Pull networking fixes from David Miller: 1) Revert CHECKSUM_COMPLETE optimization in pskb_trim_rcsum(), I can't figure out why it breaks things. 2) Fix comparison in netfilter ipset's hash_netnet4_data_equal(), it was basically doing "x == x", from Dave Jones. 3) Freescale FEC driver was DMA mapping the wrong number of bytes, from Sebastian Siewior. 4) Blackhole and prohibit routes in ipv6 were not doing the right thing because their ->input and ->output methods were not being assigned correctly. Now they behave properly like their ipv4 counterparts. From Kamala R. 5) Several drivers advertise the NETIF_F_FRAGLIST capability, but really do not support this feature and will send garbage packets if fed fraglist SKBs. From Eric Dumazet. 6) Fix long standing user triggerable BUG_ON over loopback in RDS protocol stack, from Venkat Venkatsubra. 7) Several not so common code paths can potentially try to invoke packet scheduler actions that might be NULL without checking. Shore things up by either 1) defining a method as mandatory and erroring on registration if that method is NULL 2) defininig a method as optional and the registration function hooks up a default implementation when NULL is seen. We had this almost right, but were missing handling addrconf generated routes properly. 2013-12-12net: smc91x: Fix device tree based configuration so it's usableTony Lindgren1-0/+4
Commit 89ce376c6bdc (drivers/net: Use of_match_ptr() macro in smc91x.c) added minimal device tree support to smc91x, but it's not working on many platforms because of the lack of some key configuration bits. Fix the issue by parsing the necessary configuration like the smc911x driver is doing. As most smc91x users seem to use 16-bit access, let's default to that if no reg-io-width is specified. 2013-12-06net: davinci_emac: Fix platform data handling and make usable for am3517Tony Lindgren1-1/+1
When booted with device tree, we may still have platform data passed as auxdata. For am3517 this is needed for passing the interrupt_enable and interrupt_disable callbacks that access the omap system control module registers. These callback functions will eventually go away when we have a separate system control module driver. Some of the things that are currently passed as platform data we don't need to set up as device tree properties as they are always the same on am3517. So let's use a new compatible flag for those so we can get those from the device tree match data. Also note that we need to fix setting of phy_dev to NULL instead of an empty string as the code later on uses that to find the first phy on the mdio bus. Currently IEEE 1588 timer reference clock source is determined through hard-coded value in gianfar_ptp driver. This patch allows to select ptp clock source by means of device tree file node. 2013-09-24drivers: net: cpsw-phy-sel: Add new driver for phy mode selection for cpswMugunthan V N1-0/+28
The cpsw currently lacks code to properly set up the hardware interface mode on AM33xx. Other platforms might be equally affected. Usually, the bootloader will configure the control module register, so probably that's why such support wasn't needed in the past. In suspend mode though, this register is modified, and so it needs reprogramming after resume. This patch adds a new driver in which hardware interface can configure correct register bits when the slave is opened. The AM33xx also has a bit for each slave to configure the RMII reference clock direction. Setting it is now supported by a per-slave DT property. This code path introducted by this patch is currently exclusive for am33xx and same can be extened to various platforms via the DT compatibility property. 2013-08-21net/phy: micrel: Add OF configuration support for ksz9021Sean Cross1-0/+49
Some boards require custom PHY configuration, for example due to trace length differences. Add the ability to configure these registers in order to get the PHY to function on boards that need it. Because PHYs are auto-detected based on MDIO device IDs, allow PHY configuration to be specified in the parent Ethernet device node if no PHY device node is present. Since there is no public documentation, this driver is mostly the one published by MOXA that has been heavily cleaned up / ported from linux 2.6.9. In particular, we can now have pinctrl, clk, clksource and irqchip drivers in one file per driver, without the need to call into platform specific interface, or to get called from platform specific code, as long as all information about the hardware is provided through a device tree. Most of the drivers we touch this time are for clocksource. Since now most of them are part of drivers/clocksource, I expect that we won't have to touch these again from arm-soc and can let the clocksource maintainers take care of these in the future. Another larger part of this series is specific to the exynos platform, which is seeing some significant effort in upstreaming and modernization of its device drivers this time around, which unfortunately is also the cause for the churn and a lot of the merge conflicts. 2013-04-04ARM: OMAP2+: Add GPMC DT support for Ethernet child nodesJavier Martinez Canillas1-0/+97
Besides being used to interface with external memory devices, the General-Purpose Memory Controller can be used to connect Pseudo-SRAM devices such as ethernet controllers to OMAP2+ processors using the TI GPMC as a data bus. 2012-11-20of/net/mdio-gpio: Fix pdev->id issue when using devicetrees.Srinivas Kandagatla1-1/+8
When the mdio-gpio driver is probed via device trees, the platform device id is set as -1, However the pdev->id is re-used as bus-id for while creating mdio gpio bus. So For device tree case the mdio-gpio bus name appears as "gpio-ffffffff" where as for non-device tree case the bus name appears as "gpio-<bus-num>" Which means the bus_id is fixed in device tree case, so we can't have two mdio gpio buses via device trees. Assigning a logical bus number via device tree solves the problem and the bus name is much consistent with non-device tree bus name. Without this patch 1. we can't support two mdio-gpio buses via device trees. 2. we should always pass gpio-ffffffff as bus name to phy_connect, very different to non-device tree bus name. So, setting up the bus_id via aliases from device tree is the right solution and other drivers do similar thing. This patch contains a new network driver for the network unit of the ARM Marvell Armada 370 and the Armada XP. Both SoCs use the PJ4B processor, a Marvell-developed ARM core that implements the ARMv7 instruction set. Compared to previous ARM Marvell SoCs (Kirkwood, Orion, Discovery), the network unit in Armada 370 and Armada XP is highly different. This is the reason why this new 'mvneta' driver is needed, while the older ARM Marvell SoCs use the 'mv643xx_eth' driver. Here is an overview of the most important hardware changes that require a new, specific, driver for the network unit of Armada 370/XP: - The new network unit has a completely different design and layout for the RX and TX descriptors. They are now organized as a simple array (each RX and TX queue has base address and size of this array) rather than a linked list as in the old SoCs. - The new network unit has a different RXQ and TXQ management: this management is done using special read/write counter registers, while in the Old SocS, it was done using the Ownership bit in RX and TX descriptors. - The new network unit has different interrupt registers - The new network unit way of cleaning of interrupts is not done by writing to the cause register, but by updating per-queue counters - The new network unit has different GMAC registers (link, speed, duplex configuration) and different WRR registers. - The new network unit has lots of new units like PnC (Parser and Classifier), PMT, BM (Memory Buffer Management), xPON, and more. The driver proposed in the current patch only handles the basic features. Additional hardware features will progressively be supported as needed. This patch adds a separate driver for the MDIO interface of the Marvell Ethernet controllers. There are two reasons to have a separate driver rather than including it inside the MAC driver itself: *) The MDIO interface is shared by all Ethernet ports, so a driver must guarantee non-concurrent accesses to this MDIO interface. The most logical way is to have a separate driver that handles this single MDIO interface, used by all Ethernet ports. *) The MDIO interface is the same between the existing mv643xx_eth driver and the new mvneta driver. Even though it is for now only used by the mvneta driver, it will in the future be used by the mv643xx_eth driver as well.
