2016-07-29doc-rst: Remove the media docbookMauro Carvalho Chehab1-85/+0
Now that all media documentation was converted to Sphinx, we should get rid of the old DocBook one, as we don't want people to submit patches against the old stuff. 2016-02-01[media] DocBook media: make explicit that standard/timings never change ↵Hans Verkuil1-0/+10
automatically A driver might detect a new standard or DV timings, but it will never change to those new timings automatically. Instead it will send an event and let the application take care of it. Make this explicit in the documentation. 2012-09-26[media] DocBook: document when to return ENODATAHans Verkuil1-0/+8
ENODATA should be returned if the API used for getting, changing, querying or enumerating the current video timings is not supported by the current input or output. This was decided during the 2012 Media Workshop. Signed-off-by: Hans Verkuil <hans.verkuil@cisco.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
2011-07-28[media] DocBook: Use the generic ioctl error codes for all V4L ioctl'sMauro Carvalho Chehab1-23/+0
Be sure that all VIDIOC_* ioctl are using the return error macro, and aren't specifying generic error codes internally. Acked-by: Hans Verkuil <hans.verkuil@cisco.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@redhat.com>
2011-07-28[media] DocBook: Move all media docbook stuff into its own directoryMauro Carvalho Chehab1-0/+89
This patch addresses several issues pointed by Randy Dunlap <rdunlap@xenotime.net> at changeset ece722c: - In the generated index.html file, "media" is listed first, but it should be listed in alphabetical order, not first. - The generated files are (hidden) in .tmpmedia/ - The link from the top-level index.html file to "media" is to media/index.html, but the file is actually in .tmpmedia/media/index.html - Please build docs with and without using "O=builddir" and test that. - Would it be possible for media to have its own Makefile instead of merging into this one? Due to the way cleandocs target works, I had to rename the media DocBook to media_api, otherwise cleandocs would remove the /media directory.
