git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/robh/linux Pull DeviceTree updates from Rob Herring: "There's a few orphans in the conversion to %pOF printf specifiers included here that no one else picked up. 2017-02-20dt-bindings: Add Tegra186 BPMP I2C bindingStephen Warren1-0/+42
In Tegra186, the BPMP (Boot and Power Management Processor) owns certain HW devices, such as the I2C controller for the power management I2C bus. 2017-01-12i2c: do not enable fall back to Host Notify by defaultDmitry Torokhov1-0/+8
Falling back unconditionally to HostNotify as primary client's interrupt breaks some drivers which alter their functionality depending on whether interrupt is present or not, so let's introduce a board flag telling I2C core explicitly if we want wired interrupt or HostNotify-based one: I2C_CLIENT_HOST_NOTIFY. For DT-based systems we introduce "host-notify" property that we convert to I2C_CLIENT_HOST_NOTIFY board flag. Linux) and hash page tables via debugfs. - Fix an oops in cxl coredump generation when cxl_get_fd() is used. - Freescale updates from Scott: "Highlights include 8xx hugepage support, qbman fixes/cleanup, device tree updates, and some misc cleanup." - Many and varied fixes and minor enhancements as always. Add per-Generation fallback bindings for R-Car SoCs. This is in keeping with the compatibility string scheme is being adopted for drivers for Renesas SoCs. Also, improve readability by listing the rmobile fallback compatibility string after the more-specific compatibility strings they provide a fallback for. 2016-12-12i2c: rcar: Add per-Generation fallback bindingsSimon Horman1-12/+20
In the case of Renesas R-Car hardware we know that there are generations of SoCs, e.g. Gen 2 and Gen 3. But beyond that it's not clear what the relationship between IP blocks might be. For example, I believe that r8a7790 is older than r8a7791 but that doesn't imply that the latter is a descendant of the former or vice versa. We can, however, by examining the documentation and behaviour of the hardware at run-time observe that the current driver implementation appears to be compatible with the IP blocks on SoCs within a given generation. For the above reasons and convenience when enabling new SoCs a per-generation fallback compatibility string scheme is being adopted for drivers for Renesas SoCs. Also: * Deprecate renesas,i2c-rcar. It seems poorly named as it is only compatible with R-Car Gen 1. It also appears unused in mainline. * Add some text to describe per-SoC bindings Signed-off-by: Simon Horman <horms+renesas@verge.net.au> Reviewed-by: Geert Uytterhoeven <geert+renesas@glider.be> Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa@the-dreams.de>
