This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union object instances: Single allocations: kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...) Array allocations: kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...) Flex array allocations: kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...) (where TYPE may also be *VAR) The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning "TYPE *". Signed-off-by: Kees Cook

However, the refcount is not decremented in .release(), thus call of_node_put() in sdw_slave_release(). Use SDCA helpers to get the basic information and store it in the slave context. The information will be optionally be used in codec drivers to register sub-devices for each Function. When platforms are not based on ACPI the helpers do absolutely nothing. Since commit aed65af1cc2f ("drivers: make device_type const"), the driver core can properly handle constant struct device_type. Move the sdw_master_type and sdw_slave_type variables to be constant structures as well, placing it into read-only memory which can not be modified at runtime. soundwire: fix initializing sysfs for same devices on different buses

If same devices with same device IDs are present on different soundwire buses, the probe fails due to conflicting device names and sysfs entries: sysfs: cannot create duplicate filename '/bus/soundwire/devices/sdw:0:0217:0204:00:0' The link ID is 0 for both devices, so they should be differentiated by the controller ID.
