[ Upstream commit c36f9d7b2869a003a2f7d6ff2c6bac9e62fd7d68 ]

After commit 25524b619029 ("fs/nls: Fix utf16 to utf8 conversion"),
the return values of utf8_to_utf32() and utf32_to_utf8() are
inconsistent when encountering an error: utf8_to_utf32() returns -1,
while utf32_to_utf8() returns errno codes. Fix this inconsistency
by modifying utf8_to_utf32() to return errno codes as well.

[ Upstream commit 25524b6190295577e4918c689644451365e6466d ]

Currently the function responsible for converting between utf16 and
utf8 strings will ignore any characters that cannot be converted. This
however also includes multi-byte characters that do not fit into the
provided string buffer.

This can cause problems if such a multi-byte character is followed by
a single-byte character. In such a case the multi-byte character might
be ignored when the provided string buffer is too small, but the
single-byte character might fit and is thus still copied into the
resulting string.

Fix this by stop filling the provided string buffer once a character
does not fit. In order to be able to do this extend utf32_to_utf8()
to return useful errno codes instead of -1.

asm/unaligned.h is always an include of asm-generic/unaligned.h;
might as well move that thing to linux/unaligned.h and include
that - there's nothing arch-specific in that header.

Use the UCS-2 upper case tables from nls, that are shared
with smb.

This code in JFS is hard to test, so we're only reusing the
same tables (which are identical), not trying to reuse the
rest of the helper functions.

Swing most of the inline functions and unicode tables into nls
from the copy in smb/server. This is UCS-2 rather than most
of the rest of the code in NLS, but it currently seems like the
best place for it.

The actual unicode.c implementations vary much more between server
and client so they're unmoved.

load_nls() take a char * parameter, use it to find nls module in list or
construct the module name to load it.

This change make load_nls() take a const parameter, so we don't need do
some cast like this:

        ses->local_nls = load_nls((char *)ctx->local_nls->charset);

Since commit 84af7a6194e4 ("checkpatch: kconfig: prefer 'help' over
'---help---'"), the number of '---help---' has been gradually
decreasing, but there are still more than 2400 instances.

This commit finishes the conversion. While I touched the lines,
I also fixed the indentation.

There are a variety of indentation styles found.

  a) 4 spaces + '---help---'
  b) 7 spaces + '---help---'
  c) 8 spaces + '---help---'
  d) 1 space + 1 tab + '---help---'
  e) 1 tab + '---help---'    (correct indentation)
  f) 1 tab + 1 space + '---help---'
  g) 1 tab + 2 spaces + '---help---'

In order to convert all of them to 1 tab + 'help', I ran the
following commend:

  $ find . -name 'Kconfig*' | xargs sed -i 's/^[[:space:]]*---help---/\thelp/'
