2024-04-03dt-bindings: net: snps,dwmac: Align 'snps,priority' type definitionRob Herring1-2/+4
'snps,priority' is also defined in dma/snps,dw-axi-dmac.yaml as a uint32-array. It's preferred to have a single type for a given property name, so update the type in snps,dwmac schema to match. 2024-04-03ipv6: Fix infinite recursion in fib6_dump_done().Kuniyuki Iwashima1-7/+7
syzkaller reported infinite recursive calls of fib6_dump_done() during netlink socket destruction. [1] From the log, syzkaller sent an AF_UNSPEC RTM_GETROUTE message, and then the response was generated. The following recvmmsg() resumed the dump for IPv6, but the first call of inet6_dump_fib() failed at kzalloc() due to the fault injection. [0] 12:01:34 executing program 3: r0 = socket$nl_route(0x10, 0x3, 0x0) sendmsg$nl_route(r0, ... snip ...) recvmmsg(r0, ... snip ...) (fail_nth: 8) Here, fib6_dump_done() was set to nlk_sk(sk)->cb.done, and the next call of inet6_dump_fib() set it to nlk_sk(sk)->cb.args[3]. syzkaller stopped receiving the response halfway through, and finally netlink_sock_destruct() called nlk_sk(sk)->cb.done(). fib6_dump_done() calls fib6_dump_end() and nlk_sk(sk)->cb.done() if it is still not NULL. fib6_dump_end() rewrites nlk_sk(sk)->cb.done() by nlk_sk(sk)->cb.args[3], but it has the same function, not NULL, calling itself recursively and hitting the stack guard page. To avoid the issue, let's set the destructor after kzalloc(). 2024-04-03Merge branch 'page_pool-allow-direct-bulk-recycling'Jakub Kicinski5-61/+63
Alexander Lobakin says: ==================== page_pool: allow direct bulk recycling Previously, there was no reliable way to check whether it's safe to use direct PP cache. The drivers were passing @allow_direct to the PP recycling functions and that was it. Bulk recycling is used by xdp_return_frame_bulk() on .ndo_xdp_xmit() frames completion where the page origin is unknown, thus the direct recycling has never been tried. Now that we have at least 2 ways of checking if we're allowed to perform direct recycling -- pool->p.napi (Jakub) and pool->cpuid (Lorenzo), we can use them when doing bulk recycling as well. Just move that logic from the skb core to the PP core and call it before __page_pool_put_page() every time @allow_direct is false. Under high .ndo_xdp_xmit() traffic load, the win is 2-3% Pps assuming the sending driver uses xdp_return_frame_bulk() on Tx completion. ==================== Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20240329165507.3240110-1-aleksander.lobakin@intel.com Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org>
2024-04-03page_pool: try direct bulk recyclingAlexander Lobakin1-2/+5
Now that the checks for direct recycling possibility live inside the Page Pool core, reuse them when performing bulk recycling. page_pool_put_page_bulk() can be called from process context as well, page_pool_napi_local() takes care of this at the very beginning. Under high .ndo_xdp_xmit() traffic load, the win is 2-3% Pps assuming the sending driver uses xdp_return_frame_bulk() on Tx completion. 2024-04-03page_pool: check for PP direct cache locality laterAlexander Lobakin5-59/+58
Since we have pool->p.napi (Jakub) and pool->cpuid (Lorenzo) to check whether it's safe to use direct recycling, we can use both globally for each page instead of relying solely on @allow_direct argument. Let's assume that @allow_direct means "I'm sure it's local, don't waste time rechecking this" and when it's false, try the mentioned params to still recycle the page directly. If neither is true, we'll lose some CPU cycles, but then it surely won't be hotpath. On the other hand, paths where it's possible to use direct cache, but not possible to safely set @allow_direct, will benefit from this move. The whole propagation of @napi_safe through a dozen of skb freeing functions can now go away, which saves us some stack space. 2024-04-03vsock/virtio: fix packet delivery to tap deviceMarco Pinna1-1/+2
Commit 82dfb540aeb2 ("VSOCK: Add virtio vsock vsockmon hooks") added virtio_transport_deliver_tap_pkt() for handing packets to the vsockmon device. However, in virtio_transport_send_pkt_work(), the function is called before actually sending the packet (i.e. before placing it in the virtqueue with virtqueue_add_sgs() and checking whether it returned successfully). Queuing the packet in the virtqueue can fail even multiple times. However, in virtio_transport_deliver_tap_pkt() we deliver the packet to the monitoring tap interface only the first time we call it. This certainly avoids seeing the same packet replicated multiple times in the monitoring interface, but it can show the packet sent with the wrong timestamp or even before we succeed to queue it in the virtqueue. Move virtio_transport_deliver_tap_pkt() after calling virtqueue_add_sgs() and making sure it returned successfully. 2024-04-03nfp: Avoid -Wflex-array-member-not-at-end warningsGustavo A. R. Silva1-16/+25
-Wflex-array-member-not-at-end is coming in GCC-14, and we are getting ready to enable it globally. There is currently an object (`tl`), at the beginning of multiple structures, that contains a flexible structure (`struct nfp_dump_tl`), for example: struct nfp_dumpspec_csr { struct nfp_dump_tl tl; ... __be32 register_width; /* in bits */ }; So, in order to avoid ending up with flexible-array members in the middle of multiple other structs, we use the `struct_group_tagged()` helper to separate the flexible array from the rest of the members in the flexible structure: struct nfp_dump_tl { struct_group_tagged(nfp_dump_tl_hdr, hdr, ... the rest of members ); char data[]; }; With the change described above, we now declare objects of the type of the tagged struct, in this case `struct nfp_dump_tl_hdr`, without embedding flexible arrays in the middle of another struct: struct nfp_dumpspec_csr { struct nfp_dump_tl_hdr tl; ... __be32 register_width; /* in bits */ }; Also, use `container_of()` whenever we need to retrieve a pointer to the flexible structure, through which we can access the flexible array if needed. So, with these changes, fix 33 of the following warnings: drivers/net/ethernet/netronome/nfp/nfp_net_debugdump.c:58:28: warning: structure containing a flexible array member is not at the end of another structure [-Wflex-array-member-not-at-end] drivers/net/ethernet/netronome/nfp/nfp_net_debugdump.c:64:28: warning: structure containing a flexible array member is not at the end of another structure [-Wflex-array-member-not-at-end] drivers/net/ethernet/netronome/nfp/nfp_net_debugdump.c:70:28: warning: structure containing a flexible array member is not at the end of another structure [-Wflex-array-member-not-at-end] drivers/net/ethernet/netronome/nfp/nfp_net_debugdump.c:78:28: warning: structure containing a flexible array member is not at the end of another structure [-Wflex-array-member-not-at-end] drivers/net/ethernet/netronome/nfp/nfp_net_debugdump.c:87:28: warning: structure containing a flexible array member is not at the end of another structure [-Wflex-array-member-not-at-end] drivers/net/ethernet/netronome/nfp/nfp_net_debugdump.c:92:28: warning: structure containing a flexible array member is not at the end of another structure [-Wflex-array-member-not-at-end] Link: https://github.com/KSPP/linux/issues/202 Signed-off-by: Gustavo A. 2024-04-02btrfs: always clear PERTRANS metadata during commitBoris Burkov1-1/+1

2024-04-02btrfs: make btrfs_clear_delalloc_extent() free delalloc reserveBoris Burkov1-1/+1
Currently, this call site in btrfs_clear_delalloc_extent() only converts the reservation. We are marking it not delalloc, so I don't think it makes sense to keep the rsv around. This is a path where we are not sure to join a transaction, so it leads to incorrect free-ing during umount. Helps with the pass rate of generic/269 and generic/475. 2024-04-02btrfs: qgroup: convert PREALLOC to PERTRANS after record_root_in_transBoris Burkov1-9/+8
The transaction is only able to free PERTRANS reservations for a root once that root has been recorded with the TRANS tag on the roots radix tree. Therefore, until we are sure that this root will get tagged, it isn't safe to convert. Generally, this is not an issue as *some* transaction will likely tag the root before long and this reservation will get freed in that transaction, but technically it could stick around until unmount and result in a warning about leaked metadata reservation space. This path is most exercised by running the generic/269 fstest with CONFIG_BTRFS_DEBUG. 2024-04-02btrfs: record delayed inode root in transactionBoris Burkov1-0/+3
When running delayed inode updates, we do not record the inode's root in the transaction, but we do allocate PREALLOC and thus converted PERTRANS space for it. To be sure we free that PERTRANS meta rsv, we must ensure that we record the root in the transaction. Fixes: 4f5427ccce5d ("btrfs: delayed-inode: Use new qgroup meta rsv for delayed inode and item") CC: stable@vger.kernel.org # 6.1+ Reviewed-by: Qu Wenruo <wqu@suse.com> Signed-off-by: Boris Burkov <boris@bur.io> Signed-off-by: David Sterba <dsterba@suse.com>
2024-04-02btrfs: qgroup: fix qgroup prealloc rsv leak in subvolume operationsBoris Burkov4-22/+40
Create subvolume, create snapshot and delete subvolume all use btrfs_subvolume_reserve_metadata() to reserve metadata for the changes done to the parent subvolume's fs tree, which cannot be mediated in the normal way via start_transaction. When quota groups (squota or qgroups) are enabled, this reserves qgroup metadata of type PREALLOC. Once the operation is associated to a transaction, we convert PREALLOC to PERTRANS, which gets cleared in bulk at the end of the transaction. However, the error paths of these three operations were not implementing this lifecycle correctly. They unconditionally converted the PREALLOC to PERTRANS in a generic cleanup step regardless of errors or whether the operation was fully associated to a transaction or not. This resulted in error paths occasionally converting this rsv to PERTRANS without calling record_root_in_trans successfully, which meant that unless that root got recorded in the transaction by some other thread, the end of the transaction would not free that root's PERTRANS, leaking it. Ultimately, this resulted in hitting a WARN in CONFIG_BTRFS_DEBUG builds at unmount for the leaked reservation. The fix is to ensure that every qgroup PREALLOC reservation observes the following properties: 1. any failure before record_root_in_trans is called successfully results in freeing the PREALLOC reservation. 2. after record_root_in_trans, we convert to PERTRANS, and now the transaction owns freeing the reservation. This patch enforces those properties on the three operations. Without it, generic/269 with squotas enabled at mkfs time would fail in ~5-10 runs on my system. With this patch, it ran successfully 1000 times in a row. 2024-04-02btrfs: qgroup: correctly model root qgroup rsv in convertBoris Burkov1-0/+2
We use add_root_meta_rsv and sub_root_meta_rsv to track prealloc and pertrans reservations for subvolumes when quotas are enabled. The convert function does not properly increment pertrans after decrementing prealloc, so the count is not accurate. Note: we check that the fs is not read-only to mirror the logic in qgroup_convert_meta, which checks that before adding to the pertrans rsv.
