This reverts commit 6a9dc5fd6170 ("lib: Revert use of fallthrough pseudo-keyword in lib/") Now that we can build arch/powerpc/boot/ free of -Wimplicit-fallthrough, re-enable these fixes for lib/. I am not sure what the solution is, the PowerPC wrapper does not set -D__KERNEL__ so I am not sure that compiler_attributes.h can be safely included." In order to avoid these sort of problems, it seems that the best solution is to use /* fall through */ comments instead of the fallthrough pseudo-keyword macro in lib/, for now. lib/ts_fsm.c: replace zero-length array with flexible-array member

The current codebase makes use of the zero-length array language extension to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to declare variable-length types such as these ones is a flexible array member[1][2], introduced in C99: struct foo { int stuff; struct boo array[]; }; By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning in case the flexible array does not occur last in the structure, which will help us prevent some kind of undefined behavior bugs from being inadvertenly introduced[3] to the codebase from now on. This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle. - added typedef unsigned int __nocast gfp_t; - replaced __nocast uses for gfp flags with gfp_t - it gives exactly the same warnings as far as sparse is concerned, doesn't change generated code (from gcc point of view we replaced unsigned int with typedef) and documents what's going on far better.
