2015-08-24mfd: max77686: Split out regulator part from the DT bindingJavier Martinez Canillas1-0/+71
The Maxim MAX77686 PMIC is a multi-function device with regulators, clocks and a RTC. The DT bindings for the clocks are in a separate file but the bindings for the regulators are inside the mfd part. To make it consistent with the clocks portion of the binding and because is more natural to look for regulator bindings under the bindings/regulator sub-directory, split the regulator portion of the DT binding and add it as a separate file. 2015-07-07regulator: max8973: add support to configure ETR from DTLaxman Dewangan1-0/+6
The MAX8973/MAX77621 feature an Enhanced Transient Response(ETR) circuit that is enabled through software. The enhanced transient response reduces the voltage droop during large load steps by temporarily allowing all three phases to fire in unison, slewing total inductor current faster than would normally be possible if all three phases continued to operate 120deg out of phase. The enhanced transient response detector features two selectable sensitivity settings, which select the output voltage slew rate during load transients that triggers the ETR circuit. The sensitivity of the ETR detector is set by the CKADV[1:0] bits in the CONTROL2 register. Add support to configure the ETR through platform data from DT. Update the DT binding document accordingly. 2015-06-09regulator: max8973: add support for MAX77621Laxman Dewangan1-1/+3
Maxim MAX77621 device is high-efficiency, three-phase, DC-DC step-down switching regulator delivers peak output currents up to 16A. This device is extension of MAX8973 and compatible with the register definition. The MAX77621 has the SHUTDOWN pin which is EN pin on the MAX8973. On MAX77621, the SHUTDOWN pin (active low) reset device register to its POR/OTP value. The voltage output is enabled when SHUTDONW pin is HIGH and EN bit on VOUT register is HIGH. For MAX8973, VOUT is enabled when EN bit or EN pin is high. Add support of the MAX77621 device on max8973 regulator driver with following changes: - Make sure SHUTDOWN pin is set HIGH through GPIO calls if GPIO from AP connected to SHUTDOWN pin provided. - Enable/disable the rail through register access only. 2015-03-07regulator: act8865: add input supply handlingHeiko Stuebner1-0/+22
The act88600/act8846/act8865 regulators have a number of input supplies supplying the individual regulators. This may even be recursively like on most Rockchip boards using the act8846 where REG4 is most of the time connected to the inl1-supply. Therefore add the ability to specify the input supplies for the individual inputs. The input-names are taken from the datasheets of act8600, act8846 and act8865. On the act8600 some regulators do not have separate input supplies. Signed-off-by: Heiko Stuebner <heiko@sntech.de> Signed-off-by: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org>

2014-12-01of: Rename "poweroff-source" property to "system-power-controller"Romain Perier1-2/+2
It reverts commit a4b4e0461ec5 ("of: Add standard property for poweroff capability"). As discussed on the mailing list, it makes more sense to rename back to the old established property name, without the vendor prefix. Problem being that the word "source" usually tends to be used for inputs and that is out of control of the OS. The poweroff capability is an output which simply turns the system-power off. Also, this property might be used by drivers which power-off the system and power back on subsequent RTC alarms. This seems to suggest to remove "poweroff" from the property name and to choose "system-power-controller" as the more generic name. This patchs adds the required renaming changes and defines an helper function which checks if this property is set. 2014-11-26regulator: max77802: Document binding for regulator operating modesJavier Martinez Canillas1-0/+35
Some regulators from the max77802 PMIC support to be configured in one of two operating mode: Output ON (normal) and Output On Low Power Mode. Not all regulators support these two modes and for some of them, the mode can be changed while the system is running in normal operation while others only support their mode to be changed on system suspend. Extend the max77802 PMIC binding by documenting the possible operating modes values so the regulators modes can be configured correctly. 2014-11-26regulator: Document binding for initial and suspend modesJavier Martinez Canillas1-0/+7
Some regulators can run on different operating modes (opmodes). This allows systems to choose the most efficient opmode for each regulator. This patch builds on top of (291d761 regulator: Document binding for regulator suspend state for PM state) adding a regulator-initial-mode DT property to configure at startup the operating mode for regulators that support changing its mode during normal operation and a property regulator-mode to be used in the regulator-state-[mem/disk] nodes for regulators that supports changing its operating mode when the system enters in a suspend state. The set of possible modes that a regulator can operate depends on the hardware capabilities so a list of generic operating modes can't be provided. Instead, each hardware binding should define the list of valid operating modes for the regulators found on that device.
