2023-01-20dt-bindings: display/msm: convert MDP5 schema to YAML formatDmitry Baryshkov1-132/+0
Convert the mdp5.txt into the yaml format. Changes to the existing (txt) schema: - MSM8996 has additional "iommu" clock, define it separately - Add new properties used on some of platforms: - interconnects, interconnect-names - iommus - power-domains - operating-points-v2, opp-table Reviewed-by: Rob Herring <robh@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Dmitry Baryshkov <dmitry.baryshkov@linaro.org> Patchwork: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/518815/ Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20230118041243.1720520-2-dmitry.baryshkov@linaro.org Signed-off-by: Dmitry Baryshkov <dmitry.baryshkov@linaro.org>
2022-11-02dt-bindings: display/msm: split qcom, mdss bindingsDmitry Baryshkov1-29/+1
Split Mobile Display SubSystem (MDSS) root node bindings to the separate yaml file. Changes to the existing (txt) schema: - Added optional "vbif_nrt_phys" region used by msm8996 - Made "bus" and "vsync" clocks optional (they are not used by some platforms) - Added optional resets property referencing MDSS reset - Defined child nodes pointing to corresponding reference schema. - Dropped the "lut" clock. It was added to the schema by mistake (it is a part of mdp4 schema, not the mdss). 2019-11-05dt-bindings: msm/mdp5: Document optional TBU and TBU_RT clocksAngeloGioacchino Del Regno1-0/+2
These two clocks aren't present in all versions of the MDP5 HW: where present, they are needed to enable the Translation Buffer Unit(s). Signed-off-by: AngeloGioacchino Del Regno <kholk11@gmail.com> Acked-by: Rob Herring <robh@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Rob Clark <robdclark@chromium.org>
2018-07-25dt-bindings: remove 'interrupt-parent' from bindingsRob Herring1-2/+0
'interrupt-parent' is often documented as part of define bindings, but it is really outside the scope of a device binding. It's never required in a given node as it is often inherited from a parent node. Or it can be implicit if a parent node is an 'interrupt-controller' node. So remove it from all the binding files. 2017-10-28dt-bindings: display: msm: update clk namesRob Clark1-16/+16
Now that drm/msm is converted over to use msm_get_clk() everywhere (that matters), which handles falling back to looking for a clock with the "_clk" suffix, we can remove "_clk" from the documentation so that new dts files added do not include "_clk" in the name. Previously we were doing this for the more recently upstreamed bindings but not for (nearly) all. Signed-off-by: Rob Clark <robdclark@gmail.com> Acked-by: Rob Herring <robh@kernel.org>
2016-07-16dt-bindings: msm/mdp: Provide details on MDP interface portsArchit Taneja1-1/+47
The MDP4/5 DT node now contains a list of ports that describe how it connects to external encoder interfaces like DSI and HDMI. These follow the standard of_graph bindings, and allow us to get rid of the 'connectors' phandle that contained a list of all the external encoders connected to MDP. 2016-07-16dt-bindings: msm/mdp5: Add MDP5 display bindingsArchit Taneja1-0/+114
Add a new doc for DT bindings for platforms that contain MDP5 display controller hardware. The doc describes bindings for the top level MDSS wrapper hardware and MDP5 itself. Add an example for the bindings as found in MSM8916. Acked-by: Rob Herring <robh@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Archit Taneja <architt@codeaurora.org> Signed-off-by: Rob Clark <robdclark@gmail.com>
