2020-11-06dt-bindings: memory: tegra20: emc: Document OPP table and voltage regulatorDmitry Osipenko1-0/+16
The SoC core voltage can't be changed without taking into account the clock rate of External Memory Controller. Document OPP table that will be used for dynamic voltage frequency scaling, taking into account EMC voltage requirement. Document optional core voltage regulator, which is optional because some boards may have a fixed core regulator and still frequency scaling may be desired to have. 2020-11-06dt-bindings: memory: tegra20: emc: Document nvidia, memory-controller propertyDmitry Osipenko1-0/+2
Tegra20 External Memory Controller talks to DRAM chips and it needs to be reprogrammed when memory frequency changes. Tegra Memory Controller sits behind EMC and these controllers are tightly coupled. This patch adds the new phandle property which allows to properly express connection of EMC and MC hardware in a device-tree, it also put the Tegra20 EMC binding on par with Tegra30+ EMC bindings, which is handy to have. 2020-10-07dt-bindings: Add missing 'unevaluatedProperties'Rob Herring1-0/+2
This doesn't yet do anything in the tools, but make it explicit so we can check either 'unevaluatedProperties' or 'additionalProperties' is present in schemas. 'unevaluatedProperties' is appropriate when including another schema (via '$ref') and all possible properties and/or child nodes are not explicitly listed in the schema with the '$ref'. This is in preparation to add a meta-schema to check for missing 'unevaluatedProperties' or 'additionalProperties'. This has been a constant source of review issues. 2020-06-11dt-bindings: Remove more cases of 'allOf' containing a '$ref'Rob Herring1-3/+2
Another round of 'allOf' removals that came in this cycle. json-schema versions draft7 and earlier have a weird behavior in that any keywords combined with a '$ref' are ignored (silently). The correct form was to put a '$ref' under an 'allOf'. This behavior is now changed in the 2019-09 json-schema spec and '$ref' can be mixed with other keywords. The json-schema library doesn't yet support this, but the tooling now does a fixup for this and either way works. This has been a constant source of review comments, so let's change this treewide so everyone copies the simpler syntax. Signed-off-by: Rob Herring <robh@kernel.org>

2020-05-14dt-bindings: Fix incorrect 'reg' property sizesRob Herring2-3/+3
The examples template is a 'simple-bus' with a size of 1 cell for had between 2 and 4 cells which really only errors on I2C or SPI type devices with a single cell. The easiest fix in most cases is to change the 'reg' property to for 1 cell address and size. In some cases with child devices having 2 cells, that doesn't make sense so a bus node is needed. 2020-05-03dt-bindings: Remove cases of 'allOf' containing a '$ref'Rob Herring5-21/+12
json-schema versions draft7 and earlier have a weird behavior in that any keywords combined with a '$ref' are ignored (silently). Scripted with ruamel.yaml with some manual fixups. Some minor whitespace changes from the script. 2020-01-09dt-bindings: memory: Add Tegra186 memory subsystemThierry Reding1-0/+130
The NVIDIA Tegra186 SoC contains a memory subsystem composed of the memory controller and the external memory controller. The memory controller provides interfaces for the memory clients to access the memory. Accesses can be either bounced through the SMMU for IOVA translation or directly to the EMC. The bulk of the programming of the external memory controller happens through interfaces exposed by the BPMP. Describe this relationship by adding a phandle reference to the BPMP to the EMC node. Convert the device tree bindings for the Tegra124 EMC controller to the DT schema format using json-schema. While at it, clean up the binding a little bit by removing any mention of how RAM code and clock frequency are represented in unit-addresses (which they aren't) and by adding the EMC clock without which the EMC controller can't change the frequency at which the external memory is clocked. While this is technically an ABI break (the clock was not required before), this should be fine because there isn't much that the EMC driver can do without access to the EMC clock.
