commit d129c3177d7b1138fd5066fcc63a698b3ba415b0 upstream.

pfkey_msg2xfrm_state() handles the IPComp (SADB_X_SATYPE_IPCOMP) case by
allocating x-&gt;calg and copying only the algorithm name:

	x-&gt;calg = kmalloc_obj(*x-&gt;calg);
	if (!x-&gt;calg) {
		err = -ENOMEM;
		goto out;
	}
	strcpy(x-&gt;calg-&gt;alg_name, a-&gt;name);
	x-&gt;props.calgo = sa-&gt;sadb_sa_encrypt;

Unlike the authentication (x-&gt;aalg) and encryption (x-&gt;ealg) branches of
the same function, the compression branch never initializes
calg-&gt;alg_key_len. IPComp carries no key and the allocation only
reserves sizeof(struct xfrm_algo) (i.e. no room for a key), so the field
is left containing uninitialized slab data.

calg-&gt;alg_key_len is later used as a length by xfrm_algo_clone() when an
IPComp state is cloned during XFRM_MSG_MIGRATE:

	xfrm_state_migrate()
	  xfrm_state_clone_and_setup()
	    x-&gt;calg = xfrm_algo_clone(orig-&gt;calg);
	      kmemdup(orig, xfrm_alg_len(orig));

where xfrm_alg_len() returns sizeof(*alg) + (alg_key_len + 7) / 8.  With
a non-zero garbage alg_key_len, kmemdup() reads past the end of the
68-byte calg object. Adding an IPComp SA via PF_KEY and then migrating
it triggers (net-next, KASAN, init_on_alloc=0):

Depending on the uninitialized value the same field can instead request
an oversized kmemdup() allocation and make the migration clone fail.

The XFRM netlink path is not affected: verify_one_alg() rejects an
XFRMA_ALG_COMP attribute shorter than xfrm_alg_len(), so a calg added via
XFRM_MSG_NEWSA is always self-consistent.

Initialize calg-&gt;alg_key_len to 0, matching the aalg/ealg branches.

<title>xfrm: route MIGRATE notifications to caller's netns</title>

commit 7e2a4f7ca0952820731ef7bdadfc9a9e9d3571b4 upstream.

xfrm_send_migrate() in net/xfrm/xfrm_user.c and pfkey_send_migrate()
in net/key/af_key.c both hardcode &amp;init_net for the multicast that
announces a successful XFRM_MSG_MIGRATE / SADB_X_MIGRATE.

XFRM_MSG_MIGRATE arrives on a per-netns NETLINK_XFRM socket, and the
rest of the xfrm/af_key netlink path was made netns-aware in 2008.
The other 14 multicast paths in xfrm_user.c route their event using
xs_net(x), xp_net(xp) or sock_net(skb-&gt;sk); only the migrate path
was missed.

Two consequences of the init_net hardcoding:

  1. The notification (selector, old/new endpoint addresses, and the
     km_address) is delivered to listeners on init_net's
     XFRMNLGRP_MIGRATE / pfkey BROADCAST_ALL groups rather than on
     the issuing netns. An IKE daemon running in init_net therefore
     receives migration notifications originating from any other
     netns on the host.

  2. An IKE daemon running inside a non-init netns and subscribed
     to its own XFRMNLGRP_MIGRATE / pfkey groups never receives the
     notification of its own migration. IKEv2 MOBIKE / address-update
     handling inside a netns is silently broken.

Thread struct net through km_migrate() and the xfrm_mgr.migrate
function pointer, drop the &amp;init_net override in xfrm_send_migrate()
and pfkey_send_migrate(), and pass the caller's net (already in
scope in xfrm_migrate() via sock_net(skb-&gt;sk)) all the way down.
struct xfrm_mgr is in-tree only and not exported as a stable API,
so the function-pointer signature change is internal.

pfkey_broadcast() is already netns-aware via net_generic(net,
pfkey_net_id) since the pernet conversion. The five other
pfkey_broadcast() callers in af_key.c already pass xs_net(x),
sock_net(sk) or a per-netns net, so this only removes the
&amp;init_net outlier.

syzbot was able to trigger a crash in skb_put() [1]

Issue is that pfkey_send_migrate() does not check old/new families,
and that set_ipsecrequest() @family argument was truncated,
thus possibly overfilling the skb.

Validate families early, do not wait set_ipsecrequest().

[ Upstream commit 2a198bbec6913ae1c90ec963750003c6213668c7 ]

This reverts commit f75a2804da391571563c4b6b29e7797787332673.

With all states (whether user or kern) removed from the hashtables
during deletion, there's no need for synchronous destruction of
states. xfrm6_tunnel states still need to have been destroyed (which
will be the case when its last user is deleted (not destroyed)) so
that xfrm6_tunnel_free_spi removes it from the per-netns hashtable
before the netns is destroyed.

This has the benefit of skipping one synchronize_rcu per state (in
__xfrm_state_destroy(sync=true)) when we exit a netns.

xfrm_state_find() uses `encap_family` of the current template with
the passed local and remote addresses to find a matching state.
If an optional tunnel or BEET mode template is skipped in a mixed-family
scenario, there could be a mismatch causing an out-of-bounds read as
the addresses were not replaced to match the family of the next template.

While there are theoretical use cases for optional templates in outbound
policies, the only practical one is to skip IPComp states in inbound
policies if uncompressed packets are received that are handled by an
implicitly created IPIP state instead.

Kernel 5.14 added a new "byseq" index to speed
up xfrm_state lookups by sequence number in commit
fe9f1d8779cb ("xfrm: add state hashtable keyed by seq")

While the patch was thorough, the function pfkey_send_new_mapping()
in net/af_key.c also modifies x-&gt;km.seq and never added
the current xfrm_state to the "byseq" index.

This leads to the following kernel Ooops:

Exact location of the crash in __xfrm_state_delete():
    if (x-&gt;km.seq)
        hlist_del_rcu(&amp;x-&gt;byseq);

The hlist_node "byseq" was never populated.

The bug only triggers if a new NAT traversal mapping (changed IP or port)
is detected in esp_input_done2() / esp6_input_done2(), which in turn
indirectly calls pfkey_send_new_mapping() *if* the kernel is compiled
with CONFIG_NET_KEY and "af_key" is active.

The PF_KEYv2 message SADB_X_NAT_T_NEW_MAPPING is not part of RFC 2367.
Various implementations have been examined how they handle
the "sadb_msg_seq" header field:

- racoon (Android): does not process SADB_X_NAT_T_NEW_MAPPING
- strongswan: does not care about sadb_msg_seq
- openswan: does not care about sadb_msg_seq

There is no standard how PF_KEYv2 sadb_msg_seq should be populated
for SADB_X_NAT_T_NEW_MAPPING and it's not used in popular
implementations either. Herbert Xu suggested we should just
use the current km.seq value as is. This fixes the root cause
of the oops since we no longer modify km.seq itself.

The update of "km.seq" looks like a copy'n'paste error
from pfkey_send_acquire(). SADB_ACQUIRE must indeed assign a unique km.seq
number according to RFC 2367. It has been verified that code paths
involving pfkey_send_acquire() don't cause the same Oops.

PF_KEYv2 SADB_X_NAT_T_NEW_MAPPING support was originally added here:

The function pfkey_send_acquire may race with pfkey_register
(which could even be in a different name space). This may result
in a buffer overrun.

Allocating the maximum amount of memory that could be used prevents
this.
