<title>soc/tegra: pmc: Ensure power-domains are in a known state</title>

After commit 13a4b7fb6260 ("pmdomain: core: Leave powered-on genpds on
until late_initcall_sync") was applied, the Tegra210 Jetson TX1 board
failed to boot. Looking into this issue, before this commit was applied,
if any of the Tegra power-domains were in 'on' state when the kernel
booted, they were being turned off by the genpd core before any driver
had chance to request them. This was purely by luck and a consequence of
the power-domains being turned off earlier during boot. After this
commit was applied, any power-domains in the 'on' state are kept on for
longer during boot and therefore, may never transitioned to the off
state before they are requested/used. The hang on the Tegra210 Jetson
TX1 is caused because devices in some power-domains are accessed without
the power-domain being turned off and on, indicating that the
power-domain is not in a completely on state.

&gt;From reviewing the Tegra PMC driver code, if a power-domain is in the
'on' state there is no guarantee that all the necessary clocks
associated with the power-domain are on and even if they are they would
not have been requested via the clock framework and so could be turned
off later. Some power-domains also have a 'clamping' register that needs
to be configured as well. In short, if a power-domain is already 'on' it
is difficult to know if it has been configured correctly. Given that the
power-domains happened to be switched off during boot previously, to
ensure that they are in a good known state on boot, fix this by
switching off any power-domains that are on initially when registering
the power-domains with the genpd framework.

Note that commit 05cfb988a4d0 ("soc/tegra: pmc: Initialise resets
associated with a power partition") updated the
tegra_powergate_of_get_resets() function to pass the 'off' to ensure
that the resets for the power-domain are in the correct state on boot.
However, now that we may power off a domain on boot, if it is on, it is
better to move this logic into the tegra_powergate_add() function so
that there is a single place where we are handling the initial state of
the power-domain.

The DMA subsystem could be entirely disabled in Kconfig and then the
TEGRA20_APB_DMA option isn't available too. Hence kernel configuration
fails if DMADEVICES Kconfig option is disabled due to the unsatisfiable
dependency.

The FUSE driver isn't a critical driver and currently it only provides
NVMEM interface to userspace which isn't known to be widely used, and
thus, it's fine if FUSE driver fails to load.

Let's remove the erroneous Kconfig dependency and let the FUSE driver to
fail the probing if DMA is unavailable.

The motivation for the warning is that logical operations short circuit
while bitwise operations do not.

In this instance, tegra_fuse_read_spare() is not semantically returning
a boolean, it is returning a bit value. Use u32 for its return type so
that it can be used with either bitwise or boolean operators without any
warnings.

The tegra_powergate_power_up() has a typo in the error code path where it
will try to disable clocks twice, fix it. In practice that error never
happens, so this is a minor correction.

If an error occurs after a successful tegra_powergate_enable_clocks()
call, it must be undone by a tegra_powergate_disable_clocks() call, as
already done in the below and above error handling paths of this function.

Update the 'goto' to branch at the correct place of the error handling
path.

Fix voltage coupler lockup which happens when voltage-spread is out
of range due to a bug in the code. The max-spread requirement shall be
accounted when CPU regulator doesn't have consumers. This problem is
observed on Tegra30 Ouya game console once system-wide DVFS is enabled
in a device-tree.

The SW-initiated power gate toggling is dropped by PMC if there is
contention with a HW-initiated toggling, i.e. when one of CPU cores is
gated by cpuidle driver. Software should retry the toggling after 10
microseconds on Tegra20/30 SoCs, hence add the retrying. On Tegra114+ the
toggling method was changed in hardware, the TOGGLE_START bit indicates
whether PMC is busy or could accept the command to toggle, hence handle
that bit properly.

The problem pops up after enabling dynamic power gating of 3D hardware,
where 3D power domain fails to turn on/off "randomly".

The programming sequence and quirks are documented in TRMs, but PMC
driver obliviously re-used the Tegra20 logic for Tegra30+, which strikes
back now. The 10 microseconds and other timeouts aren't documented in TRM,
they are taken from downstream kernel.
