2017-04-06Input: create a book with Linux Input documentationMauro Carvalho Chehab1-128/+0
Now that all files under Documentation/input follows the ReST markup language, rename them to *.rst and create a book for the Linux Input subsystem. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com> Signed-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dmitry.torokhov@gmail.com>
2017-04-06Input: rotary-encoder - convert documentation into to ReST formatMauro Carvalho Chehab1-41/+43
This file require minimum adjustments to be a valid ReST file. Do it, in order to be able to parse it with Sphinx. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com> Signed-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dmitry.torokhov@gmail.com>
2015-10-17Input: rotary-encoder - add support for quarter-period modeEzequiel Garcia1-2/+6
Some encoders have both outputs low in stable states, others also have a stable state with both outputs high (half-period mode) and some have a stable state in all steps (quarter-period mode). The driver used to support the former states and with this change it can also support the later. This commit also deprecates the 'half-period' property and introduces a new property 'steps-per-period'. This property specifies the number of steps (stable states) produced by the rotary encoder for each GPIO period. 2009-04-18Input: rotary_encoder - add support for REL_* axesH Hartley Sweeten1-1/+8
The rotary encoder driver only supports returning input events for ABS_* axes, this adds support for REL_* axes. The relative axis input event is reported as -1 for each counter-clockwise step and +1 for each clockwise step. The ability to clamp the position of ABS_* axes between 0 and a maximum of "steps" has also been added. 2009-03-09Input: generic driver for rotary encoders on GPIOsDaniel Mack1-0/+101
This patch adds a generic driver for rotary encoders connected to GPIO pins of a system. It relies on gpiolib and generic hardware irqs. The documentation that also comes with this patch explains the concept and how to use the driver.
