2017-11-30Documentation: net: dsa: Cut set_addr() documentationLinus Walleij1-5/+0
This is not supported anymore, devices needing a MAC address just assign one at random, it's just a driver pecularity. Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org> Reviewed-by: Andrew Lunn <andrew@lunn.ch> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2017-01-25net: dsa: Mop up remaining NET_DSA_HWMON referencesAndrew Lunn1-24/+0
Previous patches have moved the temperature sensor code into the Marvell PHYs. A few now dead references to NET_DSA_HWMON were left behind. Go reap them. 2016-08-29Documentation: networking: dsa: Remove platform device TODOFlorian Fainelli1-20/+0
Since commit 83c0afaec7b7 ("net: dsa: Add new binding implementation"), the shortcomings of the dsa platform device have been addressed, remove that TODO item. 2016-08-25net: dsa: rename switch operations structureVivien Didelot1-5/+5
Now that the dsa_switch_driver structure contains only function pointers as it is supposed to, rename it to the more appropriate dsa_switch_ops, uniformly to any other operations structure in the kernel. No functional changes here, basically just the result of something like: s/dsa_switch_driver *drv/dsa_switch_ops *ops/g However keep the {un,}register_switch_driver functions and their dsa_switch_drivers list as is, since they represent the -- likely to be deprecated soon -- legacy DSA registration framework. In the meantime, also fix the following checks from checkpatch.pl to make it happy with this patch: CHECK: Comparison to NULL could be written "!ops" #403: FILE: net/dsa/dsa.c:470: + if (ops == NULL) { CHECK: Comparison to NULL could be written "ds->ops->get_strings" #773: FILE: net/dsa/slave.c:697: + if (ds->ops->get_strings != NULL) CHECK: Comparison to NULL could be written "ds->ops->get_ethtool_stats" #824: FILE: net/dsa/slave.c:785: + if (ds->ops->get_ethtool_stats != NULL) CHECK: Comparison to NULL could be written "ds->ops->get_sset_count" #835: FILE: net/dsa/slave.c:798: + if (ds->ops->get_sset_count != NULL) total: 0 errors, 0 warnings, 4 checks, 784 lines checked Signed-off-by: Vivien Didelot <vivien.didelot@savoirfairelinux.com> Acked-by: Florian Fainelli <f.fainelli@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2016-04-08net: dsa: make the STP state function return voidVivien Didelot1-1/+1
The DSA layer doesn't care about the return code of the port_stp_update routine, so make it void in the layer and the DSA drivers. Replace the useless dsa_slave_stp_update function with a dsa_slave_stp_state function used to reply to the switchdev SWITCHDEV_ATTR_ID_PORT_STP_STATE attribute. In the meantime, rename port_stp_update to port_stp_state_set to explicit the state change. Signed-off-by: Vivien Didelot <vivien.didelot@savoirfairelinux.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2016-02-25net: dsa: drop vlan_getnextVivien Didelot1-9/+0
The VLAN GetNext operation is specific to some switches, and thus can be complicated to implement for some drivers. Remove the support for the vlan_getnext/port_pvid_get approach in favor of the generic and simpler port_vlan_dump function. 2016-02-25net: dsa: add port_vlan_dump routineVivien Didelot1-0/+4
Similar to port_fdb_dump, add a port_vlan_dump function to DSA drivers which gets passed the switchdev VLAN object and callback. This function, if implemented, takes precedence over the soon legacy vlan_getnext/port_pvid_get approach. Signed-off-by: Vivien Didelot <vivien.didelot@savoirfairelinux.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2016-02-23net: dsa: pass bridge down to driversVivien Didelot1-5/+2
Some DSA drivers may or may not support multiple software bridges on top of an hardware switch. It is more convenient for them to access the bridge's net_device for finer configuration. Removing the need to craft and access a bitmask also simplifies the code. This patch changes the signature of bridge related functions, update DSA drivers, and removes dsa_slave_br_port_mask.
