2014-03-17ARM: davinci: remove tnetv107x supportArnd Bergmann7-496/+0
The tnetv107x support does not compile, and seems to have been broken for a while with nobody caring to fix it. So far everyone I asked said it's probably dead and completely unused and will never again be needed in a future kernel release, so let's delete it. If someone finds a use for this code later and is able to get it to work again, we can always revert the removal. 2013-12-20ARM: drop <mach/timex.h> for !ARCH_MULTIPLATFORM, tooUwe Kleine-König1-22/+0
While <mach/timex.h> isn't used for multi-platform builds since long it still is for "normal" builds. As the previous patches fix all sites to not make use of this per-platform file, it can go now for good also for platforms that are not (yet) converted to multi-platform. While at it there are no users of CLOCK_TICK_RATE any more, so also drop the dummy #define. Signed-off-by: Uwe Kleine-König <u.kleine-koenig@pengutronix.de>

2013-09-25ARM: davinci: gpio: use gpiolib API instead of inline functionsPhilip Avinash2-178/+0
Remove NEED_MACH_GPIO_H config select option for ARCH_DAVINCI to start using gpiolib interface for davinci platforms. This makes it easier to use the gpio driver on other platforms as it breaks dependency on mach-davinci. Latencies for gpio_get/set APIs will increase. On measurement, latency was found to have increased by 18 microsecond with gpiolib API as compared to inline APIs. Measurement was done on DA850 EVM for gpio_get_value() API by taking the printk timing across the call with interrupts disabled. inline gpio API with interrupt disabled [ 29.734337] before gpio_get [ 29.736847] after gpio_get Time difference 0.00251 gpio library with interrupt disabled [ 272.876763] before gpio_get [ 272.879291] after gpio_get Time difference 0.002528 Latency increased by (0.002528 - 0.00251) = 18 microsecond. 2013-09-24gpio: davinci: move to platform deviceKV Sujith1-0/+1
Modify DaVinci GPIO driver to become a platform device driver. The driver does not have platform driver structure or a probe. Instead, it has pure_initcall function for initialization. The platform specific informaiton is obtained using the DaVinci specific davinci_soc_info structure. This is a problem for Device Tree (DT) implementation. As a first stage of DT conversion, we implement a probe. Additional notes: - The driver registration happens as postcore_initcall. This is required since machine init functions like da850_lcd_hw_init() make use of GPIO. - Start using devres APIs for simpler error handling. 2013-01-03ARM: davinci: da8xx_register_spi() should not register SPI board infoVivien Didelot1-3/+1
Without this patch, da8xx_register_spi() registers the SPI board info, the SPI controller, and sets its number of chipselect to the size of the static spi_board_info array. This is bad because a SPI board info may declare devices for different SPI buses, and because other code can also call spi_register_board_info() (e.g. a daughter board might provide additional SPI devices). This patch removes the spi_register_board_info() call from da8xx_register_spi(), renames this last one to da8xx_register_spi_bus() to be more explicit, takes the number of chipselect as a function parameter, and updates the impacted board-da8{3,5}0-evm.c, and board-mityomapl138.c files accordingly. It also sets the SPI platform data static, as it doesn't need to be exported. This will enable moving timer drivers into drivers/clocksource without having to place a public prototype of each struct sys_timer object into include/linux; the intent is to create a single of_clocksource_init() function that determines which timer driver to initialize by scanning the device dtree, much like the proposed irqchip_init() at: http://www.spinics.net/lists/arm-kernel/msg203686.html Includes mach-omap2 fixes from Igor Grinberg. Pull ARM SoC updates from Olof Johansson: "This contains the bulk of new SoC development for this merge window. Two new platforms have been added, the sunxi platforms (Allwinner A1x SoCs) by Maxime Ripard, and a generic Broadcom platform for a new series of ARMv7 platforms from them, where the hope is that we can keep the platform code generic enough to have them all share one mach directory. The new Broadcom platform is contributed by Christian Daudt. Highbank has grown support for Calxeda's next generation of hardware, ECX-2000. clps711x has seen a lot of cleanup from Alexander Shiyan, and he's also taken on maintainership of the platform. Beyond this there has been a bunch of work from a number of people on converting more platforms to IRQ domains, pinctrl conversion, cleanup and general feature enablement across most of the active platforms." That's why this pull request is based that changeset. 2) As promised, I reviewed the pending VB2 DMABUF series. While setting a test environment, it was noticed that the upstream support for Samsung Exynos 4 boards (smdk310 and Origen) are broken upstream, likely due to regressions: both defconfigs are wrong and regulator settings for both boards are broken. That, allied with some bug at the dummy regulator driver, causes OOPSes during boot time. Long story short: even fixing the above, the proposed patches OOPSed when running the DMABUF test. Not sure yet if the OOPSes are due to some other undetected regressions, or due to some bug on the patches. Due to the above, DMABUF patches for vb2 got NACKed for 3.7." * 'v4l_for_linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/mchehab/linux-media: (109 commits) [media] m5mols: Add missing #include <linux/sizes.h> [media] stk1160: Add support for S-Video input Revert "[media] omap3isp: Replace cpu_is_omap3630() with ISP revision check" [media] dvb: LNA implementation changes [media] v4l2-ioctl: fix W=1 warnings [media] v4l2-ioctl: add blocks check for VIDIOC_SUBDEV_G/S_EDID [media] omap3isp: Fix compilation error in ispreg.h [media] rc-msi-digivox-ii: Add full scan keycodes [media] cx25821: testing the wrong variable [media] tda18271-common: hold the I2C adapter during write transfers [media] ds3000: add module parameter to force firmware upload [media] drivers/media: Remove unnecessary semicolon [media] winbond: remove space from driver name [media] iguanair: cannot send data from the stack [media] omap3isp: Replace cpu_is_omap3630() with ISP revision check [media] dvb-usb: print small buffers via %*ph [media] uvc: Add return code check at vb2_queue_init() [media] em28xx: Replace memcpy with struct assignment [media] bt8xx: Add video4linux control V4L2_CID_COLOR_KILLER [media] mem2mem_testdev: Use devm_kzalloc() in probe ... Partly because of additional API support and partly because of constantly developed ASoC and ARM stuff. Some highlights: - Introduced the helper function and documentation for exposing the channel map via control API, as discussed in Plumbers; most of PCI drivers are covered, will follow more drivers later - Most of drivers have been replaced with the new PM callbacks (if the bus is supported) - HD-audio controller got the support of runtime PM and the support of D3 clock-stop. Also changing the power_save option in sysfs kicks off immediately to enable / disable the power-save mode. - Another significant code change in HD-audio is the rewrite of firmware loading code. Other than that, most of changes in HD-audio are continued cleanups and standardization for the generic auto parser and bug fixes (HBR, device-specific fixups), in addition to the support of channel-map API. - Addition of ASoC bindings for the compressed API, used by the mid-x86 drivers. - Lots of cleanups and API refreshes for ASoC codec drivers and DaVinci. - Conversion of OMAP to dmaengine. - New machine driver for Wolfson Microelectronics Bells. - New CODEC driver for Wolfson Microelectronics WM0010. - Enhancements to the ux500 and wm2000 drivers - A new driver for DA9055 and the support for regulator bypass mode."
