Expands range of matched bcdDevice values for the VL817 quirk entry.
This is based on experience with Axagon EE35-GTR rev1 3.5" HDD
enclosure, which reports its bcdDevice as 0x0843, but presumably other
vendors using this IC in their products may set it to any other value.

Many Realtek USB Wi-Fi dongles released in recent years have two modes:
one is driver CD mode which has Windows driver onboard, another one is
Wi-Fi mode. Add the US_FL_IGNORE_DEVICE quirk for these multi-mode devices.
Otherwise, usb_modeswitch may fail to switch them to Wi-Fi mode.

Currently there are only two USB IDs known to be used by these multi-mode
Wi-Fi dongles: 0bda:1a2b and 0bda:a192.

<title>usb-storage: Add max sectors quirk for Nokia 208</title>

This fixes data corruption when accessing the internal SD card in mass
storage mode.

I am actually not too sure why. I didn't figure a straightforward way to
reproduce the issue, but i seem to get garbage when issuing a lot (over 50)
of large reads (over 120 sectors) are done in a quick succession. That is,
time seems to matter here -- larger reads are fine if they are done with
some delay between them.

But I'm not great at understanding this sort of things, so I'll assume
the issue other, smarter, folks were seeing with similar phones is the
same problem and I'll just put my quirk next to theirs.

The "Software details" screen on the phone is as follows:

  V 04.06
  07-08-13
  RM-849
  (c) Nokia

TL;DR version of the device descriptor:

  idVendor 0x0421 Nokia Mobile Phones
  idProduct 0x06c2
  bcdDevice 4.06
  iManufacturer 1 Nokia
  iProduct 2 Nokia 208

The patch assumes older firmwares are broken too (I'm unable to test, but
no biggie if they aren't I guess), and I have no idea if newer firmware
exists.

JieLi tends to use SCSI via USB Mass Storage to implement their own
proprietary commands instead of implementing another USB interface.
Enumerating it as a generic mass storage device will lead to a Hardware
Error sense key get reported.

Ignore this bogus device to prevent appearing a unusable sdX device

This flash drive reports write protect during the first mode sense.

In the past this was not an issue as the kernel called revalidate twice,
thus asking the device for its write protect status twice, with write
protect being disabled in the second mode sense.

However, since commit 1e029397d12f ("scsi: sd: Reorganize DIF/DIX code to
avoid calling revalidate twice") that is no longer the case, thus the
device shows up read only.

[490891.289495] sd 12:0:0:0: [sdl] Write Protect is on
[490891.289497] sd 12:0:0:0: [sdl] Mode Sense: 2b 00 80 08

This does not appear to be a timing issue, as enabling the usbcore quirk
USB_QUIRK_DELAY_INIT has no effect on write protect.

This reverts commit 86d92f5465958752481269348d474414dccb1552,
which fix the timeout issue for "Samsung Fit Flash".

But the commit affects not only "Samsung Fit Flash" but also other usb
storages that use the same controller and causes severe performance
regression.

 # hdparm -t /dev/sda (without the quirk)
 Timing buffered disk reads: 622 MB in 3.01 seconds = 206.66 MB/sec

 # hdparm -t /dev/sda (with the quirk)
 Timing buffered disk reads: 220 MB in 3.00 seconds = 73.32 MB/sec

The commit author mentioned that "Issue was reproduced after device has
bad block", so this quirk should be applied when we have the timeout
issue with a device that has bad blocks.

We revert the commit so that we apply this quirk by adding kernel
paramters using a bootloader or other ways when we really need it,
without the performance regression with devices that don't have the
issue.

<id>urn:sha1:5b67b315037250a61861119683e7fcb509deea25</id>
<content type='text'>
Two people have reported (and mentioned numerous other reports on the
web) that VIA's VL817 USB-SATA bridge does not work with the uas
driver. Typical log messages are:

[ 3606.232149] sd 14:0:0:0: [sdg] tag#2 uas_zap_pending 0 uas-tag 1 inflight: CMD
[ 3606.232154] sd 14:0:0:0: [sdg] tag#2 CDB: Write(16) 8a 00 00 00 00 00 18 0c c9 80 00 00 00 80 00 00
[ 3606.306257] usb 4-4.4: reset SuperSpeed Plus Gen 2x1 USB device number 11 using xhci_hcd
[ 3606.328584] scsi host14: uas_eh_device_reset_handler success

Surprisingly, the devices do seem to work okay for some other people.
The cause of the differing behaviors is not known.

In the hope of getting the devices to work for the most users, even at
the possible cost of degraded performance for some, this patch adds an
unusual_devs entry for the VL817 to block it from binding to the uas
driver by default. Users will be able to override this entry by means
of a module parameter, if they want.
