commit 8b3405e345b5a098101b0c31b264c812bba045d9 upstream. In kvm_free_stage2_pgd() we don't hold the kvm->mmu_lock while calling unmap_stage2_range() on the entire memory range for the guest. This could cause problems with other callers (e.g, munmap on a memslot) trying to unmap a range. And since we have to unmap the entire Guest memory range holding a spinlock, make sure we yield the lock if necessary, after we unmap each PUD range. 2017-01-27ARM: dts: da850-evm: fix read access to SPI flashFabien Parent1-0/+1
commit 43849785e1079f6606a31cb7fda92d1200849728 upstream. Read access to the SPI flash are broken on da850-evm, i.e. the data read is not what is actually programmed on the flash. According to the datasheet for the M25P64 part present on the da850-evm, if the SPI frequency is higher than 20MHz then the READ command is not usable anymore and only the FAST_READ command can be used to read data. This commit specifies in the DTS that we should use FAST_READ command instead of the READ command. 2017-01-27ARM: 8634/1: hw_breakpoint: blacklist Scorpion CPUsMark Rutland2-0/+19
commit ddc37832a1349f474c4532de381498020ed71d31 upstream. On APQ8060, the kernel crashes in arch_hw_breakpoint_init, taking an undefined instruction trap within write_wb_reg. This is because Scorpion CPUs erroneously appear to set DBGPRSR.SPD when WFI is issued, even if the core is not powered down. When DBGPRSR.SPD is set, breakpoint and watchpoint registers are treated as undefined. It's possible to trigger similar crashes later on from userspace, by requesting the kernel to install a breakpoint or watchpoint, as we can go idle at any point between the reset of the debug registers and their later use. This has always been the case. Given that this has always been broken, no-one has complained until now, and there is no clear workaround, disable hardware breakpoints and watchpoints on Scorpion to avoid these issues. However, the percpu allocator never supported alignments which are not power of two and has always behaved incorectly in thise case. Commit 3ca45a4 "percpu: ensure requested alignment is power of two" introduced a check which trigger a warning [1] when booting linux-next on Xen. But in reality this bug was always present. This can be fixed by replacing the call to __alloc_percpu with alloc_percpu. The latter will use an alignment which are a power of two. Adding a cast to (u32) is a harmless way to shut up the warning, just not very nice. 2016-10-07ARM: sa1111: fix pcmcia suspend/resumeRussell King1-9/+13
commit 06dfe5cc0cc684e735cb0232fdb756d30780b05d upstream. SA1111 PCMCIA was broken when PCMCIA switched to using dev_pm_ops for the PCMCIA socket class. PCMCIA used to handle suspend/resume via the socket hosting device, which happened at normal device suspend/resume time. However, the referenced commit changed this: much of the resume now happens much earlier, in the noirq resume handler of dev_pm_ops. However, on SA1111, the PCMCIA device is not accessible as the SA1111 has not been resumed at _noirq time. It's slightly worse than that, because the SA1111 has already been put to sleep at _noirq time, so suspend doesn't work properly. Fix this by converting the core SA1111 code to use dev_pm_ops as well, and performing its own suspend/resume at noirq time. This fixes these errors in the kernel log: pcmcia_socket pcmcia_socket0: time out after reset pcmcia_socket pcmcia_socket1: time out after reset and the resulting lack of PCMCIA cards after a S2RAM cycle. commit 117e5e9c4cfcb7628f08de074fbfefec1bb678b7 upstream. If the bootloader uses the long descriptor format and jumps to kernel decompressor code, TTBCR may not be in a right state. Before enabling the MMU, it is required to clear the TTBCR.PD0 field to use TTBR0 for translation table walks. The commit dbece45894d3a ("ARM: 7501/1: decompressor: reset ttbcr for VMSA ARMv7 cores") does the reset of TTBCR.N, but doesn't consider all the bits for the size of TTBCR.N. Clear TTBCR.PD0 field and reset all the three bits of TTBCR.N to indicate the use of TTBR0 and the correct base address width. Whilst MPIDR values themselves are less than 32 bits, it is still perfectly valid for a DT to have #address-cells > 1 in the CPUs node, resulting in the "reg" property having leading zero cell(s). In that situation, the big-endian nature of the data conspires with the current behaviour of only reading the first cell to cause the kernel to think all CPUs have ID 0, and become resoundingly unhappy as a consequence. Take the full property length into account when parsing CPUs so as to be correct under any circumstances. On arm/arm64, we depend on the kvm_unmap_hva* callbacks (via mmu_notifiers::invalidate_*) to unmap the stage2 pagetables when the userspace buffer gets unmapped. However, when the Hypervisor process exits without explicit unmap of the guest buffers, the only notifier we get is kvm_arch_flush_shadow_all() (via mmu_notifier::release ) which does nothing on arm. Later this causes us to access pages that were already released [via exit_mmap() -> unmap_vmas()] when we actually get to unmap the stage2 pagetable [via kvm_arch_destroy_vm() -> kvm_free_stage2_pgd()]. Unfortunately this definition clashes with pmd_none, thus it is possible for a race condition to occur if zap_pmd_range sees pmd_none whilst __split_huge_pmd_locked is running too with pmdp_invalidate just called. This patch fixes the race condition by modifying pmd_mknotpresent to create non-zero faulting entries (as is done in other architectures), removing the ambiguity with pmd_none. In a subsequent patch, pmd_mknotpresent will clear the valid bit of the pmd entry, resulting in a not-present entry from the hardware's perspective. Unfortunately, pmd_present simply checks for a non-zero pmd value and will therefore continue to return true even after a pmd_mknotpresent operation. Since pmd_mknotpresent is only used for managing huge entries, this is only an issue for the 3-level case. This patch fixes the 3-level pmd_present implementation to take into account the valid bit. For bisectability, the change is made before the fix to pmd_mknotpresent. Specifically vfp_flush_hwstate() sets thread->vfpstate.hard.cpu to an invalid CPU number, but vfp_set() overwrites this with the original CPU number, thereby rendering the hardware state as apparently "valid", even though the software state is more recent. Fix this by reverting the previous change. Turns out this error is because of missing ENDPROC for assembly code as suggested by Stephen Boyd <sboyd@codeaurora.org>. Let's fix the problem by adding ENDPROC in two places to sleep34xx.S. Let's also remove the now duplicate custom code for mode switching. This has been unnecessary since commit 6ebbf2ce437b ("ARM: convert all "mov.* pc, reg" to "bx reg" for ARMv6+"). And let's also remove the comments about local variables, they are now just confusing after the ENDPROC. 2016-02-24ARM: 8517/1: ICST: avoid arithmetic overflow in icst_hz()Linus Walleij1-2/+6

When trying to set the ICST 307 clock to 25174000 Hz I ran into this arithmetic error: the icst_hz_to_vco() correctly figure out DIVIDE=2, RDW=100 and VDW=99 yielding a frequency of 25174000 Hz out of the VCO. (I replicated the icst_hz() function in a spreadsheet to verify this.) However, when I called icst_hz() on these VCO settings it would instead return 4122709 Hz. This causes an error in the common clock driver for ICST as the common clock framework will call .round_rate() on the clock which will utilize icst_hz_to_vco() followed by icst_hz() suggesting the erroneous frequency, and then the clock gets set to this. The error did not manifest in the old clock framework since this high frequency was only used by the CLCD, which calls clk_set_rate() without first calling clk_round_rate() and since the old clock framework would not call clk_round_rate() before setting the frequency, the correct values propagated into the VCO. After some experimenting I figured out that it was due to a simple arithmetic overflow: the divisor for 24Mhz reference frequency as reference becomes 24000000*2*(99+8)=0x132212400 and the "1" in bit 32 overflows and is lost. But introducing an explicit 64-by-32 bit do_div() and casting the divisor into (u64) we get the right frequency back, and the right frequency gets set. Tested on the ARM Versatile. In cpu_v7_do_suspend routine, r11 is used while it is NOT saved/restored, different compiler may have different usage of ARM general registers, so it may cause issues during calling cpu_v7_do_suspend. We meet kernel fault occurs when using GCC 4.8.3, r11 contains valid value before calling into cpu_v7_do_suspend, but when returned from this routine, r11 is corrupted and lead to kernel fault. Doing save/restore for those corrupted registers is a must in assemble code. This is a known but as yet unresolved issue. (https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=65932). In this particular case, it is causing the second while loop to be executed erroneously a single time, causing the additional space characters to be printed. So disable the optimization by passing -fno-ipa-sra. 2015-10-27ARM: fix Thumb2 signal handling when ARMv6 is enabledRussell King1-5/+10
commit 9b55613f42e8d40d5c9ccb8970bde6af4764b2ab upstream. When a kernel is built covering ARMv6 to ARMv7, we omit to clear the IT state when entering a signal handler. This can cause the first few instructions to be conditionally executed depending on the parent context. In any case, the original test for >= ARMv7 is broken - ARMv6 can have Thumb-2 support as well, and an ARMv6T2 specific build would omit this code too. Relax the test back to ARMv6 or greater. This results in us always clearing the IT state bits in the PSR, even on CPUs where these bits are reserved. However, they're reserved for the IT state, so this should cause no harm. commit 47933ad41a86a4a9b50bed7c9b9bd2ba242aac63 upstream. A number of situations currently require the heavyweight smp_mb(), even though there is no need to order prior stores against later loads. Many architectures have much cheaper ways to handle these situations, but the Linux kernel currently has no portable way to make use of them. This commit therefore supplies smp_load_acquire() and smp_store_release() to remedy this situation. The new smp_load_acquire() primitive orders the specified load against any subsequent reads or writes, while the new smp_store_release() primitive orders the specifed store against any prior reads or writes. These primitives allow array-based circular FIFOs to be implemented without an smp_mb(), and also allow a theoretical hole in rcu_assign_pointer() to be closed at no additional expense on most architectures. In addition, the RCU experience transitioning from explicit smp_read_barrier_depends() and smp_wmb() to rcu_dereference() and rcu_assign_pointer(), respectively resulted in substantial improvements in readability. It therefore seems likely that replacing other explicit barriers with smp_load_acquire() and smp_store_release() will provide similar benefits. For hwmods without sysc, _init_mpu_rt_base(oh) won't be called and so _find_mpu_rt_port(oh) will return NULL thus preventing ready state check on those modules after the module is enabled. This can potentially cause a bus access error if the module is accessed before the module is ready. Fix this by unconditionally calling _init_mpu_rt_base() during hwmod _init(). Do ioremap only if we need SYSC access. Eventhough _wait_target_ready() check doesn't really need MPU RT port but just the PRCM registers, we still mandate that the hwmod must have an MPU RT port if ready state check needs to be done. Else it would mean that the module is not accessible by MPU so there is no point in waiting for target to be ready. e.g. this fixes the below DCAN bus access error on AM437x-gp-evm. commit 85e84ba31039595995dae80b277378213602891b upstream. On VM entry, we disable access to the VFP registers in order to perform a lazy save/restore of these registers. On VM exit, we restore access, test if we did enable them before, and save/restore the guest/host registers if necessary. In this sequence, the FPEXC register is always accessed, irrespective of the trapping configuration. If the guest didn't touch the VFP registers, then the HCPTR access has now enabled such access, but we're missing a barrier to ensure architectural execution of the new HCPTR configuration. If the HCPTR access has been delayed/reordered, the subsequent access to FPEXC will cause a trap, which we aren't prepared to handle at all. The same condition exists when trapping to enable VFP for the guest. The fix is to introduce a barrier after enabling VFP access. In the vmexit case, it can be relaxed to only takes place if the guest hasn't accessed its view of the VFP registers, making the access to FPEXC safe. The set_hcptr macro is modified to deal with both vmenter/vmexit and vmtrap operations, and now takes an optional label that is branched to when the guest hasn't touched the VFP registers. If the syscall is entered without TIF_SYSCALL_TRACE set, then it goes on the fast path. It's then possible to have TIF_SYSCALL_TRACE added in the middle of the syscall, but ret_fast_syscall doesn't check this flag again. Fix this by always checking for a syscall trace in the fast exit path.
