2009-02-07x86: asm/io.h: unify ioremap prototypesJeremy Fitzhardinge3-51/+31
Impact: unify identical code asm/io_32.h and _64.h have identical prototypes for the ioremap family of functions. The 32-bit header had a more descriptive comment. Signed-off-by: Jeremy Fitzhardinge <jeremy.fitzhardinge@citrix.com>
2009-02-07x86: asm/io.h: unify virt_to_phys/phys_to_virtJeremy Fitzhardinge3-94/+59
Impact: unify identical code asm/io_32.h and _64.h has functionally identical definitions for virt_to_phys, phys_to_virt, page_to_phys, and the isa_* variants, so just unify them. The only slightly functional change is using phys_addr_t for the physical address argument and return val. Signed-off-by: Jeremy Fitzhardinge <jeremy.fitzhardinge@citrix.com>
2009-02-06x86: make pgd/pud/pmd/pte_none consistentJeremy Fitzhardinge1-3/+3
The _none test is done differently for every level of the pagetable. Standardize them by: 1: Use the native_X_val to extract the raw entry, with no need to go via paravirt_ops, diff -r 1d0646d0d319 arch/x86/include/asm/pgtable.h, and 2: Compare with 0 rather than using a boolean !, since they are actually values and not booleans. Signed-off-by: Jeremy Fitzhardinge <jeremy.fitzhardinge@citrix.com>
2009-02-06x86: add and use pgd/pud/pmd_flagsJeremy Fitzhardinge2-8/+23
Add pgd/pud/pmd_flags which are analogous to pte_flags, and use them where-ever we only care about testing the flags portions of the respective entries. Signed-off-by: Jeremy Fitzhardinge <jeremy.fitzhardinge@citrix.com>

2009-02-01Fix memory corruption in console selectionMikulas Patocka1-1/+1
Fix an off-by-two memory error in console selection. The loop below goes from sel_start to sel_end (inclusive), so it writes one more character. This one more character was added to the allocated size (+1), but it was not multiplied by an UTF-8 multiplier. This patch fixes a memory corruption when UTF-8 console is used and the user selects a few characters, all of them 3-byte in UTF-8 (for example a frame line). When memory redzones are enabled, a redzone corruption is reported. When they are not enabled, trashing of random memory occurs. 2009-02-01Stop playing silly games with the VM_ACCOUNT flagLinus Torvalds4-27/+29
The mmap_region() code would temporarily set the VM_ACCOUNT flag for anonymous shared mappings just to inform shmem_zero_setup() that it should enable accounting for the resulting shm object. It would then clear the flag after calling ->mmap (for the /dev/zero case) or doing shmem_zero_setup() (for the MAP_ANON case). This just resulted in vma merge issues, but also made for just unnecessary confusion. Use the already-existing VM_NORESERVE flag for this instead, and let shmem_{zero|file}_setup() just figure it out from that. This also happens to make it obvious that the new DRI2 GEM layer uses a non-reserving backing store for its object allocation - which is quite possibly not intentional. But since I didn't want to change semantics in this patch, I left it alone, and just updated the caller to use the new flag semantics. Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
2009-01-31igb: fix link reporting when using sgmiiAlexander Duyck1-2/+9
When using sgmii the link was not being properly passed up to the driver from the underlying link management functions. This change corrects it so that get_link_status is cleared when a link has been found. 2009-01-31igb: prevent skb_over panic w/ mtu smaller than 1KAlexander Duyck1-4/+4
A panic has been observed with frame sizes smaller than 1K. This has been root caused to the hardware spanning larger frames across multiple buffers and then reporting the original frame size in the first descriptor. To prevent this we can enable set the LPE bit which in turn will restrict packet sizes to those set in the RLPML register. 2009-01-31igb: Fix DCA errors and do not use context index for 82576Alexander Duyck2-15/+10
82576 was being incorrectly flagged as needing a context index. It does not as each ring has it's own table of 2 contexts. Driver was registering after registering the driver instead of the other way around.
