2016-11-29ARM: mm: allow set_memory_*() to be used on the vmalloc regionRussell King1-1/+2
We can allow modules to be loaded into the vmalloc region, where they should also benefit from the same protections as those loaded into the more efficient module region. Allow these functions to operate there as well. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@armlinux.org.uk>
2016-11-29ARM: mm: fix set_memory_*() bounds checksRussell King1-13/+13
The set_memory_*() bounds checks are buggy on several fronts: 1. They fail to round the region size up if the passed address is not page aligned. 2. The region check was incomplete, and didn't correspond with what was being asked of apply_to_page_range() So, rework change_memory_common() to fix these problems, adding an "in_region()" helper to determine whether the start & size fit within the provided region start and stop addresses. 2016-03-05ARM: 8544/1: set_memory_xx fixesMika Penttilä1-0/+3
Allow zero size updates. This makes set_memory_xx() consistent with x86, s390 and arm64 and makes apply_to_page_range() not to BUG() when loading modules. Signed-off-by: Mika Penttilä mika.penttila@nextfour.com Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2015-03-18ARM: 8311/1: Don't use is_module_addr in setting page attributesLaura Abbott1-1/+4
The set_memory_* functions currently only support module addresses. The addresses are validated using is_module_addr. That function is special though and relies on internal state in the module subsystem to work properly. At the time of module initialization and calling set_memory_*, it's too early for is_module_addr to work properly so it always returns false. Rather than be subject to the whims of the module state, just bounds check against the module virtual address range. 2014-12-03ARM: 8238/1: mm: Refine set_memory_* functionsJungseung Lee1-0/+91
set_memory_* functions have same implementation except memory attribute. This patch makes to use common function for these, and pull out the functions into arch/arm/mm/pageattr.c like arm64 did. It will reduce code size and enhance the readability. Signed-off-by: Jungseung Lee <js07.lee@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
