commit 25de4ce5ed02994aea8bc111d133308f6fd62566 upstream.
There is a timer wrap issue on dra7 for the ARM architected timer.
In a typical clock configuration the timer fails to wrap after 388 days.
To work around the issue, we need to use timer-ti-dm percpu timers instead.
Let's configure dmtimer3 and 4 as percpu timers by default, and warn about
the issue if the dtb is not configured properly.

commit 3efe7a878a11c13b5297057bfc1e5639ce1241ce upstream.
There is a timer wrap issue on dra7 for the ARM architected timer.
In a typical clock configuration the timer fails to wrap after 388 days.
To work around the issue, we need to use timer-ti-dm timers instead.
Let's prepare for adding support for percpu timers by adding a common
dmtimer_clkevt_init_common() and call it from __omap_sync32k_timer_init().

commit 52762fbd1c4778ac9b173624ca0faacd22ef4724 upstream.
We can move the TI dmtimer clockevent and clocksource to live under
drivers/clocksource if we rely only on the clock framework, and handle
the module configuration directly in the clocksource driver based on the
device tree data.
This removes the early dependency with system timers to the interconnect
related code, and we can probe pretty much everything else later on at
the module_init level.
Let's first add a new driver for timer-ti-dm-systimer based on existing
arch/arm/mach-omap2/timer.c. Then let's start moving SoCs to probe with
device tree data while still keeping the old timer.c. And eventually we
can just drop the old timer.c.
Let's take the opportunity to switch to use readl/writel as pointed out
by Daniel Lezcano <daniel.lezcano@linaro.org>. This allows further
clean-up of the timer-ti-dm code the a lot of the shared helpers can
just become static to the non-syster related code.
Note the boards can optionally configure different timer source clocks
if needed with assigned-clocks and assigned-clock-parents.

commit b75ca5217743e4d7076cf65e044e88389e44318d upstream.
request_irq() is preferred over setup_irq(). Invocations of setup_irq()
occur after memory allocators are ready.
Per tglx[1], setup_irq() existed in olden days when allocators were not
ready by the time early interrupts were initialized.
Hence replace setup_irq() by request_irq().

commit ec76c2eea903947202098090bbe07a739b5246e9 upstream.
On the GTA04A5 od->_driver_status was not set to BUS_NOTIFY_BIND_DRIVER
during probe of the second mmc used for wifi. Therefore
omap_device_late_idle idled the device during probing causing oopses when
accessing the registers.
It was not set because od->_state was set to OMAP_DEVICE_STATE_IDLE
in the notifier callback. Therefore set od->_driver_status also in that
case.
This came apparent after commit 21b2cec61c04 ("mmc: Set

oops:

Commit 0ed266d7ae5e ("clk: ti: omap3: cleanup unnecessary clock aliases")
removed old omap3 clock framework aliases but caused omap3-rom-rng to
stop working with clock not found error.
Based on discussions on the mailing list it was requested by Tero Kristo
that it would be best to fix this issue by probing omap3-rom-rng using
device tree to provide a proper clk property. The other option would be
to add back the missing clock alias, but that does not help moving things
forward with removing old legacy platform_data.
Let's also add a proper device tree binding and keep it together with
the fix.

Commit 747834ab8347 ("ARM: OMAP2+: hwmod: revise hardreset behavior") made
the call to _enable() conditional based on no oh->rst_lines_cnt. This
caused the return value to be potentially uninitialized. Curiously we see
no compiler warnings for this, probably as this gets inlined.
We call _setup_reset() from _setup() and only _setup_postsetup() if the
return value is zero. Currently the return value can be uninitialized for
cases where oh->rst_lines_cnt is set and HWMOD_INIT_NO_RESET is not set.

This code is currently unable to find the dts opp tables as ti-cpufreq
needs to set them up first based on speed binning.
We stopped initializing the opp tables with platform code years ago for
device tree based booting with commit 92d51856d740 ("ARM: OMAP3+: do not
register non-dt OPP tables for device tree boot"), and all of mach-omap2
is now booting using device tree.
We currently get the following errors on init:
omap2_set_init_voltage: unable to find boot up OPP for vdd_mpu
omap2_set_init_voltage: unable to set vdd_mpu
omap2_set_init_voltage: unable to find boot up OPP for vdd_core

[ Upstream commit 8ad8041b98c665b6147e607b749586d6e20ba73a ]
For ti,sysc-omap4 compatible devices with no sysstatus register, we do have
reset done status available in the SOFTRESET bit that clears when the reset
is done. This is documented for example in am437x TRM for DMTIMER_TIOCP_CFG
register. The am335x TRM just says that SOFTRESET bit value 1 means reset is
ongoing, but it behaves the same way clearing after reset is done.
With the ti-sysc driver handling this automatically based on no sysstatus
register defined, we see warnings if SYSC_HAS_RESET_STATUS is missing in the
legacy platform data:
ti-sysc 48042000.target-module: sysc_flags 00000222 != 00000022
ti-sysc 48044000.target-module: sysc_flags 00000222 != 00000022
ti-sysc 48046000.target-module: sysc_flags 00000222 != 00000022
...
Let's fix these warnings by adding SYSC_HAS_RESET_STATUS. Let's also
remove the useless parentheses while at it.
If it turns out we do have ti,sysc-omap4 compatible devices without a
working SOFTRESET bit we can set up additional quirk handling for it.

[ Upstream commit 5388a5b82199facacd3d7ac0d05aca6e8f902fed ]
machine_crash_nonpanic_core() does this:
while (1)
cpu_relax();
because the kernel has crashed, and we have no known safe way to deal
with the CPU. So, we place the CPU into an infinite loop which we
expect it to never exit - at least not until the system as a whole is
reset by some method.
In the absence of erratum 754327, this code assembles to:
b .
In other words, an infinite loop. When erratum 754327 is enabled,
this becomes:
1: dmb
b 1b
It has been observed that on some systems (eg, OMAP4) where, if a
crash is triggered, the system tries to kexec into the panic kernel,
but fails after taking the secondary CPU down - placing it into one
of these loops. This causes the system to livelock, and the most
noticable effect is the system stops after issuing:
Loading crashdump kernel...
to the system console.
The tested as working solution I came up with was to add wfe() to
these infinite loops thusly:
while (1) {
cpu_relax();
wfe();
}
which, without 754327 builds to:
1: wfe
b 1b
or with 754327 is enabled:
1: dmb
wfe
b 1b
Adding "wfe" does two things depending on the environment we're running
under:
- where we're running on bare metal, and the processor implements
"wfe", it stops us spinning endlessly in a loop where we're never
going to do any useful work.
- if we're running in a VM, it allows the CPU to be given back to the
hypervisor and rescheduled for other purposes (maybe a different VM)
rather than wasting CPU cycles inside a crashed VM.
However, in light of erratum 794072, Will Deacon wanted to see 10 nops
as well - which is reasonable to cover the case where we have erratum
754327 enabled _and_ we have a processor that doesn't implement the
wfe hint.
So, we now end up with:
1: wfe
b 1b
when erratum 754327 is disabled, or:
1: dmb
nop
nop
nop
nop
nop
nop
nop
nop
nop
nop
wfe
b 1b
when erratum 754327 is enabled. We also get the dmb + 10 nop
sequence elsewhere in the kernel, in terminating loops.
This is reasonable - it means we get the workaround for erratum
794072 when erratum 754327 is enabled, but still relinquish the dead
processor - either by placing it in a lower power mode when wfe is
implemented as such or by returning it to the hypervisior, or in the
case where wfe is a no-op, we use the workaround specified in erratum
794072 to avoid the problem.
These as two entirely orthogonal problems - the 10 nops addresses
erratum 794072, and the wfe is an optimisation that makes the system
more efficient when crashed either in terms of power consumption or
by allowing the host/other VMs to make use of the CPU.
I don't see any reason not to use kexec() inside a VM - it has the
potential to provide automated recovery from a failure of the VMs
kernel with the opportunity for saving a crashdump of the failure.
A panic() with a reboot timeout won't do that, and reading the
libvirt documentation, setting on_reboot to "preserve" won't either
(the documentation states "The preserve action for an on_reboot event
is treated as a destroy".) Surely it has to be a good thing to
avoiding having CPUs spinning inside a VM that is doing no useful
work.

[ Upstream commit 50d6b3cf9403879911e06d69c7ef41e43f8f7b4b ]
If we have a kernel configured for periodic timer interrupts, and we
have cpuidle enabled, then we end up with CPU1 losing timer interupts
after a hotplug.
This can manifest itself in RCU stall warnings, or userspace becoming
unresponsive.
The problem is that the kernel initially wants to use the TWD timer
for interrupts, but the TWD loses context when we enter the C3 cpuidle
state. Nothing reprograms the TWD after idle.
We have solved this in the past by switching to broadcast timer ticks,
and cpuidle44xx switches to that mode at boot time. However, there is
nothing to switch from periodic mode local timers after a hotplug
operation.
We call tick_broadcast_enter() in omap_enter_idle_coupled(), which one
would expect would take care of the issue, but internally this only
deals with one-shot local timers - tick_broadcast_enable() on the other
hand only deals with periodic local timers. So, we need to call both.

commit d0243693fbf6fbd48b4efb2ba7210765983b03e3 upstream.
Commit 83a86fbb5b56 ("irqchip/gic: Loudly complain about the use of
IRQ_TYPE_NONE") started warning about incorrect dts usage for irqs.
ARM GIC only supports active-high interrupts for SPI (Shared Peripheral
Interrupts), and the Palmas PMIC by default is active-low.
Palmas PMIC allows changing the interrupt polarity using register
PALMAS_POLARITY_CTRL_INT_POLARITY, but configuring sys_nirq1 with
a pull-down and setting PALMAS_POLARITY_CTRL_INT_POLARITY made the
Palmas RTC interrupts stop working. This can be easily tested with
kernel tools rtctest.c.
Turns out the SoC inverts the sys_nirq pins for GIC as they do not go
through a peripheral device but go directly to the MPUSS wakeupgen.
I've verified this by muxing the interrupt line temporarily to gpio_wk16
instead of sys_nirq1. with a gpio, the interrupt works fine both
active-low and active-high with the SoC internal pull configured and
palmas polarity configured. But as sys_nirq1, the interrupt only works
when configured ACTIVE_LOW for palmas, and ACTIVE_HIGH for GIC.
Note that there was a similar issue earlier with tegra114 and palmas
interrupt polarity that got fixed by commit df545d1cd01a ("mfd: palmas:
Provide irq flags through DT/platform data"). However, the difference
between omap5 and tegra114 is that tegra inverts the palmas interrupt
twice, once when entering tegra PMC, and again when exiting tegra PMC
to GIC.
Let's fix the issue by adding a custom wakeupgen_irq_set_type() for
wakeupgen and invert any interrupts with wrong polarity. Let's also
warn about any non-sysnirq pins using wrong polarity. Note that we
also need to update the dts for the level as IRQ_TYPE_NONE never
has irq_set_type() called, and let's add some comments and use proper
pin nameing to avoid more confusion later on.

_setup is used in omap_hwmod_allocate_module, which isn't marked __init

If we use device tree data for a module interconnect target we want
to map the control registers from the module start. Legacy hwmod platform
data however is using child IP offsets for cpsw module with mpu_rt_idx.
In cases where we have the interconnect target module already using device
tree data with legacy hwmod platform data still around, the sysc register
area is not adjusted for mpu_rt_idx causing wrong registers being accessed.
Let's fix the issue for mixed dts and platform data mode by ioremapping
the module registers using child IP offset if mpu_rt_idx is set. For
device tree only data there's no reason to use mpu_rt_idx.

Call secure services to enable ACTLR[0] (Enable invalidates of BTB with
ICIALLU) when branch hardening is enabled for kernel.
On GP devices OMAP5/DRA7, there is no possibility to update secure
side since "secure world" is ROM and there are no override mechanisms
possible. On HS devices, appropriate PPA should do the workarounds as
well.
However, the configuration is only done for secondary core, since it is
expected that firmware/bootloader will have enabled the required
configuration for the primary boot core (note: bootloaders typically
will NOT enable secondary processors, since it has no need to do so).

When the RTC lock and unlock functions were introduced it was likely
assumed that they would always be called from irq enabled context, hence
the use of local_irq_disable/enable. This is no longer true as the
RTC+DDR path makes a late call during the suspend path after irqs
have been disabled to enable the RTC hwmod which calls both unlock and
lock, leading to IRQs being reenabled through the local_irq_enable call
in omap_hwmod_rtc_lock call.
To avoid this change the local_irq_disable/enable to
local_irq_save/restore to ensure that from whatever context this is
called the proper IRQ configuration is maintained.

Pull more overflow updates from Kees Cook:
"The rest of the overflow changes for v4.18-rc1.
This includes the explicit overflow fixes from Silvio, further
struct_size() conversions from Matthew, and a bug fix from Dan.
But the bulk of it is the treewide conversions to use either the
2-factor argument allocators (e.g. kmalloc(a * b, ...) into
kmalloc_array(a, b, ...) or the array_size() macros (e.g. vmalloc(a *
b) into vmalloc(array_size(a, b)).
Coccinelle was fighting me on several fronts, so I've done a bunch of
manual whitespace updates in the patches as well.
Summary:
- Error path bug fix for overflow tests (Dan)
- Additional struct_size() conversions (Matthew, Kees)
- Explicitly reported overflow fixes (Silvio, Kees)
- Add missing kvcalloc() function (Kees)
- Treewide conversions of allocators to use either 2-factor argument
variant when available, or array_size() and array3_size() as needed

The kzalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, kcalloc(). This
patch replaces cases of:
kzalloc(a * b, gfp)
with:
kcalloc(a * b, gfp)
as well as handling cases of:
kzalloc(a * b * c, gfp)
with:
kzalloc(array3_size(a, b, c), gfp)
as it's slightly less ugly than:
kzalloc_array(array_size(a, b), c, gfp)
This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like:
kzalloc(4 * 1024, gfp)
though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion.
Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were
dropped, since they're redundant.
The Coccinelle script used for this was:
// Fix redundant parens around sizeof().

Late omap soc changes for v4.18 merge window
This series contains two omap1 ams-delta GPIO clean-up patches to get
started with removal of hard-coded GPIO numbers from drivers. And then
the removal of board mach includes from drivers. The second patch mostly
touches the ams-delta audio driver but is included here because of the
removal of the latch gpios and is acked by Mark Brown.
And there are two more am437x related PM patches to save and restore
control module and timer registers for RTC only suspend mode. Looks like
the patch title for the timer changes is a bit misleading, not all the
timer code is yet living under drivers/clocksource. But I had already
pushed out the branch before I noticed this.

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tmlind/linux-omap into next/soc
SoC changes for omap variants for v4.18 merge window
This series mostly adds saving of power and clock domain registers for
am335x/am437x suspend to RTC only mode. There is also a non-urgent fix
for omap4 PM where we could end up losing GPIO interrupts if bootloader
has LOGICRETSTATE cleared for domains. And there is a clean-up patch for
omap1 to use device properties for at24 eeprom.

Add the save and restore for clksrc as part of suspend and resume
so that it saves the counter value and restores. This is needed in
modes like rtc+ddr in self-refresh not doing this stalls the time.

These registers are part of the wkup domain and are lost during RTC only
suspend and also hibernation, so storing/restoring their state is
necessary.

We may have LOGICRETSTATE cleared by the bootloader or kexec boot.
Currently this means we will see lost GPIO interrupts at least for
network interfaces such as wlcore and smsc911x if PER hits retention.
Let's fix the issue by making sure LOGICRETSTATE is set. Once we have
GPIOs working with wakeirqs then we should be able to clear it.

There are two registers on am43x needed for IO daisy chain wake to work
properly, however currently after an RTC+DDR cycle they are lost. We
must take care to save and restore these before and after entering RTC
mode otherwise IO daisy chain wake will stop working from DeepSleep
after resuming.

The powerdomain control registers are stored in the WKUP powerdomain on
AM33XX/AM43XX, which is lost on RTC-only suspend and also hibernate. This
adds context save and restore functions for those registers.
Sometimes the powerdomain state does not need to change,
perhaps we only need to change memory retention states, so make
sure the restored state is different from the current state before we wait
for a transition.
