2012-10-25ARM: OMAP: Split uncompress.h to mach-omap1 and mach-omap2Tony Lindgren1-2/+119
This allows us to eventually move omap2+ to generic debug code that's configured in Kconfig for the port. Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>
2012-10-25Merge tag 'omap-for-v3.8/cleanup-headers-signed' into ↵Tony Lindgren43-111/+1366
omap-for-v3.8/cleanup-headers-serial-take2 This is the first set of omap cleanup patches for v3.8 merge window to remove most of the remaining plat includes to get us closer to ARM common zImage support. To avoid a huge amount of trivial merge conflicts with includes, this branch is based on several small topic branches coordinated with the driver subsystem maintainers. These branches are based on v3.7-rc1 and can also be merged into the related driver subsystem branches as needed: omap-for-v3.8/cleanup-headers-prepare few trivial driver changes omap-for-v3.8/cleanup-headers-dma move of the DMA header omap-for-v3.8/cleanup-headers-gpmc GPMC and MTD changes omap-for-v3.8/cleanup-headers-mmc MMC related changes omap-for-v3.8/cleanup-headers-dss DSS related changes omap-for-v3.8/cleanup-headers-asoc ASoC related changes Note that for the dma-omap.h, it was decided that it should be is completed. For the related discussion, please see: https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/1519591/# After these patches we still have a few plat headers remaining that will be handled in later pull requests.
2012-10-19ARM: OMAP: Split plat/cpu.h into local soc.h for mach-omap1 and mach-omap2Tony Lindgren9-8/+237
We want to remove plat/cpu.h. To do this, let's first split it to private soc.h to mach-omap1 and mach-omap2. We have to keep plat/cpu.h around until the remaining drivers are fixed, so let's include the local soc.h in plat/cpu.h and for drivers still including plat/cpu.h. Once the drivers are fixed not to include plat/cpu.h, we can remove the file. This is needed for the ARM common zImage support. 2012-10-19ARM: OMAP: remove plat/clock.hPaul Walmsley5-6/+154
Remove arch/arm/plat-omap/include/plat/clock.h by merging it into arch/arm/mach-omap1/clock.h and arch/arm/mach-omap2/clock.h. The goal here is to facilitate ARM single image kernels by removing includes via the "plat/" symlink. We must move this for ARM common zImage support. Note that neither drivers/media/rc/ir-rx51.c or drivers/media/platform/omap3isp/ispvideo.c need to include omap-pm.h, so this patch removes the include for those files. 2012-10-17ARM: OMAP: Split plat-omap/i2c.c into mach-omap1 and mach-omap2Tony Lindgren2-2/+60
There's no need to keep the device related things in the common i2c.c as omap2+ is using hwmod. Split the code to mach-omap1 and mach-omap2 parts and only leave common code to plat-omap/i2c.c. Note that as omap1 only has one i2c controller, we can now remove the old device related macros. Reviewed-by: Shubhrajyoti D <shubhrajyoti@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>

2012-10-17ARM: OMAP: Make plat/fpga.h local to arch/arm/plat-omapTony Lindgren7-20/+135
There's no need to have this file in plat/fpga.h. We can make it local to plat-omap replacing fpga_read/write functions directly with readb/writeb as that's how they are already defined in fpga.h. Note that 2420 based H4 is also using the fpga, so let's keep the led support around in plat-omap until we flip over mach-omap2 to device tree. 2012-10-13ARM: config: sort select statements alphanumericallyRussell King1-4/+4
As suggested by Andrew Morton: This is a pet peeve of mine. Any time there's a long list of items (header file inclusions, kconfig entries, array initalisers, etc) and someone wants to add a new item, they *always* go and stick it at the end of the list. Guys, don't do this. Either put the new item into a randomly-chosen position or, probably better, alphanumerically sort the list. lets sort all our select statements alphanumerically. This commit was created by the following perl: while (<>) { while (/\\\s*$/) { $_ .= <>; } undef %selects if /^\s*config\s+/; if (/^\s+select\s+(\w+).*/) { if (defined($selects{$1})) { if ($selects{$1} eq $_) { print STDERR "Warning: removing duplicated $1 entry\n"; } else { print STDERR "Error: $1 differently selected\n". "\tOld: $selects{$1}\n". "\tNew: $_\n"; exit 1; } } $selects{$1} = $_; next; } if (%selects and (/^\s*$/ or /^\s+help/ or /^\s+---help---/ or /^endif/ or /^endchoice/)) { foreach $k (sort (keys %selects)) { print "$selects{$k}"; } undef %selects; } print; } if (%selects) { foreach $k (sort (keys %selects)) { print "$selects{$k}"; } } It found two duplicates: Warning: removing duplicated S5P_SETUP_MIPIPHY entry Warning: removing duplicated HARDIRQS_SW_RESEND entry and they are identical duplicates, hence the shrinkage in the diffstat of two lines. 2012-09-24ARM: OMAP: Add a timer attribute for timers that can interrupt the DSPJon Hunter1-1/+1
Some instances of the DMTIMER peripheral on OMAP devices have the ability to interrupt the on-chip DSP in addition to the ARM CPU. Add a DMTIMER attribute to indicate which timers can interrupt the DSP. By using the omap_dm_timer_request_by_cap() API, driver will now be able to allocate a DMTIMER that can interrupt the DSP based upon this attribute and not require the driver to know which instance has this capability. DMTIMERs that have the ability to interrupt the DSP on OMAP devices are as follows ... - OMAP1 (OMAP5912/16xx/17xx) devices - All 8 DMTIMERs - OMAP2/3/4 devices - DMTIMERs 5-8 Please note that for OMAP3+, timer8 has the ability to interrupt the DSP and generate a PWM output. 2012-09-24hwrng: OMAP: remove SoC restrictions from driver registrationPaul Walmsley1-0/+3
Remove the SoC restriction code from the OMAP RNG driver. The integration code in arch/arm/*omap* should handle this. The device shouldn't be created if it doesn't exist on the currently-booted SoC. This allows us to remove some OMAP-specific cpu_is_omap*() calls from the driver. Also, if other OMAP chips have RNGs that can be used by Linux, there will be no need to modify the driver. 2012-09-24ARM: OMAP: split OMAP1, OMAP2+ RNG device registrationPaul Walmsley1-0/+25
Move the OMAP1-specific RNG device creation off to mach-omap1/devices.c, and create a omap_device-backed registration function for OMAP2+ devices in mach-omap2/devices.c. As a nice side-benefit, we can also get rid of arch/arm/plat-omap/devices.c, thanks to some recent changes from Tony. One change from the previous behavior is that the RNG devices are now registered unconditionally. This should allow the RNG drivers to be loaded as modules, even if the original kernel was not built that way. Signed-off-by: Paul Walmsley <paul@pwsan.com>

2012-09-13ARM: OMAP: Split plat/hardware.h, use local soc.h for omap2+Tony Lindgren1-4/+281
As the plat and mach includes need to disappear for single zImage work, we need to remove plat/hardware.h. Do this by splitting plat/hardware.h into omap1 and omap2+ specific files. The old plat/hardware.h already has omap1 only defines, so it gets moved to mach/hardware.h for omap1. For omap2+, we use the local soc.h that for now just includes the related SoC headers to keep this patch more readable. Note that the local soc.h still includes plat/cpu.h that can be dealt with in later patches. Let's also include plat/serial.h from common.h for all the board-*.c files. This allows making the include files local later on without patching these files again. Note that only minimal changes are done in this patch for the drivers/watchdog/omap_wdt.c driver to keep things compiling. Further patches are needed to eventually remove cpu_is_omap usage in the drivers. Also only minimal changes are done to sound/soc/omap/* to remove the unneeded includes and to define OMAP44XX_MCPDM_L3_BASE locally so there's no need to include omap44xx.h. While at it, also sort some of the includes in the standard way. 2012-09-13ARM: OMAP: Move gpio.h to include/linux/platform_dataTony Lindgren8-2/+7
This way we can remove includes of plat/gpio.h which won't work with the single zImage support. Note that we also remove the cpu_class_is_omap2() check in gpio-omap.c as the drivers should not call it as we need to make it local to arch/arm/mach-omap2 for single zImage support. While at it, arrange the related includes in the standard way. Find and unwrap wrapped strings in the style: pr_debug("clockdomain: hardware cannot set/clear wake up of " "%s when %s wakes up\n", clkdm1->name, clkdm2->name); Keeping these strings contiguous seems to be the current Linux kernel policy. The offending lines were found with the following command: pcregrep -rnM '"\s*$\s*"' arch/arm/*omap* While here, some messages have been clarified, some pr_warning( ... calls have been converted to pr_warn( ..., and some printk(KERN_* ... have been converted to pr_*.
