2022-12-16 | dt-bindings: clock: drop redundant part of title | Krzysztof Kozlowski | 1 | -1/+1
The Devicetree bindings document does not have to say in the title that it is a "Devicetree binding", but instead just describe the hardware. Drop "Devicetree bindings" in various forms: find Documentation/devicetree/bindings/ -type f -name '*.yaml' \ -exec sed -i -e 's/^title: [dD]evice[ -]\?[tT]ree [cC]lock [bB]indings\? for \([tT]he \)\?\(.*\)$/title: \u\2 Clock Controller/' {} \; find Documentation/devicetree/bindings/ -type f -name '*.yaml' \ -exec sed -i -e 's/^title: [cC]lock [bB]indings\? for \([tT]he \)\?\(.*\)$/title: \u\2 Clock Controller/' {} \; Signed-off-by: Krzysztof Kozlowski <krzysztof.kozlowski@linaro.org> Acked-by: Alexandre Belloni <alexandre.belloni@bootlin.com> Reviewed-by: Jonathan Cameron <Jonathan.Cameron@huawei.com> Acked-by: Ulf Hansson <ulf.hansson@linaro.org> # MMC Acked-by: Stephen Boyd <sboyd@kernel.org> # clk Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20221216163815.522628-9-krzysztof.kozlowski@linaro.org Signed-off-by: Rob Herring <robh@kernel.org>
2022-01-11 | dt-bindings: clock: imx5: Drop clock consumer node from example | Rob Herring | 1 | -8/+1
The example nodes have different sized interrupt cells which is not valid given no interrupt-parent is specified. As provider examples don't need to show the consumer side in the first place, just drop the consumer node. Since commit: 0e030a373df3 ("can: flexcan: fix endianess detection") the fsl,imx53-flexcan isn't compatible with the fsl,p1010-flexcan any more. As the former accesses the IP core in Little Endian mode and the latter uses Big Endian mode. With the conversion of the flexcan DT bindings to yaml, the dt_binding_check this throws the following error: Documentation/devicetree/bindings/clock/imx5-clock.example.dt.yaml: can@53fc8000: compatible: 'oneOf' conditional failed, one must be fixed: ['fsl,imx53-flexcan', 'fsl,p1010-flexcan'] is too long Additional items are not allowed ('fsl,p1010-flexcan' was unexpected) 'fsl,imx53-flexcan' is not one of ['fsl,imx7d-flexcan', 'fsl,imx6ul-flexcan', 'fsl,imx6sx-flexcan'] 'fsl,imx53-flexcan' is not one of ['fsl,ls1028ar1-flexcan'] 'fsl,imx6q-flexcan' was expected 'fsl,lx2160ar1-flexcan' was expected From schema: /builds/robherring/linux-dt-bindings/Documentation/devicetree/bindings/net/can/fsl,flexcan.yaml The error is fixed by replacing the "fsl,p1010-flexcan" compatible (which turned out the be incompatible) with "fsl,imx25-flexcan" in the binding example.
