Remove the global 'dclk' variable, instead replacing it with a variable local to the dpllcore clock type C file. This removes some of the special-case code surrounding the OMAP2xxx clock init. This patch is a prerequisite for the removal of the omap_prcm_restart() code from arch/arm/mach-omap2/prcm.c. It also cleans up some special-case OMAP2xxx clock code in the process. Move OMAP3xxx-specific CM functions & macros into cm3xxx.[ch] and OMAP2xxx-specific macros into cm2xxx.[ch]. Move basic CM register access functions into static inline functions in cm2xxx_3xxx.h, leaving only OMAP2/3 hardreset functions in cm2xxx_3xxx.c. As part of this, split the CM and hwmod code that waits for devices to become ready into SoC-specific functions. This is in preparation for the upcoming move of this code to drivers/. Moving to Common clk framework for OMAP would mean we no longer use internal lookup mechanism like omap_clk_get_by_name(). get rid of all its usage mostly from hwmod and omap_device code. 2012-09-22ARM: OMAP2420: Cosmetic fix for timer clock aliasesJon Hunter1-3/+3
In commit c59b537 (ARM: OMAP2+: Simplify dmtimer clock aliases) new clock aliases were added for OMAP2+ devices. For OMAP2420, I incorrectly set the clock flag as CK_243X instead of CK_242X. This did not introduce a regression as the clock flags are not checked for OMAP2 devices. This also explains why I did not catch this when testing on OMAP2420. 2012-09-13ARM: OMAP: Split plat/hardware.h, use local soc.h for omap2+Tony Lindgren1-1/+1
As the plat and mach includes need to disappear for single zImage work, we need to remove plat/hardware.h. Do this by splitting plat/hardware.h into omap1 and omap2+ specific files. The old plat/hardware.h already has omap1 only defines, so it gets moved to mach/hardware.h for omap1. For omap2+, we use the local soc.h that for now just includes the related SoC headers to keep this patch more readable. Note that the local soc.h still includes plat/cpu.h that can be dealt with in later patches. Let's also include plat/serial.h from common.h for all the board-*.c files. This allows making the include files local later on without patching these files again. Note that only minimal changes are done in this patch for the drivers/watchdog/omap_wdt.c driver to keep things compiling. Further patches are needed to eventually remove cpu_is_omap usage in the drivers. Also only minimal changes are done to sound/soc/omap/* to remove the unneeded includes and to define OMAP44XX_MCPDM_L3_BASE locally so there's no need to include omap44xx.h. While at it, also sort some of the includes in the standard way. 2012-06-14ARM: OMAP2+: Simplify dmtimer clock aliasesJon Hunter1-36/+3
The OMAP dmtimer driver allows you to dynamically configure the functional clock that drives the timer logic. The dmtimer driver uses the device name and a "con-id" string to search for the appropriate functional clock. Currently, we define a clock alias for each functional clock source each timer supports. Some functional clock sources are common to all of the timers on a device and so for these clock sources we can use a single alias with a unique con-id string. The possible functional clock sources for an OMAP device are a 32kHz clock, a system (MHz range) clock and (for OMAP2 only) an external clock. By defining a unique con-id name for each of these (timer_32k_ck, timer_sys_ck and timer_ext_ck) we can eliminate a lot of the clock aliases for timers. This reduces code, speeds-up searches and clock initialisation time. 2011-03-11OMAP2PLUS: clocks: Align DSS clock names and rolesSumit Semwal1-3/+3
Currently, clock database has <dev, clock-name> tuples for DSS2. Because of this, the clock names are different across different OMAP platforms. This patch aligns the DSS2 clock names and roles across OMAP 2420, 2430, 3xxx, 44xx platforms in the clock databases, hwmod databases for opt-clocks, and DSS clock handling. This ensures that clk_get/put/enable/disable APIs in DSS can use uniform role names. All clock management is moved to dss platform driver. clk_get/put APIs use dss device instead of core platform device. Hwmod adaptation design requires each of the DSS HW IP to be a platform driver. So the device name is changed from omapdss to omapdss_dss in 2420, 2430, 3xxx clock database files. Now the core driver "omapdss" only takes care of panel registration with the custom bus. core driver also uses the clk_enable() / clk_disable() APIs exposed by DSS for clock management. DSS driver would do clock management of clocks needed by DISPC, RFBI, DSI, VENC TODO: The clock content would be adapted to omap_hwmod in a seperate series. WKUP domain The parent of the interface clocks for GPTIMER1, MPU_WDT, SYNCTIMER_32K, SCM, WDT1, and the ICR (2430 only) were all listed as being l4_ck. This isn't accurate; these modules exist inside the WKUP domain, and the interface clock to these modules runs at the SYS_CLK rate rather than the CORE L4 rate. So, create a new clock "wu_l4_ick", similar to the OMAP3 "wkup_l4_ick", that serves as the parent for these clocks. Add the necessary code and data to allow the clock framework to enable and disable the OMAP2 DPLL autoidle state. This is so the direct register access can be moved out of the mach-omap2/pm24xx.c code, and other code that needs to control this (e.g., CPUIdle) can do so via an API. As part of this patch, remove the pm24xx.c code that formerly wrote directly to the autoidle bits. Disable autoidle on all clocks during clock framework initialization. (If CONFIG_PM is set, autoidle is re-enabled for all clocks later in the boot process.) The principle behind this patch, and some similar patches, is that the kernel should start with all power management features disabled. Later in the boot process, the PM code, if compiled in with CONFIG_PM, enables or re-enables power management features. 2010-12-22OMAP2/3: PRCM: split OMAP2/3-specific PRCM code into OMAP2/3-specific filesPaul Walmsley1-2/+2
In preparation for adding OMAP4-specific PRCM accessor/mutator functions, split the existing OMAP2/3 PRCM code into OMAP2/3-specific files. Most of what was in mach-omap2/{cm,prm}.{c,h} has now been moved into mach-omap2/{cm,prm}2xxx_3xxx.{c,h}, since it was OMAP2xxx/3xxx-specific. This process also requires the #includes in each of these files to be changed to reference the new file name. As part of doing so, add some comments into plat-omap/sram.c and plat-omap/mcbsp.c, which use "sideways includes", to indicate that these users of the PRM/CM includes should not be doing so. 2010-10-08OMAP: control: move plat-omap/control.h to mach-omap2/control.hPaul Walmsley1-1/+1
Only OMAP2+ platforms have the System Control Module (SCM) IP block. In the past, we've kept the SCM header file in plat-omap. This has led to abuse - device drivers including it; includes being added that create implicit dependencies on OMAP2+ builds; etc. In response, move the SCM headers into mach-omap2/. As part of this, remove the direct SCM access from the OMAP UDC driver. It was clearly broken. The UDC code needs an indepth review for use on OMAP2+ chips. 2010-05-20OMAP2+ clock: remove DEFAULT_RATE clksel_rate flagPaul Walmsley1-23/+23
The DEFAULT_RATE clksel_rate flag is essentially useless. It was set on some of the lowest divisors, which, when switching to a much higher-rate parent, could have potentially resulted in rates that exceeded the hardware specifications for downstream clocks in the window between the clk_set_parent(), and a subsequent clk_set_rate(). It seems much safer to just remove the flag and always use the highest available divisor (resulting in the lowest possible rate) after the switch, and this patch does so. Ideally, it would be best to first attempt to switch to a divisor that matches the clock's rate with the previous parent, if at all possible.
