2017-02-14MIPS: Audit and remove any unnecessary uses of module.hPaul Gortmaker7-7/+10
Historically a lot of these existed because we did not have a distinction between what was modular code and what was providing support to modules via EXPORT_SYMBOL and friends. That changed when we forked out support for the latter into the export.h file. This means we should be able to reduce the usage of module.h in code that is obj-y Makefile or bool Kconfig. In the case of some code where it is modular, we can extend that to also include files that are building basic support functionality but not related to loading or registering the final module; such files also have no need whatsoever for module.h The advantage in removing such instances is that module.h itself sources about 15 other headers; adding significantly to what we feed cpp, and it can obscure what headers we are effectively using. Since module.h might have been the implicit source for init.h (for __init) and for export.h (for EXPORT_SYMBOL) we consider each instance for the presence of either and replace/add as needed. Also note that MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE is a no-op for non-modular code. Build coverage of all the mips defconfigs revealed the module.h header was masking a couple of implicit include instances, so we add the appropriate headers there. 2016-10-04MIPS: BCM63xx: Let clk_disable() return immediately if clk is NULLMasahiro Yamada1-0/+3
In many of clk_disable() implementations, it is a no-op for a NULL pointer input, but this is one of the exceptions. Making it treewide consistent will allow clock consumers to call clk_disable() without NULL pointer check. 2015-10-22spi/bcm63xx: move register definitions into the driverJonas Gorski1-28/+6
Move all register definitions and structs into the driver. This allows us dropping the platform_data struct and drop any arch specific includes. Make use of different device names to identify the version of the block we have. Since we now have full control over the message width, we can drop the size check, which was broken anyway, since it never set ret to any error code. Also since we now have no arch depedendent resources, we can now allow compiling it for any arch, hidden behind COMPILE_TEST. 2015-03-25MIPS: BCM63xx: Move bcm63xx_gpio_init() to bcm63xx_register_devices().Nicolas Schichan2-4/+4
When called from prom init code, bcm63xx_gpio_init() will fail as it will call gpiochip_add() which relies on a working kmalloc() to alloc the gpio_desc array and kmalloc is not useable yet at prom init time. 2014-07-30MIPS: BCM63xx: Replace irq dispatch code with a generic versionJonas Gorski1-74/+56
The generic version uses a variable length of u32 registers instead of u32/u64. This allows easier support for "wider" registers without having to rewrite everything. This "generic" version is as fast as the old version in the best case (i == next set bit), and twice as fast in the worst case in 64 bits. Using a macro was chosen over a (forced) inline version because gcc generated more compact code with the macro. The change from (signed) int to unsigned int for i and to_call was intentional as the value can be only between 0 and (width - 1) anyway, and allowed gcc to optimise the code a bit further. Let each supported chip select the appropirate SYS_HAS_CPU_BMIPS* option for its embedded processor, so support will be conditionally included. Signed-off-by: Jonas Gorski <jogo@openwrt.org> Signed-off-by: John Crispin <blogic@openwrt.org> Patchwork: http://patchwork.linux-mips.org/patch/6250/

2014-01-22MIPS: BMIPS: add a smp ops registration helperJonas Gorski1-1/+1
Add a helper similar to the generic register_XXX_smp_ops() for bmips. Register SMP UP ops in case of BMIPS32/3300. Signed-off-by: Jonas Gorski <jogo@openwrt.org> Signed-off-by: John Crispin <blogic@openwrt.org> Patchwork: http://patchwork.linux-mips.org/patch/6248/
2014-01-22MIPS: BMIPS: change compile time checks to runtime checksJonas Gorski1-1/+1
Allow building for all bmips cpus at the same time by changing ifdefs to checks for the cpu type, or adding appropriate checks to the assembly. Since BMIPS43XX and BMIPS5000 require different IPI implementations, split the SMP ops into one for each, so the runtime overhead is only at registration time for them. This that should have been fixed but weren't, way to much, intrusive and late.
