commit ace19b992436a257d9a793672e57abc28fe83e2e upstream. A hard hang is observed whenever the ethernet interface is brought down. If the PHY is stopped before the LPC core block is reset, the SoC will hang. Comparing lpc_eth_close() and lpc_eth_open() I re-arranged the ordering of the functions calls in lpc_eth_close() to reset the hardware before stopping the PHY. lpc_eth: kernel BUG on remove

We may have found a bug in the nxp/lpc_eth.c driver. The function platform_set_drvdata() is called twice, the second time it is called, in lpc_mii_init(), it overwrites the struct net_device which should be at pdev->dev->driver_data with pldat->mii_bus. When trying to remove the driver, in lpc_eth_drv_remove(), platform_get_drvdata() will return the pldat->mii_bus pointer and try to use it as a struct net_device pointer. net: lpc_eth: parse phy nodes from device tree

When connected to a micrel phy, phy_find_first doesn't work properly because the first phy found is on address 0, the broadcast address but, the first thing the phy driver is doing is disabling this broadcast address. The phy is then available only on address 1 but the mdio driver doesn't know about it. Instead, register the mdio bus using of_mdiobus_register and try to find the phy description in device tree before falling back to phy_find_first.
