2023-10-25ARM: dts: ti: omap: Fix noisy serial with overrun-throttle-ms for mapphoneTony Lindgren1-0/+1
[ Upstream commit 5ad37b5e30433afa7a5513e3eb61f69fa0976785 ] On mapphone devices we may get lots of noise on the micro-USB port in debug uart mode until the phy-cpcap-usb driver probes. Let's limit the noise by using overrun-throttle-ms. Note that there is also a related separate issue where the charger cable connected may cause random sysrq requests until phy-cpcap-usb probes that still remains. 2023-10-10ARM: dts: motorola-mapphone: Add 1.2GHz OPPCarl Philipp Klemm1-0/+15
[ Upstream commit 19e367147ea8864dff1fb153cfab6d8e8da10324 ] The omap4430 HS HIGH performance devces support 1.2GHz opp, lower speed variants do not. However for mapphone devices Motorola seems to have decided that this does not really matter for the SoC variants they have tested to use, and decided to clock all devices, including the ones with STANDARD performance chips at 1.2GHz upon release of the 3.0.8 vendor kernel shiped with Android 4.0. Therefore it seems safe to do the same, but let's only do it for Motorola devices as the others have not been tested. Note that we prevent overheating with the passive cooling device cpu_alert0 configured in the dts file that starts lowering the speed as needed. This also removes the "failed to find current OPP for freq 1200000000" warning. 2023-10-10ARM: dts: motorola-mapphone: Configure lower temperature passive coolingTony Lindgren1-0/+8
[ Upstream commit 5c3db2d4d4ed747e714387362afe007e6ae5e2d3 ] The current cooling device temperature is too high at 100C as we have a battery on the device right next to the SoC as pointed out by Carl Philipp Klemm <philipp@uvos.xyz>. Let's configure the max temperature to 80C. As we only have a tshut interrupt and no talert interrupt on 4430, we have a passive cooling device configured for 4430. However, we want the poll interval to be 10 seconds instead of 1 second for power management. The value of 10 seconds seems like plenty of time to notice the temperature increase above the 75C temperatures. Having the bandgap temperature change seems to take several tens of seconds because of heat dissipation above 75C range as monitored with a full CPU load. 2023-09-19ARM: dts: BCM53573: Fix Ethernet info for Luxul devicesRafał Miłecki2-0/+26
[ Upstream commit 44ad8207806973f4e4f7d870fff36cc01f494250 ] Both Luxul's XAP devices (XAP-810 and XAP-1440) are access points that use a non-default design. They don't include switch but have a single Ethernet port and BCM54210E PHY connected to the Ethernet controller's MDIO bus. Support for those devices regressed due to two changes: 1. Describing MDIO bus with switch After commit 9fb90ae6cae7 ("ARM: dts: BCM53573: Describe on-SoC BCM53125 rev 4 switch") Linux stopped probing for MDIO devices. 2. Dropping hardcoded BCM54210E delays In commit fea7fda7f50a ("net: phy: broadcom: Fix RGMII delays configuration for BCM54210E") support for other PHY modes was added but that requires a proper "phy-mode" value in DT. Both above changes are correct (they don't need to be reverted or anything) but they need this fix for DT data to be correct and for Linux to work properly. 2023-05-17ARM: dts: gta04: fix excess dma channel usageH. Nikolaus Schaller1-0/+16
[ Upstream commit a622310f7f0185da02e42cdb06475f533efaae60 ] OMAP processors support 32 channels but there is no check or inspect this except booting a device and looking at dmesg reports of not available channels. Recently some more subsystems with DMA (aes1+2) were added filling the list of dma channels beyond the limit of 32 (even if other parameters indicate 96 or 128 channels). This leads to random subsystem failures i(e.g. mcbsp for audio) after boot or boot messages that DMA can not be initialized. Another symptom is that /sys/kernel/debug/dmaengine/summary has 32 entries and does not show all required channels. Fix by disabling unused (on the GTA04 hardware) mcspi1...4. Each SPI channel allocates 4 DMA channels rapidly filling the available ones. Disabling unused SPI modules on the OMAP3 SoC may also save some energy (has not been checked). The current value is probably a typo and is actually uncommon to find 1MB IO space even on a x86 arch. Also with recent changes to the pci driver, pci1 and pci2 now fails to function as any connected device fails any reg read/write.
