printer_read() uses the same variable for the requested copy size and
the number of bytes actually copied to user space. copy_to_user()
returns the number of bytes not copied, so when it fails to copy
anything, the computed copied length becomes zero.

In that case len, buf, current_rx_bytes and current_rx_buf are left
unchanged. If RX data is available and the user buffer remains
unwritable, the read loop can repeat indefinitely.

Track the copied length separately and return -EFAULT, or the number of
bytes already copied, if an iteration makes no progress.

<title>usb: gadget: f_printer: take kref only for successful open</title>

printer_open() returns -EBUSY when the character device is already
open, but it increments dev-&gt;kref regardless of the return value. VFS
does not call -&gt;release() for a failed open, so every rejected second
open permanently leaks one reference.

Move kref_get() into the successful-open branch.

<title>Convert 'alloc_obj' family to use the new default GFP_KERNEL argument</title>

This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using

    git grep -l '\&lt;k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' |
        xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/'

to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL
argument to just drop that argument.

Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.

For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate
conversion.

This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:

Single allocations:	kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)

Array allocations:	kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)

Flex array allocations:	kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)

(where TYPE may also be *VAR)

The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning
"TYPE *".

'struct configfs_item_operations' and 'configfs_group_operations' are not
modified in these drivers.

Constifying these structures moves some data to a read-only section, so
increases overall security, especially when the structure holds some
function pointers.

On a x86_64, with allmodconfig, as an example:
Before:
======
text data bss dec hex	filename
  65061 20968 256 86285 1510d	drivers/usb/gadget/configfs.o

asm/unaligned.h is always an include of asm-generic/unaligned.h;
might as well move that thing to linux/unaligned.h and include
that - there's nothing arch-specific in that header.

printer_read() and printer_write() guard against the race
against disable() by checking the dev-&gt;interface flag,
which in turn is guarded by a spinlock.
These functions, however, drop the lock on multiple occasions.
This means that the test has to be redone after reacquiring
the lock and before doing IO.

Add the tests.

This also addresses CVE-2024-25741
