2014-02-12ARM: qcom: Re-organize platsmp to make it extensibleRohit Vaswani3-69/+65
This makes it easy to add SMP support for new devices by keying on a device node for the release sequence. We add the enable-method property for the cpus property to specify that we want to use the gcc-msm8660 release sequence (which is going to look for the global clock controller device node to map some Scorpion specific power and control registers). We also remove the nr_cpus detection code as that is done generically in the DT CPU detection code. 2014-02-12ARM: Introduce CPU_METHOD_OF_DECLARE() for cpu hotplug/smpStephen Boyd2-0/+49
The goal of multi-platform kernels is to remove the need for mach directories and machine descriptors. To further that goal, introduce CPU_METHOD_OF_DECLARE() to allow cpu hotplug/smp support to be separated from the machine descriptors. Implementers should specify an enable-method property in their cpus node and then implement a matching set of smp_ops in their hotplug/smp code, wiring it up with the CPU_METHOD_OF_DECLARE() macro. When the kernel is compiled we'll collect all the enable-method smp_ops into one section for use at boot. At boot time we'll look for an enable-method in each cpu node and try to match that against all known CPU enable methods in the kernel. If there are no enable-methods in the cpu nodes we fallback to the cpus node and try to use any enable-method found there. If that doesn't work we fall back to the old way of using the machine descriptor. 2014-02-10ARM: imx6: Initialize low-power mode early againPhilipp Zabel3-2/+6
Since commit 9e8147bb5ec5d1dda2141da70f96b98985a306cb "ARM: imx6q: move low-power code out of clock driver" the kernel fails to boot on i.MX6Q/D if preemption is enabled (CONFIG_PREEMPT=y). The kernel just hangs before the console comes up. The above commit moved the initalization of the low-power mode setting (enabling clocked WAIT states), which was introduced in commit 83ae20981ae924c37d02a42c829155fc3851260c "ARM: imx: correct low-power mode setting", from imx6q_clks_init to imx6q_pm_init. Now it is called much later, after all cores are enabled. This patch moves the low-power mode initialization back to imx6q_clks_init again (and to imx6sl_clks_init). 2014-02-10ARM: pxa: fix various compilation problemsLinus Walleij15-1/+25
Due to commit 88f718e3fa4d67f3a8dbe79a2f97d722323e4051 "ARM: pxa: delete the custom GPIO header" some drivers fail compilation, for example like this: In file included from sound/soc/pxa/spitz.c:28:0: sound/soc/pxa/spitz.c: In function ‘spitz_ext_control’: arch/arm/mach-pxa/include/mach/spitz.h:111:30: error: ‘PXA_NR_BUILTIN_GPIO’ undeclared (first use in this function) #define SPITZ_SCP_GPIO_BASE (PXA_NR_BUILTIN_GPIO) (etc.) This is caused by implicit inclusion of <mach/irqs.h> from various board-specific headers under <mach/*> in the PXA platform. So we take a sweep over these, and for every such header that uses PXA_NR_BUILTIN_GPIO or PXA_GPIO_TO_IRQ() we explicitly #include "irqs.h" so that we satisfy the dependency in the board include file alone. Reported-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de> Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org> Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org # v3.13+ Signed-off-by: Kevin Hilman <khilman@linaro.org>
2014-02-10ARM: pxa: fix compilation problem on AM300EPD boardLinus Walleij1-0/+1
This board fails compilation like this: arch/arm/mach-pxa/am300epd.c: In function ‘am300_cleanup’: arch/arm/mach-pxa/am300epd.c:179:2: error: implicit declaration of function ‘PXA_GPIO_TO_IRQ’ [-Werror=implicit-function-declaration] free_irq(PXA_GPIO_TO_IRQ(RDY_GPIO_PIN), par); This was caused by commit 88f718e3fa4d67f3a8dbe79a2f97d722323e4051 "ARM: pxa: delete the custom GPIO header" This is because it was previously getting the macro PXA_GPIO_TO_IRQ implicitly from <linux/gpio.h> which in turn implicitly included <mach/gpio.h> which in turn included <mach/irqs.h>. Add the missing include so that the board compiles again. Some of them are fixes, but a good number of them also do things such as enable new drivers in the defconfigs for platforms that have such devices, increases coverage of the multiplatform defconfig and some DTS changes that plumbs up some of the devices that now have bindings and driver support. The commit dates are recent; we've mostly collected these fixes in the last few days but I also had to rebuild the branch yesterday to sort out some internal conflicts which reset the timestamps. 2014-02-01ARM: tegra: rebuild tegra_defconfig to add DEBUG_FSStephen Warren1-8/+3
DEBUG_FS used to be selected by COMMON_CLK_DEBUG, which was enabled by tegra_defconfig. However, this config option no longer exists, so no longer selects DEBUG_FS, and nothing else selects it either. So, "make tegra_defconfig" no longer enables DEBUG_FS in .config. Rebuild tegra_defconfig on top of next-20140424, while manually re-enabling DEBUG_FS. Reasons for removed entries are: - I2C_MUX: selected by MEDIA_SUBDRV_AUTOSELECT - DRM_PANEL: selected by DRM_TEGRA - NEW_LEDS: selected by many things; at least VT - LEDS_CLASS: selected by many things; at least VT - LEDS_TRIGGERS: selected by many things; at least VT - COMMON_CLK_DEBUG: no longer exists Signed-off-by: Stephen Warren <swarren@nvidia.com> Signed-off-by: Kevin Hilman <khilman@linaro.org>
2014-02-01ARM: multi_v7: copy most options from tegra_defconfigStephen Warren1-11/+142
multi_v7_defconfig was missing a large number of options that were in tegra_defconfig. This patch adds them. The changes fall into the following categories: * Enable more Tegra SoC options/drivers. * Enable more drivers for Tegra boards. * Enable more options that are useful for running distros. The patch removes a few lines as well, simply because those options are now selected by something else, and "make savedefconfig" removes them. I verified that the options appear in .config after "make multi_v7_defconfig". This driver is for an old hardware and uses a deprecated Kernel internal API. If nobody cares enough to fix it, it would be removed on a couple Kernel releases - the sn9c102 driver was moved to staging. This driver was replaced by gspca, and disabled on some distros, as almost all devices are known to work properly with gspca.
