file. There are a few which did not. So we broke them. Instead of adding the includes to those, we are better off to move the include to init/Kconfig like we did already with irqs and others. This does not change anything for the architectures using the old style periodic timer mode. It just solves the build wreckage there. For those architectures which use the clock events infrastructure it moves the include of the core Kconfig file to "General setup" which is a way more logical place than having it at random locations specified by the architecture specific Kconfigs. 2011-04-28uml: fix hppfs buildRandy Dunlap1-1/+1
Make HoneyPot ProcFS depend on CONFIG_PROC_FS so that it will build. Recommended by Christoph Hellwig. 2011-01-13um: mark CONFIG_HIGHMEM as brokenRichard Weinberger1-1/+1
Currently CONFIG_HIGHMEM is broken on User Mode Linux. I'm not sure if it worked ever. It doesn't compile and this breaks randomconfig testing. 2010-10-27uml: define CONFIG_NO_DMAFUJITA Tomonori1-0/+3
I think that it's better to detect DMA misuse at build time rather than calling BUG_ON. Architectures that can't do DMA need to define CONFIG_NO_DMA. Thanks to Sam Ravnborg for explaining how CONFIG_NO_DMA and CONFIG_HAS_DMA work: http://marc.info/?l=linux-kernel&m=128359913825550&w=2 HAS_DMA is defined like this: config HAS_DMA boolean depends on !NO_DMA default y So to set HAS_DMA to true an arch should do: 1) Do not define NO_DMA 2) Define NO_DMA abd set it to 'n' Must archs - including um - used principle 1). In the um case we want to say that we do NOT have any DMA. This can be done in two ways. a) define NO_DMA and set it to 'y' b) redefine HAS_DMA and set it to 'n'. The patch you provided used principle b) where other archs use principle a). So I suggest you should use principle a) for um too. 2008-10-23x86, um: get rid of arch/um/Kconfig.archAl Viro1-0/+149
Teach scripts/kconfig/Makefile and top-level Makefile that arch/*/Makefile is allowed to say Kconfig := <whatever I want instead of arch/blah/Kconfig>. Rewrite arch/um/Kconfig and arch/um/Kconfig.<subarch> so that the latter would be top-level one (and include the pieces of the former).
