2015-10-23i2c: imx: implement bus recoveryGao Pan1-0/+9
Implement bus recovery methods for i2c-imx so we can recover from situations where SCL/SDA are stuck low. Once i2c bus SCL/SDA are stuck low during transfer, config the i2c pinctrl to gpio mode by calling pinctrl sleep set function, and then use GPIO to emulate the i2c protocol to send nine dummy clock to recover i2c device. After recovery, set i2c pinctrl to default group setting. 2015-03-07i2c: imx: add required clocks property to bindingMatt Porter1-0/+1
A clock specifier is required for i.MX I2C and is provided in all DTS implementations. Add this to the list of required properties in the binding. Signed-off-by: Matt Porter <mporter@konsulko.com> Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa@the-dreams.de>
2014-11-18i2c: imx: add DMA support for freescale i2c driverYao Yuan1-0/+11
Add dma support for i2c. This function depend on DMA driver. You can turn on it by write both the dmas and dma-name properties in dts node. DMA is optional, even DMA request unsuccessfully, i2c can also work well. Signed-off-by: Yuan Yao <yao.yuan@freescale.com> Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa@the-dreams.de>
2013-08-23i2c: imx: use exact SoC revision to document bindingJingchang Lu1-1/+4
use exact SoC revision instead of wildcard describing the compatible property requirement in the binding document. This will make the binding more clearer. Signed-off-by: Jingchang Lu <b35083@freescale.com> Acked-by: Shawn Guo <shawn.guo@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Wolfram Sang <wsa@the-dreams.de>
2012-12-12Merge tag 'cleanup' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-socLinus Torvalds1-2/+2
Pull ARM SoC cleanups on various subarchitectures from Olof Johansson: "Cleanup patches for various ARM platforms and some of their associated drivers. There's also a branch in here that enables Freescale i.MX to be part of the multiplatform support -- the first "big" SoC that is moved over (more multiplatform work comes in a separate branch later during the merge window)." Conflicts fixed as per Olof, including a silent semantic one in arch/arm/mach-omap2/board-generic.c (omap_prcm_restart() was renamed to omap3xxx_restart(), and a new user of the old name was added). * tag 'cleanup' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc: (189 commits) ARM: omap: fix typo on timer cleanup ARM: EXYNOS: Remove unused regs-mem.h file ARM: EXYNOS: Remove unused non-dt support for dwmci controller ARM: Kirkwood: Use hw_pci.ops instead of hw_pci.scan ARM: OMAP3: cm-t3517: use GPTIMER for system clock ARM: OMAP2+: timer: remove CONFIG_OMAP_32K_TIMER ARM: SAMSUNG: use devm_ functions for ADC driver ARM: EXYNOS: no duplicate mask/unmask in eint0_15 ARM: S3C24XX: SPI clock channel setup is fixed for S3C2443 ARM: EXYNOS: Remove i2c0 resource information and setting of device names ARM: Kirkwood: checkpatch cleanups ARM: Kirkwood: Fix sparse warnings. 2012-11-15bindings: i2c: use consistent naming for i2c binding descriptionsWolfram Sang1-0/+25
Filenames of devictree binding documentation seems to be arbitrary and for me it is unneeded hazzle to find the corresponding documentation for a specific driver. Naming the description the same as the driver is a lot easier and makes sense to me since the driver defines the binding it understands. Also, remove a reference in one source to the binding documentation, since path information easily gets stale.
