2012-05-04PCI: disable Bus Master on PCI device shutdownKhalid Aziz1-0/+6
Disable Bus Master bit on the device in pci_device_shutdown() to ensure PCI devices do not continue to DMA data after shutdown. This can cause memory corruption in case of a kexec where the current kernel shuts down and transfers control to a new kernel while a PCI device continues to DMA to memory that does not belong to it any more in the new kernel. I have tested this code on two laptops, two workstations and a 16-socket server. kexec worked correctly on all of them. 2012-05-02PCI: work around IvyBridge internal graphics FLR erratumXudong Hao1-0/+58
For IvyBridge Mobile platform, a system hang may occur if a FLR (Function Level Reset) is asserted to internal graphics. This quirk is a workaround for the IVB FLR errata issue. We are disabling the FLR reset handshake between the PCH and CPU display, then manually powering down the panel power sequencing and resetting the PCH display. 2012-05-01PCI: move mutex locking out of pci_dev_reset functionKonrad Rzeszutek Wilk1-10/+17
The intent of git commit 6fbf9e7a90862988c278462d85ce9684605a52b2 "PCI: Introduce __pci_reset_function_locked to be used when holding device_lock." was to have a non-locking function that would call pci_dev_reset function. But it fell short of that by just probing and not actually reseting the device. To make that work we need a way to move the lock around device_lock to not be in pci_dev_reset (as the caller of __pci_reset_function_locked already holds said lock). We do this by renaming pci_dev_reset to __pci_dev_reset and bubbling said mutex out of __pci_dev_reset to pci_dev_reset (a wrapper around __pci_dev_reset). The __pci_reset_function_locked can now call __pci_dev_reset without having to worry about the dead-lock. 2012-05-01PCI: work around Stratus ftServer broken PCIe hierarchyBjorn Helgaas5-2/+34
A PCIe downstream port is a P2P bridge. Its secondary interface is a link that should lead only to device 0 (unless ARI is enabled)[1], so we don't probe for non-zero device numbers. Some Stratus ftServer systems have a PCIe downstream port (02:00.0) that leads to both an upstream port (03:00.0) and a downstream port (03:01.0), and 03:01.0 has important devices below it: [0000:02]-+-00.0-[03-3c]--+-00.0-[04-09]--... \-01.0-[0a-0d]--+-[USB] +-[NIC] +-... Previously, we didn't enumerate device 03:01.0, so USB and the network didn't work. This patch adds a DMI quirk to scan all device numbers, not just 0, below a downstream port. In pci_scan_acpi_root(), when pci_use_crs is set, get_current_resources() is used to get pci_root_info, and it will allocate name and resource array. Later if pci_create_root_bus() can not create bus (could be already there...) it will only free bus res list, but the name and res array is not freed. 2012-04-21mmc: sdhci: refine non-removable card checking for card detectionDaniel Drake1-1/+1
Commit c79396c191bc19 ("mmc: sdhci: prevent card detection activity for non-removable cards") disables card detection where the cards are marked as non-removable. This makes sense, but the implementation detail of calling mmc_card_is_removable() causes some problems, because mmc_card_is_removable() is overloaded with CONFIG_MMC_UNSAFE_RESUME semantics. In the OLPC XO case, we need CONFIG_MMC_UNSAFE_RESUME because our root filesystem is stored on SD, but we also have external SD card slots where we want automatic card detection. Refine the check to only apply to hosts marked as MMC_CAP_NONREMOVABLE, which is defined to mean that the card is *really* nonremovable. This could be revisited in future if we find a way to improve CONFIG_MMC_UNSAFE_RESUME semantics. 2012-04-21mmc: dw_mmc: Fix switch from DMA to PIOSeungwon Jeon1-1/+3
When dw_mci_pre_dma_transfer returns failure in some reasons, dw_mci_submit_data will prepare to switch the PIO mode from DMA. After switching to PIO mode, DMA(IDMAC in particular) is still enabled. This makes the corruption in handling interrupt and the driver lock-up. 2012-04-21mmc: remove MMC bus legacy suspend/resume methodChuanxiao Dong3-18/+10
MMC bus is using legacy suspend/resume method, which is not compatible if runtime pm callbacks are used. In this scenario, MMC bus suspend/resume callbacks cannot be called when system entering S3. So change to use the new defined dev_pm_ops for system sleeping mode. Tested on AM335x Platform. 2012-04-21VM: add "vm_mmap()" helper functionLinus Torvalds15-97/+87
This continues the theme started with vm_brk() and vm_munmap(): vm_mmap() does the same thing as do_mmap(), but additionally does the required VM locking. This uninlines (and rewrites it to be clearer) do_mmap(), which sadly duplicates it in mm/mmap.c and mm/nommu.c. But that way we don't have to export our internal do_mmap_pgoff() function. Some day we hopefully don't have to export do_mmap() either, if all modular users can become the simpler vm_mmap() instead. We're actually very close to that already, with the notable exception of the (broken) use in i810, and a couple of stragglers in binfmt_elf. of_have_populated_dt() is not expected to be used in drivers but instead only in early platform init code. Drivers on the other hand should rely on dev->of_node or of_match_device(). Besides usage of of_have_populated_dt() also throws up build error as below which was reported by Balaji TK, when omap_hsmmc is built as a module. 2012-04-21mmc: fixes for eMMC v4.5 discard operationAdrian Hunter2-4/+5
eMMC v4.5 discard operation is significantly different from the existing trim operation because it is not guaranteed to work with the new sanitize operation. Consequently mmc_can_trim() is separated from mmc_can_discard(). Also the new discard operation does not result in the sectors being set to all-zeros, so discard_zeroes_data must not be set. In addition, the new discard has the same timeout as trim, but from v4.5 trim is defined to use the hc timeout. The timeout calculation is adjusted accordingly. Fixes apply to linux 3.2 on.
