Don't inherit headers "by chances" from asm/prom.h, asm/mpc52xx.h, asm/pci.h etc... Include the needed headers, and remove asm/prom.h when it was needed exclusively for pulling necessary headers. 2016-07-21powerpc: Move 32-bit probe() machine to later in the boot processBenjamin Herrenschmidt1-3/+1
This converts all the 32-bit platforms to use the expanded device-tree which is a pretty mechanical change. Unlike 64-bit, the 32-bit kernel didn't rely on platform initializations to setup the MMU since it sets it up entirely before probe_machine() so the move has comparatively less consequences though it's a bigger patch. 2014-09-25powerpc: make of_device_ids constUwe Kleine-König1-1/+1
of_device_ids (i.e. compatible strings and the respective data) are not supposed to change at runtime. All functions working with of_device_ids provided by <linux/of.h> work with const of_device_ids. This allows to mark all struct of_device_id const, too. While touching these line also put the __init annotation at the right position where necessary. CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As a result, the __dev* markings need to be removed. This change removes the use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit from these drivers. Based on patches originally written by Bill Pemberton, but redone by me in order to handle some of the coding style issues better, by hand. 2012-09-12powerpc/fsl-pci: Unify pci/pcie initialization codeJia Hongtao1-9/+4
We unified the Freescale pci/pcie initialization by changing the fsl_pci to a platform driver. In previous PCI code architecture the initialization routine is called at board_setup_arch stage. Now the initialization is done in probe function which is architectural better. Also It's convenient for adding PM support for PCI controller in later patch. Now we registered pci controllers as platform devices. So we combine two initialization code as one platform driver. 2012-06-16powerpc/PCI: move fixup hooks from __init to __devinitSebastian Andrzej Siewior1-1/+1
The fixups are executed once the pci-device is found which is during boot process so __init seems fine as long as the platform does not support hotplug. However it is possible to remove the PCI bus at run time and have it rediscovered again via "echo 1 > /sys/bus/pci/rescan" and this will call the fixups again. 2009-03-24powerpc/86xx: Move gianfar mdio nodes under the ethernet nodesAnton Vorontsov1-0/+1
Currently it doesn't matter where the mdio nodes are placed, but with power management support (i.e. when sleep = <> properties will take effect), mdio nodes placement will become important: mdio controller is a part of the ethernet block, so the mdio nodes should be placed correctly. Otherwise we may wrongly assume that MDIO controllers are available during sleep.
