2017-04-09ARM: KVM: Implement HVC_RESET_VECTORS stub hypercall in the init codeMarc Zyngier1-0/+1
In order to restore HYP mode to its original condition, KVM currently implements __kvm_hyp_reset(). As we're moving towards a hyp-stub defined API, it becomes necessary to implement HVC_RESET_VECTORS. This patch adds the HVC_RESET_VECTORS hypercall to the KVM init code, which so far lacked any form of hypercall support. 2017-01-13KVM: arm64: Access CNTHCTL_EL2 bit fields correctly on VHE systemsJintack Lim1-0/+5
Current KVM world switch code is unintentionally setting wrong bits to CNTHCTL_EL2 when E2H == 1, which may allow guest OS to access physical timer. Bit positions of CNTHCTL_EL2 are changing depending on HCR_EL2.E2H bit. EL1PCEN and EL1PCTEN are 1st and 0th bits when E2H is not set, but they are 11th and 10th bits respectively when E2H is set. In fact, on VHE we only need to set those bits once, not for every world switch. This is because the host kernel runs in EL2 with HCR_EL2.TGE == 1, which makes those bits have no effect for the host kernel execution. So we just set those bits once for guests, and that's it. 2016-02-29arm/arm64: Add new is_kernel_in_hyp_mode predicateMarc Zyngier1-0/+5
With ARMv8.1 VHE extension, it will be possible to run the kernel at EL2 (aka HYP mode). In order for the kernel to easily find out where it is running, add a new predicate that returns whether or not the kernel is in HYP mode. For completeness, the 32bit code also get such a predicate (always returning false) so that code common to both architecture (timers, KVM) can use it transparently. 2013-07-26ARM: 7787/1: virt: ensure visibility of __boot_cpu_modeMark Rutland1-0/+12
Secondary CPUs write to __boot_cpu_mode with caches disabled, and thus a cached value of __boot_cpu_mode may be incoherent with that in memory. This could lead to a failure to detect mismatched boot modes. This patch adds flushing to ensure that writes by secondaries to __boot_cpu_mode are made visible before we test against it. 2013-01-11ARM: virt: use PSR_N_BIT for detecting boot CPU mode mismatchWill Deacon1-2/+2
During boot, we detect whether or not all CPUs are brought up in the same mode and signal this to the kernel using the N bit in the SPSR. 2012-09-19ARM: virt: allow the kernel to be entered in HYP modeDave Martin1-0/+52
This patch does two things: * Ensure that asynchronous aborts are masked at kernel entry. The bootloader should be masking these anyway, but this reduces the damage window just in case it doesn't. * Enter svc mode via exception return to ensure that CPU state is properly serialised. This does not matter when switching from an ordinary privileged mode ("PL1" modes in ARMv7-AR rev C parlance), but it potentially does matter when switching from a another privileged mode such as hyp mode. This should allow the kernel to boot safely either from svc mode or hyp mode, even if no support for use of the ARM Virtualization Extensions is built into the kernel.
