[ Upstream commit a5bea04fcc0b3c0aec71ee1fd58fd4ff7ee36177 ] Commit dabf6b36b83a ("of: Add OF_DMA_DEFAULT_COHERENT & select it on powerpc") added a check to of_dma_is_coherent which returns early if OF_DMA_DEFAULT_COHERENT is enabled. This results in the of_node_put() being skipped causing a memory leak. Moved the of_node_get() below this check so we now we only get the node if OF_DMA_DEFAULT_COHERENT is not enabled. [ Upstream commit ca05f33316559a04867295dd49f85aeedbfd6bfd ] The reserved-memory overlap detection code fails to detect overlaps if either of the regions starts at address 0x0. The code explicitly checks for and ignores such regions, apparently in order to ignore dynamically allocated regions which have an address of 0x0 at this point. These dynamically allocated regions also have a size of 0x0 at this point, so fix this by removing the check and sorting the dynamically allocated regions ahead of any static regions at address 0x0. [ Upstream commit 5a8d7f126c97d04d893f5e5be2b286437a0d01b0 ] Commit 209c65b61d94 ("drivers/of/of_mdio.c:fix of_mdiobus_register()") introduced a break of the loop on the premise that a successful registration should exit the loop. The premise is correct but not to code, because rc && rc != -ENODEV is just a special error condition, that means we would exit the loop even with rc == -ENODEV which is absolutely not correct since this is the error code to indicate to the MDIO bus layer that scanning should continue. Fix this by explicitly checking for rc = 0 as the only valid condition to break out of the loop. This is the fix for problem 2 of 5. of_unittest_platform_populate() left an elevated reference count for grandchild nodes (which are platform devices). commit dabf6b36b83a18d57e3d4b9d50544ed040d86255 upstream. There's an OF helper called of_dma_is_coherent(), which checks if a device has a "dma-coherent" property to see if the device is coherent for DMA. But on some platforms devices are coherent by default, and on some platforms it's not possible to update existing device trees to add the "dma-coherent" property. So add a Kconfig symbol to allow arch code to tell of_dma_is_coherent() that devices are coherent by default, regardless of the presence of the property. Select that symbol on powerpc when NOT_COHERENT_CACHE is not set, ie. when the system has a coherent cache. If the condition of the 1st if is not met the function returns early without freeing the memory. Add a kfree() to fix that. The __fixups__ and __local_fixups__ node were added to the live devicetree, but should not be. Only the first property in the /__symbols__ node was added to the live devicetree if the live devicetree already contained a /__symbols node. All of the node's properties must be added.
