ifb_dev_init() allocates dp-&gt;tx_private to dev-&gt;num_tx_queues
entries via kzalloc_objs(*txp, dev-&gt;num_tx_queues). Both IFB
per-queue RX and TX stats live in those entries: ifb_xmit() updates
txp-&gt;rx_stats using the skb queue mapping, ifb_ri_tasklet() updates
txp-&gt;tx_stats, and ifb_stats64() aggregates both over
dev-&gt;num_tx_queues.

The ethtool stats callbacks instead size and walk the per-queue
stats with dev-&gt;real_num_rx_queues and dev-&gt;real_num_tx_queues. With
an asymmetric device where the RX queue count exceeds the TX queue
count, for example:

    ip link add name ifb10 numtxqueues 1 numrxqueues 8 type ifb
    ethtool -S ifb10

ifb_get_ethtool_stats() indexes past the tx_private allocation and
copies adjacent slab data through ETHTOOL_GSTATS.

Use dev-&gt;num_tx_queues consistently for the stats strings, the
stats count, and the stats data walks. This reports one RX stats
group and one TX stats group for each backing ifb_q_private entry,
which is the queue set IFB can actually populate.

Reproduced under UML+KASAN at v7.1-rc2:

Set the driver limit to GSO_MAX_SIZE (512 KB).

This allows the admin/user to set a GSO limit up to this value, to
avoid segmenting too large GRO packets in the netem -&gt; ifb path.

link_ops is protected by link_ops_mutex and no longer needs RTNL,
so we have no reason to have __rtnl_link_register() separately.

Let's remove it and call rtnl_link_register() from ifb.ko and
dummy.ko.

Note that both modules' init() work on init_net only, so we need
not export pernet_ops_rwsem and can use rtnl_net_lock() there.

rtnl_link_unregister() holds RTNL and calls __rtnl_link_unregister(),
where we call synchronize_srcu() to wait inflight RTM_NEWLINK requests
for per-netns RTNL.

We put synchronize_srcu() in __rtnl_link_unregister() due to ifb.ko
and dummy.ko.

However, rtnl_newlink() will acquire SRCU before RTNL later in this
series.  Then, lockdep will detect the deadlock:

   ----                         ----

                                lock(&amp;ops-&gt;srcu);
                                lock(rtnl_mutex);
   sync(&amp;ops-&gt;srcu);

To avoid the problem, we must call synchronize_srcu() before RTNL in
rtnl_link_unregister().

As a preparation, let's remove __rtnl_link_unregister().

With this feature, we can use the ethtools to get tx/rx
queues stats. This patch, introduce the ifb_update_q_stats
helper to update the queues stats, and ifb_q_stats to simplify
the codes.

The driver no longer depends on this option, but it fails to
build if it's disabled because the skb-&gt;tc_skip_classify is
hidden behind an #ifdef:

drivers/net/ifb.c:81:8: error: no member named 'tc_skip_classify' in 'struct sk_buff'
                skb-&gt;tc_skip_classify = 1;

Use the same #ifdef around the assignment.

<title>netfilter: Introduce egress hook</title>

Support classifying packets with netfilter on egress to satisfy user
requirements such as:
* outbound security policies for containers (Laura)
* filtering and mangling intra-node Direct Server Return (DSR) traffic
  on a load balancer (Laura)
* filtering locally generated traffic coming in through AF_PACKET,
  such as local ARP traffic generated for clustering purposes or DHCP
  (Laura; the AF_PACKET plumbing is contained in a follow-up commit)
* L2 filtering from ingress and egress for AVB (Audio Video Bridging)
  and gPTP with nftables (Pablo)
* in the future: in-kernel NAT64/NAT46 (Pablo)

The egress hook introduced herein complements the ingress hook added by
commit e687ad60af09 ("netfilter: add netfilter ingress hook after
handle_ing() under unique static key").  A patch for nftables to hook up
egress rules from user space has been submitted separately, so users may
immediately take advantage of the feature.

Alternatively or in addition to netfilter, packets can be classified
with traffic control (tc).  On ingress, packets are classified first by
tc, then by netfilter.  On egress, the order is reversed for symmetry.
Conceptually, tc and netfilter can be thought of as layers, with
netfilter layered above tc.

Traffic control is capable of redirecting packets to another interface
(man 8 tc-mirred).  E.g., an ingress packet may be redirected from the
host namespace to a container via a veth connection:
tc ingress (host) -&gt; tc egress (veth host) -&gt; tc ingress (veth container)

In this case, netfilter egress classifying is not performed when leaving
the host namespace!  That's because the packet is still on the tc layer.
If tc redirects the packet to a physical interface in the host namespace
such that it leaves the system, the packet is never subjected to
netfilter egress classifying.  That is only logical since it hasn't
passed through netfilter ingress classifying either.

Packets can alternatively be redirected at the netfilter layer using
nft fwd.  Such a packet *is* subjected to netfilter egress classifying
since it has reached the netfilter layer.

Internally, the skb-&gt;nf_skip_egress flag controls whether netfilter is
invoked on egress by __dev_queue_xmit().  Because __dev_queue_xmit() may
be called recursively by tunnel drivers such as vxlan, the flag is
reverted to false after sch_handle_egress().  This ensures that
netfilter is applied both on the overlay and underlying network.

Interaction between tc and netfilter is possible by setting and querying
skb-&gt;mark.

If netfilter egress classifying is not enabled on any interface, it is
patched out of the data path by way of a static_key and doesn't make a
performance difference that is discernible from noise:

When netfilter egress classifying is enabled on at least one interface,
a minimal performance penalty is incurred for every egress packet, even
if the interface it's transmitted over doesn't have any netfilter egress
rules configured.  That is caused by checking dev-&gt;nf_hooks_egress
against NULL.

Measurements were performed on a Core i7-3615QM.  Commands to reproduce:
