[ Upstream commit e271ff53807e8f2c628758290f0e499dbe51cb3d ]

In function bond_option_arp_ip_targets_set(), if newval-&gt;string is an
empty string, newval-&gt;string+1 will point to the byte after the
string, causing an out-of-bound read.

<title>bonding: fix oops during rmmod</title>

<content type='text'>
commit a45835a0bb6ef7d5ddbc0714dd760de979cb6ece upstream.

"rmmod bonding" causes an oops ever since commit cc317ea3d927 ("bonding:
remove redundant NULL check in debugfs function"). Here are the relevant
functions being called:

bonding_exit()
  bond_destroy_debugfs()
    debugfs_remove_recursive(bonding_debug_root);
    bonding_debug_root = NULL; &lt;--------- SET TO NULL HERE
  bond_netlink_fini()
    rtnl_link_unregister()
      __rtnl_link_unregister()
        unregister_netdevice_many_notify()
          bond_uninit()
            bond_debug_unregister()
              (commit removed check for bonding_debug_root == NULL)
              debugfs_remove()
              simple_recursive_removal()
                down_write() -&gt; OOPS

However, reverting the bad commit does not solve the problem completely
because the original code contains a race that could cause the same
oops, although it was much less likely to be triggered unintentionally:

CPU1
  rmmod bonding
    bonding_exit()
      bond_destroy_debugfs()
        debugfs_remove_recursive(bonding_debug_root);

CPU2
  echo -bond0 &gt; /sys/class/net/bonding_masters
    bond_uninit()
      bond_debug_unregister()
        if (!bonding_debug_root)

CPU1
        bonding_debug_root = NULL;

So do NOT revert the bad commit (since the removed checks were racy
anyway), and instead change the order of actions taken during module
removal. The same oops can also happen if there is an error during
module init, so apply the same fix there.

[ Upstream commit f267f262815033452195f46c43b572159262f533 ]

Commit 9b0ed890ac2a ("bonding: do not report NETDEV_XDP_ACT_XSK_ZEROCOPY")
changed the driver from reporting everything as supported before a device
was bonded into having the driver report that no XDP feature is supported
until a real device is bonded as it seems to be more truthful given
eventually real underlying devices decide what XDP features are supported.

The change however did not take into account when all slave devices get
removed from the bond device. In this case after 9b0ed890ac2a, the driver
keeps reporting a feature mask of 0x77, that is, NETDEV_XDP_ACT_MASK &amp;
~NETDEV_XDP_ACT_XSK_ZEROCOPY whereas it should have reported a feature
mask of 0.

Fix it by resetting XDP feature flags in the same way as if no XDP program
is attached to the bond device. This was uncovered by the XDP bond selftest
which let BPF CI fail. After adjusting the starting masks on the latter
to 0 instead of NETDEV_XDP_ACT_MASK the test passes again together with
this fix.

Do not report the XDP capability NETDEV_XDP_ACT_XSK_ZEROCOPY as the
bonding driver does not support XDP and AF_XDP in zero-copy mode even
if the real NIC drivers do.

Note that the driver used to report everything as supported before a
device was bonded. Instead of just masking out the zero-copy support
from this, have the driver report that no XDP feature is supported
until a real device is bonded. This seems to be more truthful as it is
the real drivers that decide what XDP features are supported.

commit 486058f42a4728053ae69ebbf78e9731d8ce6f8b upstream.

As suggested by Paolo in link[1], if the memory allocation fails, the mm
layer will emit a lot warning comprising the backtrace, so remove the
print.

[ Upstream commit d6b83f1e3707c4d60acfa58afd3515e17e5d5384 ]

If failed to allocate "tags" or could not find the final upper device from
start_dev's upper list in bond_verify_device_path(), only the loopback
detection of the current upper device should be affected, and the system is
no need to be panic.
So return -ENOMEM in alb_upper_dev_walk to stop walking, print some warn
information when failed to allocate memory for vlan tags in
bond_verify_device_path.

I also think that the following function calls
netdev_walk_all_upper_dev_rcu
----&gt;&gt;&gt;alb_upper_dev_walk
----------&gt;&gt;&gt;bond_verify_device_path
From this way, "end device" can eventually be obtained from "start device"
in bond_verify_device_path, IS_ERR(tags) could be instead of
IS_ERR_OR_NULL(tags) in alb_upper_dev_walk.

[ Upstream commit 3cffa2ddc4d3fcf70cde361236f5a614f81a09b2 ]

Commit 9eed321cde22 ("net: lapbether: only support ethernet devices")
has been able to keep syzbot away from net/lapb, until today.

In the following splat [1], the issue is that a lapbether device has
been created on a bonding device without members. Then adding a non
ARPHRD_ETHER member forced the bonding master to change its type.

The fix is to make sure we call dev_close() in bond_setup_by_slave()
so that the potential linked lapbether devices (or any other devices
having assumptions on the physical device) are removed.

A similar bug has been addressed in commit 40baec225765
("bonding: fix panic on non-ARPHRD_ETHER enslave failure")

Since 429e3d123d9a ("bonding: Fix extraction of ports from the packet
headers"), header offsets used to compute a hash in bond_xmit_hash() are
relative to skb-&gt;data and not skb-&gt;head. If the tail of the header buffer
of an skb really needs to be advanced and the operation is successful, the
pointer to the data must be returned (and not a pointer to the head of the
buffer).

The commit 14af9963ba1e ("bonding: Support macvlans on top of tlb/rlb mode
bonds") aims to enable the use of macvlans on top of rlb bond mode. However,
the current rlb bond mode only handles ARP packets to update remote neighbor
entries. This causes an issue when a macvlan is on top of the bond, and
remote devices send packets to the macvlan using the bond's MAC address
as the destination. After delivering the packets to the macvlan, the macvlan
will rejects them as the MAC address is incorrect. Consequently, this commit
makes macvlan over bond non-functional.

To address this problem, one potential solution is to check for the presence
of a macvlan port on the bond device using netif_is_macvlan_port(bond-&gt;dev)
and return NULL in the rlb_arp_xmit() function. However, this approach
doesn't fully resolve the situation when a VLAN exists between the bond and
macvlan.

So let's just do a partial revert for commit 14af9963ba1e in rlb_arp_xmit().
As the comment said, Don't modify or load balance ARPs that do not originate
locally.
