[ Upstream commit 6305d821e3b9b5379d348528e5b5faf316383bc2 ]

While reading sysctl_igmp_max_memberships, it can be changed concurrently.
Thus, we need to add READ_ONCE() to its reader.

While reading sysctl_igmp_llm_reports, it can be changed concurrently.
Thus, we need to add READ_ONCE() to its readers.

This test can be packed into a helper, so such changes will be in the
follow-up series after net is merged into net-next.

      !READ_ONCE(net-&gt;ipv4.sysctl_igmp_llm_reports))

<title>net: igmp: respect RCU rules in ip_mc_source() and ip_mc_msfilter()</title>

commit dba5bdd57bea587ea4f0b79b03c71135f84a7e8b upstream.

syzbot reported an UAF in ip_mc_sf_allow() [1]

Whenever RCU protected list replaces an object,
the pointer to the new object needs to be updated
_before_ the call to kfree_rcu() or call_rcu()

Because kfree_rcu(ptr, rcu) got support for NULL ptr
only recently in commit 12edff045bc6 ("rcu: Make kfree_rcu()
ignore NULL pointers"), I chose to use the conditional
to make sure stable backports won't miss this detail.

if (psl)
    kfree_rcu(psl, rcu);

net/ipv6/mcast.c has similar issues, addressed in a separate patch.

It is one use-after-free in ip_check_mc_rcu.
In ip_mc_del_src, the ip_sf_list of pmc has been freed under pmc-&gt;lock protection.
But access to ip_sf_list in ip_check_mc_rcu is not protected by the lock.

In commit 24803f38a5c0 ("igmp: do not remove igmp souce list info when set
link down"), the ip_mc_clear_src() in ip_mc_destroy_dev() was removed,
because it was also called in igmpv3_clear_delrec().

Rough callgraph:

inetdev_destroy
-&gt; ip_mc_destroy_dev
     -&gt; igmpv3_clear_delrec
        -&gt; ip_mc_clear_src
-&gt; RCU_INIT_POINTER(dev-&gt;ip_ptr, NULL)

However, ip_mc_clear_src() called in igmpv3_clear_delrec() doesn't
release in_dev-&gt;mc_list-&gt;sources. And RCU_INIT_POINTER() assigns the
NULL to dev-&gt;ip_ptr. As a result, in_dev cannot be obtained through
inetdev_by_index() and then in_dev-&gt;mc_list-&gt;sources cannot be released
by ip_mc_del1_src() in the sock_close. Rough call sequence goes like:

sock_close
-&gt; __sock_release
   -&gt; inet_release
      -&gt; ip_mc_drop_socket
         -&gt; inetdev_by_index
         -&gt; ip_mc_leave_src
            -&gt; ip_mc_del_src
               -&gt; ip_mc_del1_src

So we still need to call ip_mc_clear_src() in ip_mc_destroy_dev() to free
in_dev-&gt;mc_list-&gt;sources.

im-&gt;tomb and/or im-&gt;sources might not be NULL, but we
currently overwrite their values blindly.

Using swap() will make sure the following call to kfree_pmc(pmc)
will properly free the psf structures.

Tested with the C repro provided by syzbot, which basically does :

 socket(PF_INET, SOCK_DGRAM, IPPROTO_IP) = 3
 setsockopt(3, SOL_IP, IP_ADD_MEMBERSHIP, "\340\0\0\2\177\0\0\1\0\0\0\0", 12) = 0

[ Upstream commit 3580d04aa674383c42de7b635d28e52a1e5bc72c ]

syzbot reported memory leaks [1] that I have back tracked to
a missing cleanup from igmpv3_del_delrec() when
(im-&gt;sfmode != MCAST_INCLUDE)

Add ip_sf_list_clear_all() and kfree_pmc() helpers to explicitely
handle the cleanups before freeing.

There are two scenarios that we will restore deleted records. The first is
when device down and up(or unmap/remap). In this scenario the new filter
mode is same with previous one. Because we get it from in_dev-&gt;mc_list and
we do not touch it during device down and up.

The other scenario is when a new socket join a group which was just delete
and not finish sending status reports. In this scenario, we should use the
current filter mode instead of restore old one. Here are 4 cases in total.

old_socket        new_socket       before_fix       after_fix
